Empties

 Hello,

this is the second part of my April empties, they are all of my face products and I really liked all of them.

Beautiful light blue bottle is eggo smartskincare Aquaholic hydrate+plump infused with aloe vera and hyaluronic acid. This has very nice packaging. Top twists and the pump comes out, product is very watery and very little was needed to spread all over my face and neck. It was nice and enjoyable (especially the packaging is awesome) but I am not sure I will get it again, there are other hydrating serums for less. I also have the pink serum and moisturiser to try out, so I am not quite done with this cool brand.

Tilted tube is Missha b.b. boomer primer. It had a lovely pink pearl finish and I would use it under my bb cream or foundation and where I applied thin coverage this would peak through. This is my second used up tube already, first was 20 ml and this one is 40 ml and has a pump which sucked all of it out and now the tube looks super thin and even tilted. I really liked it and I am itching to get a new one but since I have so many other ones I think I should use what I have up and then get it again.

Black tube is Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Time Reverse eye cream which is full of butters, oils and hyaluronic acid should hydrate my skin. Texture was light but left white cast until fully absorbed around 5 min later. I was okay with that since I only used it at night time. It was nice to use but I did not notice any big improvement.

Under is another Pyunkang Yul product, this one is Black Tea Time Reverse eye patches (60 pcs). This is the first time I had box full of patches and I tried to use them regularly on weekends. They felt very cold on my face and immediately when I would take them off I noticed my skin to be smoother in the outer corners but wrinkles would quickly come back (I don't have significant swelling). I took it as a mini spa experience but I probably will not be buying them again.

In the brown glass bottle is Eveline expert C serum. It actually does have a slight citrus scent and sheer brown shade. I had it before and I really like it. I think it is effective and cost for it is low. I think at the moment I don't have it but I have some other brightening serums that I have to go through first before they go bad and then I will get it again.

Bright yellow tube is Dr. Paw Paw multipurpose soothing balm. It is thick and greasy, I actually liked it on my lips at night time. It had no scent and felt like vaseline. Before I had their shimmery version which had large chunks and sparkles got everywhere. This one melts on the lips and stays for a long time. I would actually repurchase this one but I still have so many balms that I need to go through so maybe next year.

Here is a better view of the two Pyunkang Yul items. They are both pitch black with silver/holographic lines of wild nature with deer. So very beautiful but what is important is what was inside and since I didn't notice any big changes I will not be buying them again. I think I will keep a pot to store some of my jewellery or something, it is just too beautiful to throw away.

Shopping basket no. 4

 Hello,

this is the last part of my package and there are so many products. I realise that I went overboard but hopefully I will at least like these products and use them up.

In the top left corner there is another FlowerKnow eye shadow palette, this one from Midsummer Fairytales embossed five color make-up palette in the neutral Hazel Fawn option.

Underneath in a cream bottle is Etude Nymph aura volumer face primer. It is supposed to make my skin super glowy and I can't wait to try it out or bare skin and under my foundation. I hope it is not to sparkly.

Next is another and last for now FlowerKnows Midsummer Fairytales coating lip lacquer in Bluebell. It is supposed to be super glossy lip gloss and I live for glossy lips.

Going back to the top, in a yellow tube is A'pieu Honey & Milk lip oil with cute little bees. I hope this item is predominately hydrating and will heal my dry, cracked lips.

In the gradient cream to pink tube is Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tint from their Lucky Lottery collection in Cooling Pink shade. I really like their glow tints and hopefully this shade will be amazing.

Below is my free gift with purchase Laka Fruity Glam Tint in the shade Caffeine Rose. I did not chose the product or the shade so deep brown would not be my first pick but I will remain openminded and I will try it out.

Big nine pan eye shadow palette is Amuse eye color palette in Peony Skin variant. Just a bunch of neutrals with some pretty looking glitters. I can't wait to dig in.

In the floral case there is Cezanne Pear Glow cheek in Beige Coral. I feel like the name really well describes this shade. It looks super pretty and the glow is charming.

Last four items are two sets from Pudaier. Each set includes lip pencil, lipstick and a sharpener, on is in the Cream Cloud (neutral tone) and second one is in Scorpio Coming version (more red).

Empties

 Hello,

below is my second part of September empties and they are all among smaller tubes :) There is a bunch of minis :)

First there are two Origins Ginzing into the glow brightening serums. I already had a full size and I loved it. These two mini 15 ml tubes I have received as gift with purchases and I used them up with joy. Texture is very watery, I don't need whole lot to cover my entire face so serum last a long time and my skin loves it. This one is gone but now I see similar product with a different packaging, maybe they revamped the formula?

There is another Origins product, this one is Ginzing SPF 30 daily moisturizer with slight orange scent. I tried it on my face but I found it to be too greasy on me so I just used it on my body. I have other face sun lotions that I like better so I will not be buying big tube of it.

Next one is Smashbox photo finish Illuminate glow primer. It has peach base and slight glow but I have noticed that most of the glow came from the texture, on me it was a bit too greasy and when I put foundation over it it started to come off. It just wasn't compatible with my favorite foundation so I used it on my days off without foundation and on my neck and chest area.

Fifth mini is Lancome anti-wrinkle, firming tone evening cream. At first it felt lightweight but it left a greasy layer afterwards. I used it up at night but I didn't like the greasy feeling so I will not be buying it.

With a light blue lid there is Biotherm life plankton elixir. Light almost gel like texture and it was nice to use under heavier creams for added hydration. It was mini and hard to see if it works for me but I have already purchased a big size of it so I hope my skin will really like it (after buying the big size I have received this mini as a free gift with purchase).

First full sized item here is Avene soothing eye contour cream. It had a nice texture, it was fast absorbing and it didn't irritate my eyes, it was nice but nothing too special. I had eye creams that I liked better.

Purple one is Balea intensive lip balm with shea butter. I really liked it, it was hydrating and on the softer side. I like my lip balms to be soft so they can just melt into my lips, I also like the glossy look and this one covered all of that. Unfortunately I have lost it and I found it now one year later, it was buried inside my couch and now it has a weird scent so I didn't used it all the way up ;( If this is still available I would get it again.

Next to it is another lip balm and I deliberately turned it away since it is no name balm with a company name written all over it. It is a promotional balm and it is generic one. Slight vanilla scent which turns plastic, after around 15 min it disappears from my lips and I have to reapply non stop and my lips were still dry. At the and I didn't even bother with it since it isn't completely finished but I don't care. I just want it gone.

Last but not least is Benefit fan fest mascara in black. It is also a mini (it has a super short wand) but the brush itself is full sized. It had a slightly curved wand and I really liked it. Usually I use rubber bristles and this one has more of a traditional wand but we got along well. I liked to put on one layer, occasionally two since I don't like clumped lashes. This one behaved well for my needs but I could if I wanted to make it more obvious. I think it is a very versatile mascara and I like that. I already put it into my online shopping bag but I can't bring myself to buy it since I have a few others that I have to go through but this one is definitely one of my favorites.

Empties

 Hello,

it is time to do the empties and again I have not finished up whole lot, just a few necessities.

Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda hand balm is supposed to be scented with almond oil and Indian rose. To me it smells very nice, creamy and comforting, lovely to go to bed to. I was using it after washing my hands daily but also at night time before going to bed I put it all over my arms and upper body for the scent alone. It had such a nice light texture and the scent was my favourite part.

I also finished up a bottle of perfume which is Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Pin up in the limited edition bottle. It held 50 ml and I already have a regular larger bottle of it. It is a sweet orange blossom scent which opens up a bit bitter (not my favourite part but manageable). After an hour or so of wearing it it gets more airy and slightly fresher so wearing it in the summer it doesn't feel like too much. I still very much love this scent so I'm glad to have a backup but before using the new one I will give a chance to some of my other fragrances to avoid getting tired of it.

In the glass bottle is The Ordinary 100% organic cold pressed rose hip seed oil. I love using rose oil since my skin responds well to it. This one didn't feel any different than any other that I have tried except towards the end it got a bit more milky and less transparent, I wonder If that is due to its age (I can't quite remember when I bought it but I can tell it is old). I think I already have a new bottle and I will continue using it.

Last is Catrice ultra last fixing spray and this one is the best I have ever tried, if applied enough it feels like a hair spray on my skin. I will admit that it does feel weird but my make-up last the longest. It is a product that I will buy for as long as they will make (I already purchased three backups).

Empties

 Hello,

the first half of the month is already behind us and I seriously thought I would have more items finished up. There is a whole bunch of products hanging on their last legs which will be featured at the end of the month.

Teaology Matcha Latte body milk with Matcha Tea infusion and organic vegan milks is a lovely body moisturizer which I received free of charge when I bought my first face cream from them  (it is already used up and I already have a new one), the scent is the same, green tea like and very comforting and nice. It felt nourishing and my skin liked it but I didn't think it was anything too special, especially not for a bit higher price tag. Maybe I will get it again if I see it on sale but this 100 ml tube was finished up in just two weeks...that is a bit fast even for me.

Next is The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% toning solution. I heard a lot of good things about this type of acid in toners and I wanted to try it out. I haven't noticed and changes which I could pinpoint to this product, after a while it started to get pointless for me and I started to use it less regular and that helped my skin even less. I know I just got lazy with this item because I know I should use it regularly but my laziness got the best of me. I still have some bottles laying around that I have to use up and maybe this next one I will use as instructed.

I managed to finish up a  bottle of a fragrance. It is only a 20 ml version of Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume but still, this is a big deal for me because I have a lot of bottles. I really liked this scent but probably I won't repurchase it again because I have two other fragrances that smell similar but are even better to me (Armani In Love with You and Dior Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming).

This next item is a love of mine and I already have a backup of it. It is Alverde Dog Rose face oil. This little 15 ml bottle lasts for quite a while since I don't need a lot but it helps with my overall red tone of my face, it sooths and calms down my skin and I love it. Extra bonus is the nice rosey scent.

Second to last is The Body Shop Tea Tree pore minimizing face primer which is my very last tube of it because they don't make it anymore :( My skin is acne prone and using something with Tea Tree under my make-up makes my skin happy. I'm not 100% sure it helped fight off acne but it sure did have trick my brains and had a big psychological impact on me. I was sure I will buy this till the end of my days... my make-up also did look very nice on top of it. This doesn't feel like a regular silicone primer but rather like a face moisturizer, my skin afterwards did look a bit more matte but it didn't hold my oils at bay for long. As mentioned above, I liked the strong Tea Tree scent which triggered my brains into thinking that I'm using skincare under my make-up. If they ever come out with a similar sounding item I'm getting it immediately.

The very last item is Catrice LE lipstick (collaboration with Peta) in the shade Feel Good. A lovely mauve toned shade (my favorite  out of the three I had). I liked that it goes on pretty sheer but it can be intensified with an extra layer, it looks pretty glossy and juicy on the lips and it did nourish my lips for a while. I still used regular lip balm in between just so the color didn't build up too much but my lips looked happy using it.

Empties

 Hello,

It is the end of the month and it is empties time! It went by so fast and it is kind of hard to realize that there are only two more months to go...

First is Blistex intensive moisturiser lip cream with Cherry scent. It contains 6 ml of products which I think is quite a lot. It really is a cream product and at first leaves a bit of a white residue on my lips but it does sinks in after a couple of minutes (if I applied more that it took longer to absorb). I was using it at home so no one could see the white cast and it was fine. It is moisturizing and I really liked the Cherry scent. This balm was definitely on the upper part of my lip balm list but I still think I won't repurchase it again. There are other balms that I prefer over this baby.

Next is my holy grail Neutrogena oil free daily face moisturizer. I have used up a lot of these tubes and every so often they slightly change the packaging but the product still feels the same. It is a light texture cream which absorbs super fast, it moisturizes my skin instantly but keeps my skin matte. I tell you, this is magic and I already have a new tube.

Another love is this particular Batiste dry shampoo in the Blush option. It smells like Peony and even though I normally don't obsess over this scent I love it in my hair and on the day when I do spray my hair with it I rarely wear perfume because it is so strong and I want to smell it all day long. I will repurchase it but at the moment I'm using different one which is also really nice (it is from a different brand).

I'm quite sad that The Body Shop don't make this Vineyard Peach collection anymore. I used to have a lotion and the scent charmed me so much that I rushed to the store and got myself butter version as well and now even this has come to an end. This had a very authentic Peach scent and it was delicious. I will miss it but I still have more TBS butters that need to be used up.

Essence High Beauty hydrating primer was a gift from Essence PR team. I already talked about it in depth so I will just quickly go through main points. First is the smell, it is very natural and green smelling, not my favorite but after a while it disappears. Then the texture is cream like and slightly yellow but it sinks in very fast and my skin looked pretty matte but when I applied my foundation on top of it it looked more dewy and since I have pretty oily skin this one wasn't my favorite. I used it up on my days off, over face cream to amp up the moisture and using it like that I was able to finish it up pretty fast.

The very last item is this Benecos Natural Kajal in White (to be honest it is more of a off white color-cream if you will). When I bought it I was obsessed with putting it into my lower waterline so I immediately bought myself a backup (there was no need to do that  because it is still available). After using it daily I started to wear it less and less until I completely forgot about it. Only recently I picked it up again and the experience wasn't the best. I put it into my waterline and after a while it started to travel around my eye and my vision blurred a bit, not something I would want so I'm throwing it away and I will start using the 'new' one and if it does the same I'm throwing that one away as well.

I'm done with products that work only partially for me, I'm not going to push boundaries to make it work. It ether works or I'm letting go of it, life is to short to wear make-up which doesn't makes me happy.

High Beauty

 Hello,

it is time for a high beauty! :)                                                                                                                      Essence kindly sent me these two as a PR gift and I'm super grateful. I'm always down to try new lip balm and the I'm still trying to find the perfect Summer primer and I hoped this might be it...

Essence high beauty caring lip balm and Essence high beauty hydrating face primer.

Both products contains hemp seed oil (the main ingredient in these products) and are vegan. Lip balm is slightly rose tinted but on the lips it gives a touch of color which I appreciate. I find it to be moisturizing enough and I enjoy it a lot. The only aspect is the scent (both product have this natural green scent which doesn't bother me in a primer but in the lip balm is a bit strange, perhaps because I'm used to the fruity or vanilla scents and this is just different. Thankfully it disappears fast so discomfort doesn't last long).

The lip balm comes in this 10 ml tube with straight forward opening which isn't the most friendly to use. It is kind of hard to disperse it all over the lips nicely with just the tube, I always have to use my fingers to get the nice application and that immediately is a setback especially in these times. I only use it at home where I make sure my hands are clean but the moisturizing properties are there and I don't regret keeping it and I will make sure to finish it up. My lips could never be too moisturized.

The face primer promise to refresh (?) and hydrate the skin. Straight from the tube it is yellow but once blended it doesn't leave any trace. At first my skin looks almost matte but when I put my foundation on top it is slightly dewy and through the day I get greasy very fast. I don't think this primer is targeted to the people with already oily skin so now I use it on my face when I'm not going anywhere. I moisturize and put one layer of primer on top but no make-up. It doesn't break me out and I think it gives me some extra moisture kick. This is the only way I can think of using this 40 ml tube up.

Big thanks to the Essence team for sending me these two products.

Empties

 Hello,

another half a month has gone by and all I have for you is a bag full of empty products.

First lets start with a good one. It is Alkmene tea tree face wash. Very nice gel consistency with tea tree that helps keep my skin acne free and I love it very much. I definitely need to go and buy some more because at the moment I'm out of it.

I used to love and use pretty much only Dove deodorants but then I wanted to try something new. My sister gave me this Dove 48h Deodorant with matcha green tea and sakura blossom. It made me realize why I like them so much. It is still a very good one but now I'm layering it with another deodorant to get the perfect smell free combo. I need to go to the store and pick some more, maybe in a different scent, Pear perhaps?

I purchased this Balea Bahamas dream body lotion with coconut and frangipani scent ether last year or two years before. It is pretty old and I'm glad that I finished it up. It is very liquid and when I open it up I have to be really careful not to spill it. At first it smells really nice just like the description says but quickly it gets the plastic-y aftertaste and I don't like that. Quite a few Balea products did that to me and maybe that is the sign to stop buying them?

Next is my love: Essence camouflage Healthy Glow concealer in Light Ivory. This is my third tube and I hope they will never discontinue it. Great coverage and barely there creasing. I already have backup but out of curiosity I bought the matte version. It is not bad but I think I prefer the Healthy Glow one (it is a bit lighter in tone but other than that I don't see the difference in performance).

Next is SPA Ceylon happy uplifting balm roll on that my sister brought from abroad. I use to really like these fresh scents but now I moved to something sweeter and richer. I am aware that this is not meant to be worn as a fragrance but the scent is so strong that it overpowers everything. It is also very oily so I wasn't able to put it on my temples or on my wrists because I would just wipe it out onto my hair or clothes so I ended up using it in my car. I would put a bit of it on a paper and leave it in my car and the refreshing scent in a hot automobile felt really nice.

Next is another love of mine and it is The Body Shop tea tree pore minimiser. It is already discontinued and I'm using my very last tube of it which is pretty sad. I like to apply this before my make-up to 'treat' my skin with tea tree. I really believe that my skin don't produce so much acne when I use products with tea tree and using face wash, oil and primer all with this magical ingredient in it... my skin is blemish free or at least not so very acne occupied since I started using more tea tree (I also know that a proper diet and combination of various ingredients play a massive role).

Another holy grail is this Beauty Glam clear skin serum with Salycylic acid and this particular acid is another miracle for my skin. I approximately use it every second day and aging my blemishes heal much faster or at least don't grow to such extents as they used to. I already got myself a new bottle and is already in good use.

Thank God this beautiful serum from Avon Advance Technique isn't gone yet. They did change or discontinued a couple but they left this silky hair serum. It is my third bottle and I like to use it especially on damp hair and in the morning they are softer and silkier, just like the bottle suggests. I don't have a back up yet but I have some other ones that I need to try first before I go back to this one.

The very last item is this limited edition Catrice Kaviar gauche face powder. It is a bit smaller, 4 g, than the 'regular' sized powders but it still took me a long time to finish it up. It is white and even on me (super pale gal) the slight white tone was present. Whenever I would apply it as a touch up (after 3-4 hours) it made my make-up look a bit cake-y and not so nice so I ended up using it as a neck powder (I use a bit of foundation on my neck as well and I need to powder it otherwise my hair will stick to it).

That is all for my empties. I did order some new skin care online from a company I haven't tried before and I can't wait to try the products out. I hope I will find some new holy grails.

Empties

Hello,

I have been very excited for this empties, mostly because a lot of these I finished up quite early into the month so all of these empty tubes and bottles were sitting on my shelf for a while now and now I get to toss all of them.

First I have two bottles of toner from Milnica and this time I choose Linden hydrolate. I grew up drinking tea made out of Linden and I love the scent. I read on their page that this product is especially recommended for sensitive, quickly irritated skin with acne problems and that describes my skin to the T. I poured this into a spray bottle so I can refresh in the morning or evening. I love spraying my toner on my face and then follow with my creams and oils. I like this very much and I can see myself repurchasing it in the future.

Balea Iced Strawberry body wash was an impulse purchase. I think it was also on sale because they were discontinuing this LE. It smelled more like Raspberries or a mix of different Forest Berries with some cream added to the top. I liked it but it wasn't anything special.

Next product isn't completely finished but it started to separate so I feel like it is all gone. It is Isadora face perfect primer. It is silicone based and fills in my pores and imperfections well but when I'm putting my foundation on top it can't sink into my skin because of the barrier. I always thought that silicone primers are perfect for my oily skin but I slowly started to realize that I was wrong. My make-up just doesn't look seamless with silicone primer underneath, I think it looks very obvious and sometimes cake-y and my foundation starts to shift around when my oils do come through. I think for now I will avoid silicon primers altogether.

This next tube is one of my favorite hand creams and it is not a surprise that it is from Avon care. It is their 'newer' restoring moisture hand cream with Coconut. I was scared that it might be too sweet or weird scented but it is actually very mild and barely there. It does have a distinct Coconut scent but not sweet like some candy. It sink into my skin fast and nourish my poor hands. I kept it at work and all of my coworkers kept borrowing it so I think that is a good sign  ;)  I already have a new one.

The very last bottle is this Batiste Fruity & Cheeky Cherry dry shampoo. My favorite is still Peony one but this is nice as well. I think the formula is practically the same. It is a bit powdery white, so a good shake is necessary but it covers my oily scalp for a whole day and then in the evening I wash it off just like I do with any other dry shampoo. I never go to bed with dry shampoo on my hair, it is a pet peeve of mine. I just can't but I like to use them to freshen my hair for the day. At the moment I have my favorite Peony one but I can see myself repurchasing this Cherry one again to mix it a bit.

PR package

Hello,

I received a little surprise. Cosnova PR team sent me a couple of new products and what a lovely way to brighten any day, right?

I received two items from Essence High Beauty line. First little tube is pink tinted caring lip balm and second, in a yellow packaging is hydrating face primer. Lip balms are my weakness and as soon as I finish one of the balms that I'm using now I will try this one out.
Essence Bronzed this way! shimmering body oil is something I would never pick out myself because of the extreme shimmer but even though it looks very orange/bronze looks might be deceiving. I will test it out some more but it actually looks nice even on my pale skin tone.
The last item actually has a perfect timing since I'm almost done with my current fixing spray which is also from Catrice. This is the new one from their current limited edition Sungasm and is called Summer Glow make-up setting spray. This whole collection is gorgeous and I feel like I have to go and check it out in person as well. Too bad that we can't have any testers out in the store, at the moment because did you see the glowy bronzers? Stunning.

As soon as I will properly wear all of them I will prepare more in depth review for all interested.

Empties

Hello,

it is empties time and this time I have just a few products but most of them are repurchases and some of my favorites that I would gladly buy again.

First tube is limited edition Balea's hand cram with Pitaya and Coconut. It smelled like a fruity beach product. I kept it at work and everyone said it is very beach-y scent so everyone was borrowing it and helped me use it up. The scent really was phenomenal but the texture could get a bit too greasy if I used a bit too much.

Next is Avon's restoring moisture coconut hand cream in one of my favorite formulas (I think the original in the non scented version is no longer available :(. This had lovely barely there, natural scented coconut scent. No plastic or fake notes but rather creamy and comfy plus the formula is the best. I am using a new scent at the moment (banana) but I already have a backup of the coconut.

This one is a staple in my morning routine since I use it every morning for years now and I'm already using the new tube. It is Neutrogena face moisturizer. Very light but moisturizing, keeps my skin matte for longer and works lovely under any foundation.

I went through four or five tubes of Skin 79 V.I.P. BB cream but to change thing up I ordered this Skin 79 Oriental gold BB cream plus a while ago (now it seem like it is no longer available). The color is very close to my skin (it also adapts after 5 or 10 min), it glides over and covers quite decently and has an SPF of 30 (I still used sun lotion underneath) but it was great on my vacation. If I could get my hands on it I would buy it again but I guess I'm back to my 'normal' hot pink or V.I.P. or maybe I will try the snail one. I still have one tube of Pink one so I'm good for a while but soon I will order something new.

The very last item on the photo is this The Body Shop tea tree pore minimizer. It has sort of a pudding texture, more compact than a gel but not to thick. It has this typical tea tree scent that is so comforting for me (not so much for my pimples ;). This is the second farewell and I already have two more backups since TBS has decided to discontinue it... (insert sad face).

Lets not forget about our bodies who need extra moisture in this degrees dropping weather. I decided to use this Avon's Planet SPA fantastically firming with Colombian Coffee extract body cream. I expected to be very heavy on the coffee but I was wrong. I can't even detect coffee in it but to me it smells more like latte. Warm and comfortable cup of hot milk, it is such a lovely scent that even helped me sleep. I'm not mad that the scent didn't meet with my expectations but it even surpassed them. I would grabbed it in a heartbeat if it would still be available.

Empties

Hello,

I'm speeding through my products and trying my best not to buy more if I already have products of the same kind (I'm doing pretty well but there will be some upcoming sales that will be really hard for me to keep out). I will try my best.

Another bottle of this Alkmene tea tree face wash is gone. I like the products but not the slightly flimsy packaging. At the moment I'm using my other favorite (Himalaya neem foaming face wash) and after I'm done with that I'm going back to this one. I like to interchange them for a bit of variety.

Weleda Rose lip balm is a balm I purchased last year and I started to use it just recently. I had issues with separation. Usually the oil would come out and only then the pigment (is it old or just separated?), I tried to mix it by placing it in different positions and squeezing it around the tube but nothing helped. The scant was also a bit off, I have noticed in some other natural brands that their lip products also had similar scent (a bit of rose and rubber, at least that is how it smelled to my nose). The color is a soft rose/nude and a tad too light for me. Nothing about this balm excited  me so I decided to throw it away even though I haven't use it up.

Next to it is Catrice volumizing Beauty-full lips lip balm which is another one I haven't had much luck with. There are different versions/colors out there but I picked up the original one. It is a bit too light for me but if I'm careful and apply little it is okay. It is slightly cooling and minty (I haven't noticed any volumizing properties) but it fades away way too quickly. It is also not very moisturizing and my lips were soon dry and patchy. This is another lip balm that I haven't used up but I rather gave up on it completely. There are plenty of good lip balms that will nourish my dry lips.

Catrice Ultimate shine gel color in Don't pink and drive lipstick is super old but I have been holding on to it because of its amazing formula. I tried to use it up but I had no luck. This shade is bright pink and even though this line of lipsticks was creamier and glossier it still had plenty of pigment and it was harder to wear. It lasted for around three hours with minimal fading but on most days I just didn't feel like wearing hot pink so it was left in the dark. Now I finally pulled it out when I noticed little black dots all over the stick... I'm parting with it.

Second to last is Catrice instant blurring stick from Active warrior collection and it was a convenient little primer. Waxy and full of silicone to seal my pores, it actually worked with my skin nicely but since it was so small it didn't took me too long to go through it. I have something similar from Deborah in a tube and that is what I have been using and it works nicely.

The very last item is another Catrice product (I'm really on a roll) and it is all matt Transparent shine control face powder (my third I think). No need for long discussion here. It was a nice powder that kept me matte and looked nice when I reapplied once or twice through the day. It is still my favorite even though I'm testing out the Rimmel one.

Empties

Hello,

time flies by and it is empties time again. I have some items that I was working on on my recent vacation and others are for pampering and soothing my skin afterwards (I didn't burn, my skin was just a bit dry and dehydrated after more than usual sun exposure and extensive swimming).

I purchased this Hazelnut oil from Milnica because it is supposedly appropriate also for oily and sensitive skin (I had zero issues with it), Mostly I used it as a cleansing agent to remove make-up from my skin and then followed with my regular gel cleanser and my face was clean and didn't feel stripped of moisture (I'm really into this two step cleansing and if necessary I follow with micellar water afterwards). I will repurchase it again but at the moment I have some jojoba oil which also suits me very well.

Aveo grapefruit hand sorbet was purchased last year but since I have so many hand creams only now I started to use it. It has almost clear gel texture with lovely zest fragrance but the issue I have with it is that it leaves my skin sticky and that is a big setback.

On of my favorite SPF face creams is this  Holika Holika dazzling sunshine make up sun cream with SPF 45 +++. It does leave white residue (it is mineral sun cream) but still it keeps me matte. I like it a lot until I found something even better (still mineral but not so white) and so this year I used it on my body (it was also a bit older and I was scared that it wasn't protecting me so applying thick coats was something I did and I didn't get burned even though I spend a lot of time on the sun and in the water, it was waterproof, another reason why it was lovely).

This Essence hydra nail care serum has quickly become an essential item in my nail care. Every time I changed my color (sometimes also in between but mostly when my nails were bare) I applied some of it an massaged it into my cuticles to keep them hydrated and nourished. I liked the fact that it sinked in fast and I wasn't left with greasy residue. I would repurchased it but now I received oil which is very affective but greasy.

Afrodita body jam was sold out almost immediately when it came out. It was so popular that they weren't even able to manufacture it, the demand was too high. I was lucky enough to spot it and get it among the first. It smells just like apricot jam but unfortunately the texture is also just like that. Sticky and annoying. I was saving it for vacation to finally finish it because I don't mind being sticky on the beach.

I wanted to try and love this Catrice HD active performance primer with SPF 30 so badly but unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be. It didn't hold my make-up in place so I decided to use it on my body to at least finish it up. You can find more about it here.

For the last I saved another batch of these Garnier moisture + relaxing tissue mask, super hydrating and detiring with lavender extract and hyaluronic acid. When I came back from my sea vacation my skin was a bit dry and not quite right so I used these two sheets to bring back my normal self. What I also like about it is that there is enough serum left in each bag for another three to four days of nourishing. With these two I really felt a difference when I used them. Maybe they really worked or maybe my skin was just too stressed and a little pampering did the trick. I'm still not 100% sure that I will get them again but if I will I will get these, the purple ones.

HD Active

Hello,

finally we are having some proper Summer weather and all I can think of is my vacation (I haven't booked anything jet but it is nice to dream about beaches and sea, right?).
I started to use primer with high SPF again because the first time I used it it wasn't very warm and I wanted to see how it will perform under the hot sun.

It is Catrice HD activate performance primer with SPF 30.
It claims to be water & sweat proof and have pore minimizing effect. I like the little glass bottle with a pipette, it is convenient and easy to use but not so practical for traveling due the heavy glass.

Before every use you have to shake it well because it starts to separate, it is very liquid (as you can see on the photo) and very white. It does leave a bit of a white cast.

A little bit goes a long way so even though it only holds 15 ml it will last me a long time if I would only use it on my face.

The skin stays sticky even after I left it on the skin for a couple of minutes (it feels like any other cream with an SPF). The pore minimizing effect is there but the first claim? Water and sweat proof? Not for me unfortunately, I have very oily skin (especially in this hot weather). I used it under the matching Catrice HD liquid coverage foundation (the same packaging so they should work well together), at first it looked nice. My skin remained slightly sticky even after generous amount of powder, hair were sticking all over my face and neck. After two hours my face started to melt, the foundation was breaking especially around my mouth and chin area (there is where my skin moves around the most and if it breaks it breaks there), the forehead and cheeks were extra oily but still okay but my jaw line looked horrible. I used it on my off days when I just did some errands but mostly I stayed inside in my apartment so no one needed to see me. I would be too embarrassed to walk around.
All in all I did not like it at all. To be fair pretty much all of the creams with an SPF do that to my make-up so this one is nothing special but there is one positive feedback I can give and that is that it did not made me break out. I haven't noticed any pimples during my wear time and that is impressive. That being said I will use it on my chest and arms so probably it will soon appear in my empties but I would buy it again.

Empties

Hello,

this month is finishing and lets wrap things with some empties.

I cleared out another Ilirija shampoo, this time it is Chamomile (I had Burdock the last time and I liked it a lot). This one smells amazing but unfortunately it didn't suit my hair. The next day they already felt greasy and I had to use a lot of dry shampoo to make them look okay. I used up half of the bottle on my hair the rest I used to clean my body. I would repurchase the Burdock version but not this one.

Next bottle is a proper body wash and it is Avon senses Magical Kingdom and it is supposed to smell like Jasmin and White Musk. It smells lovely, creamy and soft but I had ones that I liked better. It was fun to try out but next time I will get something else (I have already ordered the new Gelato Moments and I can't wait to get it;).

I have already stopped counting through how many tubes of this magical  Neutrogena oil free face moisturizer I went. It is simply the best for my oily skin because it provides my face with moisture but it doesn't leave it greasy. I'm not even testing anything else, I'm already on my new tube.

Second to last is Alverde aqua 24h hyaluron hydro face cream. I was in a bit of a testing faze and got this but it didn't suit me. It smells fresh and sea like but the texture is a bit weird. It is like a stickier lotion that takes a while to absorb but my skin still felt dry and too small for my face. I started to use it on my hands and body but if I applied a bit too much it started to roll of and it was not cute. Even though it didn't cost much I still regret this purchase.

The very last item on this photo is Avon Rare Pearls perfume which I craved for a long time. In the end I decided to get just the small 10 ml bottle because I have way too many perfumes and body sprays. I like powdery top note with heavier flower undertones but after wearing it for some time I think my love for it faded away. I still think it is lovely but most probably I won't grab a full size anytime soon or ever.

This big 35 ml tube of L'oreal infallible 24h matte foundation in the shade Vanilla is finally finished. This has great coverage, it stays matte for quite a while (with some powder on top) but I find this shade to be too dark for me and since I found a foundation that I like even better so stay tuned for the 'big' reveal.

This lovely little guy was part of the limited edition and I think now they don't have anything similar. It is Essence For boys and Girls stick face primer. I liked the easy application, it felt moisturizing but not greasy on my face. Make-up applied nicely over the top (only when my skin was extra dry then it looked a bit cakey and dry but after my naturals oils break through it looked more natural ;) but I don't think it prolonged the wear. It was one of those nifty little products that don't make a whole difference but when I used it I could tell, in a positive way that is.

I was super sceptic about this Nivea original lip balm. You see, I had bad experiences in the past (excluding the amazing lip butters in the little pots) and I thought that this will be just like the rest but as it turs out the formula really suited me. It is soft and buttery, it melts very easily and I like that greasy almost glossy feel on my lips and the most important part is that it is moisturizing. I didn't particularly liked the yellow packaging but I already have the basic blue packaging (both of them I received in the advent calendar so I couldn't choose colors).

This moth was big on lip balms because I went through another one and this one is Terra Naturi Shea butter and Jojoba lip balm. In the past I had the Orange and Citrus which remains as one of my favorites so I wanted to try this new flavor/scent but the 'original' citrus-y still wins in my books. This pink one had sweet - fruity scent like Haribo gummy bears and I wasn't always in the mood for it. I already have a backup of my favorite and this one will soon be forgotten.

And the very last item is Essence get picture ready pore refining face powder. Too bad that they discontinued this baby because in my opinion it was pretty nice. It was slightly peach toned so it didn't washed me out and it really was smoothing, it covered pores and lay over little bump without highlighting texture. Really lovely product, I can see on their official web site (check the German the international one is a mess) that they have this all about matte silky fixing compact powder which also looks peachy-pink. I will check it out the next time for sure.

Empties

Hello,

this month really was short. It came to an end way too fast but the thing I'm glad is the Spring. It feels like it is just around the corner and I can't wait, what about you?

Tea tree oil makes my skin happier and I'm super glad that I have found this The Body Shop Tea tree pore minimiser primer. I don't think that it does much priming but what I love about it is that it makes my skin matte and it is treating my skin while I'm wearing make-up. I love it and  I have already repurchased it.

Next is a little 10 ml perfume from Avon and it is called Cherish the Moment. I used up the lotion, I believe last year and since I liked the scent I bought this mini version. The scent at first is very strong, sweet and I don't like it in this perfume version (at first it smells very fake and cheap, at least to my nose) but if I leave it on my skin to warm up a bit then it turns out to be rather nice. Still sweet and flowery but not so offensive. I imagine people easily get headaches if I would use it too much at once. I liked it and I did get some sweet comments at how lovely I smell but honesty I won't repurchase it again.

Last year I was in need for some night eye cream and I was too cheap to get my favorite (Avon Anew nutri-advance eye cream) so I bought a couple 'substitutes'. This one from Terra Naturi with pomegranate was a bit of a fail.  It is a white cream, a bit thicker but it does absorb nicely into the skin. The 'issue' I had was that my under eye area got really dry (I was sick for almost two months) and this didn't help much. I guess it is a nice cream but only if your eye area isn't too dry.

This big tub is Avon clearskin professional complete treatment pads. Inside you get 30 presoaked pads and even though they recommend to use them for cleaning I used them on clean skin and if I had any fresh breakouts it slightly burn so I avoided the eye area as much as possible. I honesty didn't notice any difference in my skin but for the most part I have to take the blame. I know I should use them regularly but I wasn't so the blame is on me. I won't repurchase them simply because I know I won't use them. I already have a lot of steps in my cleansing and moisturizing routine that is why this guy never got a fair chance.

Next is this third and last pot of Balea multipurpose cream. They constantly come out with new scents and they cost just a little over one euro so it is pretty easy to buy them. I really just wasn't thinking too much, I thought that it smelled great and I picked it up. The 'issue' I had with it was where to use it. It is a bit thicker cream that takes a while to absorb. The ingredients list isn't anything special so I wasn't using it on my face, the pot is small so if I  would use it all over my body I would be done with it after two or three uses. At the end I used it on my hands before leaving so I would put my gloves on top and the material absorbed all the excess, a bit gross but that was the only way I could think of finishing it up.

This little guy is super old (I believe it is my oldest eye shadow)Avon Color Trend Halo eye shadow. I remember it was marked as primer and shadow but it was too drying on my skin and everything creased even faster. I don't have any swatches of it (I already had a big pan showing in the center but the last part of it fell out which wasn't planned). It was very light like my skin tone with some shimmer. If it would be shimmer free I could easily use it on top of my pimples for some extra coverage (the pigmentation was insane) and for some drying effect. I mostly used it to fix mistakes, so if I went a bit too high with eye shadow on one eye or too far out I put this powder on top and it was covered. We had a good run but now it is retiring.

The very last used products are my beloved lippies. First we have beautiful Misslyn color kiss lipbutter in the shade Sunbath. The color is soft peach and I liked that it wasn't overly pigmented because  light milky shades can turn not so nice on the lips. This gave just enough color and plenty of shine to my lips and I can't praise it enough. I think they are still available but now my eyes are locked on the brighter pink shade.

Avon ultra glazewear absolute Renewing Rose lip gloss has to be my ultimate favorite one. This what you can see is the third and sadly also the last tube of it that I went through. Yep, I finished three tubes of the same color. That is called love  ;)  Avon makes lovely glosses and this one was not an exception. I loved the soft cushion-y feel, glossines and above all the mauve color which gave my lips just a hint of  color.

Next in line is another favorite of mine, it is Catrice Ultimate color Kiss me if you can lipstick and behold, this is the second tube of this exact color that I went through. This soft pink hue is perfect for my skin tone, I liked it so much that the intense shimmer in it didn't even bother me, in fact I kind of liked it. I know shocking ;)   I would get it again if Catrice would repromote it.

The very last item is the most bland of them all and it is Himalaya Cocoa butter lip balm. I say bland because it is sheer, colorless but it turns out to be a pretty nice balm. At first it felt a bit hard and I didn't liked it too much but after time it grew on me and maybe it even become a bit softer in texture so it was easier to spread. It had a slight cocoa scent which is a plus in my books but the thing that matters the most about lip balms is the nourishing component and this green baby had it. It was nice but at the moment I'm sort of drowning in lip balms so I have to finish what I have before I go out and buy some more.

new Essence and Catrice products

Hello,

it is this time around when Essence and Catrice revamps their entire counter. In my previous post I have shown you what I got from soon to be gone collection but this time around I'm showing you brand new products that arrived to me thanks to the lovely people at Cosnova.

Essence will have a new line of three lip balms named my beauty lip ritual. I received the nourishing one with rice oil, there is also one with ginko and one with cherry blossom extract. For now I can say that the cap sits very firmly on the tube so there is no fear of coming off inside my purse.

At first I was shocked when they announced that they will retire their entire the gel nail polish collection and also replace their signature bottle design (it is very special and I really like it). New bottles still look special (I can't think of any other brand that would use the same bottle design), it fits nicely in my palm and what is super important (at least to me) is that they still carry the same amount of product, 8 ml.  Now they are named Shine last & Go and the color that I got is called Millennial Pink and it looks super nice in the bottle, I'm curious how it will apply, pastels are know to be hard to work with.

On the top there is the new Catrice HD active performance primer with SPF 30. I'm already using their foundation in the same glass bottle and I'm sold on it so when I saw this baby I knew I had to get it because the foundation on its own is amazing but I'm worried that when my skin will get oilier I will need a good primer underneath and then bam! They came out with this cutie, it makes me think that it was made to be used with their foundation because of the same type of  packaging and SPF 30 claim sound amazing. I can't wait to start using it.

I'm crazy about lip glosses and I'm super happy that the trend of glossy lips is coming back, not that I care what other people are wearing but that just means that brands will come out with more of them and selection will be richer (not that I need more lip glosses  ;) Catrice named their new line Generation Plump & Shine lip gloss and my pretty nude shade is Nude Sapphire. Some of the shades are shimmery but mine is in a cream finish which I prefer.

The very last item is a small eye shadow palette. Catrice came out with four different color options and I like all of them. I like how small the palettes are and that you get a nice variety of shades in each (they are not one color driven, just one color in different shades and tones and I appreciate that). Soul Searcher palette in Namaste all day! is very neutral toned with one brighter blue shade, all of them have some sort of shimmer and since I'm not huge on matte I like this a lot.

Thank you Cosnova PR team for sending me this amazing package, I really can't thank you enough.

Goodbye Pores

Hello,

today is the right day to introduce one of the slightly less 'interesting' product but it is so very essential in my make-up routine. A year and a half ago I didn't care about face primers but now I wear them every day and I can't imagine to put foundation on 'bare' face.

Catrice Goodbye Pores longlasting soft effect face primer was sent to me when it came out at the beginning of the year so thank you Catrice PR team for the lovely gift.

It is a silicone face primer which fills up the pores and covers up small wrinkles. In theory I do like that on my skin but with this one we didn't become friends.
It is cream colored but on the skin it looks translucent and doesn't add any color but it softly mattifys the skin.

The texture spread nicely and absorbs quickly and my make-up/foundation looked nice after I applied it on top of it. After a couple of hours I have noticed weird bumps on my chin and jaw line. I made sure that I didn't wear any other new products so I started to suspect this primer immediately but since I wasn't sure I waited a couple of days to heal my skin and then I used it again and these little bumps emerge again so that was enough for me. I did have very similar problem with Avon's primer in a pot so that is why I only tried this one twice because I really didn't want to damage my skin any more.
I have already gave it away and someone else is really enjoying it so it really depends from sensitivity of your skin. I'm happy that I got to try it even though I didn't like it but that just made me appreciate the other primers that I have and works for me.

soon to be gone Catrice products

Hello,

I randomly stumbled upon a list of products that Catrice will soon discontinue. The entire list could be foun here.

I went through it and there really isn't that many products that would interest me, I picked out five and the next time I will be at the store I will checked them out and if they will look nice I will wait for the sale prices.

This big Professional Artist eye shadow palette in The Key Piece surprised me the most to see it on this list because I heard nothing but rave reviews so I was always interested in it but there are two brighter pink shades that always made me turn away plus I was always telling myself that I really don't need more shadows. If I could get it at the reduced price I will get it otherwise I will let this one slide.

For this #insta to go blur stick face primer I have mixed feelings. I loved the one from Catrice LE Travelight Story and Essence For Boys and Girls which were in the same packaging and really nice on my skin so if this one is anything similar I will get it. There was another one from this years Catrice LE Active Warrior again in the same packaging but that one is more silicone based and even stronger but in this cooler weather my skin doesn't like it but I will save it for the hot Summer. So long story short Catrice and Essence had face primers in the same chubby packaging and I had all three and I love them all (some work better in hotter some in cooler weather) so I will for sure check this one out since the ones I have are all LE and therefore no longer available and if the formula will remind me of some previous primers I will buy it.

Wow, this Light Spectrum Strobing Brick in the Brown Brilliance shade is another one of those products that charmed me at first glance (there are two other color options but they don't interest me at all). It is something I have already bought at the beginning of November but I haven't reviewed it jet. I think that if it managed to get on my to-buy list again is a big enough hint of how much I like it  ;)

It's Glow Time is one of the big Light in a box highlighter palettes. I'm not really interested in other bigger palettes with this pan position and honestly even this one almost didn't cut it. I think I have swatched it in the store and since I didn't buy it that tells me a lot but maybe if I will find it for very cheap I will be able to 'overlook' the shades that are a part of it but don't interest me (the second on top looks very yellow and the special effect top coat is more of a sparse glitter).

P.S. The more I look at this palette the less I want it...

And for last I have saved only one nail related product and it is one of super eye catching Shake & Seal top coats. If I will get it I think I will get the 'boring' silver one named Icy Slowdonwn. I don't think they give a lot of color but each has different shimmer or glitter even though some look very similar so if I will get it I will get one bottle only. I googled a bit and I have found two different ladies with very dark nail polish on and when they added one coat of Icy Slowdown on top it looked like crushed ice-holographic. I used to have a holo top coat but it got all gunky and hard so I had to toss it and I think that this would be a nice replacement.

Now we just have to sit tight and wait for them to announce all of the new products which will replace current ones and I can't wait.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Empties

Hello,

I took a bit of a break from blogging but I think that now I'm back. There was no particular reason for absence, I just needed to rejuvenate, charge my batteries and blogging just didn't fit in. I will slowly started to dip my toes back into the water and if it will feel right...
We are at the end of the new month and it is time to get rid of my trash  ;)

First is Avon's Today for Him body wash and shampoo. I really liked this scent (sometimes manly fragrances feel right) and I used it exclusively on my hair. It cleansed my hair really well (I like to coat my hair with some oil and some of the shampoos just can't wash it off), removed all of product buildup and my hair were not dry but rather smooth and shiny. I think it is still available and I will soon pick another tube of it.

Avon naturals 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner with  Basil and Lotus flower was another great shampoo for my hair. It made them smooth and sleek, kind of like how they look after a fresh cut. Very bouncy, healthy and shiny. The scent was very soft but so so nice. I manged to get another bottle before it sold out. I would definitely get more if I could.

Avon Senses Xtreme body wash with main notes of  Grapefruit, Amber and Cedarwood. The scent was very manly and as I said previously sometimes I really like it on myself especially under the shower. Somehow this type of scent makes me feel extra clean. I did liked this scent but I know they have many more so probably I will try something else next (at the moment I have Magnolia scented one and that suits me at the moment).

Himalaya Foaming Neem face wash is one of my favorite face washes. It foams really nicely and manages to remove all of my make-up, even mascara and while taking it all of it doesn't irritate my eyes. Right now I'm using something else but just today I was at the store where they had -50% on this face wash and I grabbed two more bottles even though it is not expensive (full price is a bit over the 5 € mark).

Another one of my favorites is this Neutrogena oil free moisturizer. I have stopped counting through how many tubes of this I went but this light and jet moisturizing formula convinces me every time. Great for oily and dehydrated skin.

The big pot in the middle is Avon Skin so Soft body butter with Jojoba oil. This one was new to me and while I like this formula and it smelled really nice in the packaging when I put it on my skin I was a bit disappointed. It still smelled nice but it was so faint... I probably won't get it again but the one in the pink box...  ;)

Avon Planet SPA nourishing face mist with Damask Rose was a lovely face mist. Actually this is my second bottle but I remember they only sold it for a very short time and together in a set (face mist, massage face mask and body oil, all three products smell divine). I loved it on my bare face, over moisturizer or make-up. It just made my face look more hydrated and especially when I wore make-up and I would spritz some on top it always made it look better. I'm so sad that they don't sell it anymore but the Lavender one from Melvita also does the trick for me but their Rose one doesn't. Thank god I also like Lavender ;)

The big golden egg is Tony Moly egg pore face primer. It was one of my first face primers and I really liked it. It was silicone based one so something appropriate for my oily skin and I managed to use almost entire pot but a little bit was left inside but it got dry and a bit flakey so I decided to just throw it away. I like it but when the months went by I find out better ones so I won't be repurchasing it.

Another favorites of mine is this little pot of magic. Avon Anew nutri-advance eye cream is very rich and nourishing and I can see the difference when I use it for a couple of days. My eye area looks fresher, more plumped and younger. This one is a definite must in my night time skin regime. At the moment I'm testing something new but it doesn't even come close.

Avon Classic Beige lipstick is super old so I don't even know which line it belonged but I really like the slightly glossy feel but after a while it settled and left a nice even stain on my lips. The tone is rather brown but I liked it. If this would still be available I would get a full size and I would check some other shades because of the amazing long lasting formula.

The very last item on that photo is from Slovenian brand Milnica and this is their Green tea Elixir. It is very liquid (watery consistency) and brown toned but I was so surprised at how moisturizing it felt on my skin. A little bit went a long way so this bottle lasted me for quite some time. The only 'flaw' is that it made my skin very dewy, glossy (if you have oily skin then you know that this is a big no no) but I have 'solved' in the only way I could. I used it at night when I don't care how glossy or greasy I look ;)  This is already on my to buy list but I would like to use up some other elixirs/serums first but then I will get it again.

For the end I have two of my currently favorite face powders. The fist top one is Essence All about matte fixing compact powder waterproof version which is white. It also comes in a regular non waterproof version (red writing) which was my favorite for a while but then these two replaced it (seriously, if you have oily skin try these two). The only complain I have about it is that it makes me so pale. I'm pretty white but apparently I'm not white as a fresh milk. Thank god I had some powder which is too dark for me but applied on top of this one it was perfect. I already repurchased it, this Essence one, not the darker one from Benecos. That one is still quite full  ;)

The next one is already my second Catrice All matt plus in Transparent which is very close to my skin color (still a bit lighter but not really noticeable, is comes in white and two other darker shades). This one doesn't keep my skin matte for so long as the Essence one does but it is great for touch-ups because it just doesn't look cakey. I kept it at work and I powdered if I needed and my make-up looked nice throughout entire work day. This one is also already repurchased and in good use.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day
