Empties

Hello,

I have been very excited for this empties, mostly because a lot of these I finished up quite early into the month so all of these empty tubes and bottles were sitting on my shelf for a while now and now I get to toss all of them.

First I have two bottles of toner from Milnica and this time I choose Linden hydrolate. I grew up drinking tea made out of Linden and I love the scent. I read on their page that this product is especially recommended for sensitive, quickly irritated skin with acne problems and that describes my skin to the T. I poured this into a spray bottle so I can refresh in the morning or evening. I love spraying my toner on my face and then follow with my creams and oils. I like this very much and I can see myself repurchasing it in the future.

Balea Iced Strawberry body wash was an impulse purchase. I think it was also on sale because they were discontinuing this LE. It smelled more like Raspberries or a mix of different Forest Berries with some cream added to the top. I liked it but it wasn't anything special.

Next product isn't completely finished but it started to separate so I feel like it is all gone. It is Isadora face perfect primer. It is silicone based and fills in my pores and imperfections well but when I'm putting my foundation on top it can't sink into my skin because of the barrier. I always thought that silicone primers are perfect for my oily skin but I slowly started to realize that I was wrong. My make-up just doesn't look seamless with silicone primer underneath, I think it looks very obvious and sometimes cake-y and my foundation starts to shift around when my oils do come through. I think for now I will avoid silicon primers altogether.

This next tube is one of my favorite hand creams and it is not a surprise that it is from Avon care. It is their 'newer' restoring moisture hand cream with Coconut. I was scared that it might be too sweet or weird scented but it is actually very mild and barely there. It does have a distinct Coconut scent but not sweet like some candy. It sink into my skin fast and nourish my poor hands. I kept it at work and all of my coworkers kept borrowing it so I think that is a good sign  ;)  I already have a new one.

The very last bottle is this Batiste Fruity & Cheeky Cherry dry shampoo. My favorite is still Peony one but this is nice as well. I think the formula is practically the same. It is a bit powdery white, so a good shake is necessary but it covers my oily scalp for a whole day and then in the evening I wash it off just like I do with any other dry shampoo. I never go to bed with dry shampoo on my hair, it is a pet peeve of mine. I just can't but I like to use them to freshen my hair for the day. At the moment I have my favorite Peony one but I can see myself repurchasing this Cherry one again to mix it a bit.

it is already the middle of this shorter month and it is time for my empties.

I will start with Afrodota's Cosmetics Hydra Patch eye cream. I wanted to get the Hydra Thermal one that I had before but I couldn't find it so I thought that this one is the replacement but it isn't. It had that 'normal' cream consistency which absorbed fast enough but the Hydra Thermal was more of a gel consistency and had a pump. It also worked much better, my skin around my eyes felt plumped and little lines weren't as visible but when I was using this one in a tube, my skin looked the same. I haven't noticed any difference so I won't repurchase it again.

Another Afrodita's Cosmetics product is this grape seed hand cream. I don't like their hand cream formula as they are too greasy for me but this scent is divine and I have one backup left. I used this one at work with a little help from my coworkers.

Fruttini made this gorgeous Ginger and Passion fruit body lotion, the consistency was milky and it absorbed fast. It was moisturizing but nothing too spectacular but the scent is a whole new level. I loved this strong, rich and very authentic passion fruit scent and I already miss it. I went to the store only to discover that they repackaged their products and this scent isn't available anymore  :(

Bright red gloss in a tube is Avon Ultra Shiny Tubes in Apple Red lip gloss. They are some of my favorite glosses ever but this one is so very old that it went bad. This is my sixth one and I have one more left (it isn't that old but I will make a point in using it up this  year). This shade is still available in the new Mark packaging and I assume it still looks the same. It is very pigmented and juicy red gloss, you have to be careful not to apply too much 'cuz it can start dripping otherwise it looks amazing on the lips.

Avon Care gentle moisture body wash with oatmeal and chamomile extract. It smelled like warm cream if that makes sense. Very unisex and I think a lot of people would find it relaxing and comforting, it was a proper cream texture but I think it managed to wash my body nicely and afterward my skin didn't feel tight but I'm just so used to apply some kind of moisturizer that I couldn't test its nourishing properties properly. Would I repurchase it again? I don't know, it was nice but nothing exceptional.

Second to last item is my beloved Essence all about matt fixing powder. I went through countless of pots and I thought that I will never find anything better or cheaper but I did. It is from Catrice and it is also a matte powder but it costs slightly more but on the other hand it is not so powdery and I think it will last me longer so I'm replacing this Essence one with Catrice powder.

The very last one is from Isadora and it is their Toffee moisturizing lip gloss. I had a little sample of it and it was lovely. When I saw they had fifty percent off I snatched it and kept it sealed for at least four years and when I started to use it not so long ago it felt weird and the taste was plastic-y so I think it is gone. It is such a shame because I have never spent that much on a gloss (I don't remember the exact price but I know I payed more than 10 € for it, lesson learned). This year will be the year of glosses for me, I will try to go through as many as possible and at the same time buy as little as I can.

this is my empties post no. 1 because I skipped the one in the middle of the month, ups ;) tomorrow the post no. 2 will follow...

I used up my favorite antiperspirant. It is Avon on Duty women Light Blue deo which is no longer sold (I bought a couple of backups when they discontinued it and this was my last bottle). They released them again under the same name and even some of the scents have the same name (I haven't tried them out so I can say if they are exactly the same) but this version did not come back. Maybe it is under a different name but I'm not sure. I think I will buy one of the new version to see how the formula is because Light Blue really worked for me. The scent was fresh and clean, kind of like I just got out of the shower (even after a long sweaty day), because it is an antiperspirant I noticed I wasn't sweating as much and when I did the scent was fresh as a daisy. I haven't experience any bad reaction and my sensitive armpits appreciated it.

Mini pot is Avon Anew nutri-advance eye cream about which I talked here. I still agree that this thicker cream is more suitable for night as it takes a little to fully absorb but the moisture that it provides is totally worth it. I will most probably repurchase it next winter.

The bigger pot is Afrodita's face and body yogurt. I tried it on my face but it irritated my skin so I was using it from my chin down. The scent was divine, soft caramel mixed with warm vanilla, the thicker cream spread nicely and it did moisturize but you have to leave it on the body for at least 5 minutes and for me that is a bit much. I get bored while in the shower so at the end I was happy that I'm done with it and I won't be repurchasing it. I prefer moisturizers that absorb and work faster.

Next to it is the Holika Holika Clearing BB cream. One year after purchasing it I emptied this tube, in my initial review I said it has medium coverage and at the time it wasn't enough but now my skin got better and this level of coverage is now enough but I had to start mixing it with something lighter because I had a feeling that it got a bit too dark for me. I use it almost every day and it is insane for how long it lasted me and take in consideration that the price is always around 5 €, usually a little under. No need to say that I'm already using my second tube, right?

In front there is Isadora Treat & Cover concealer in a pencil form. I'm not quite sure why I felt the need to buy this expensive concealer but I expected to be spectacular but I just ended being disappointed. The shade Ivory was okay but the slightly dry formula and mediocre coverage didn't do much for me. I tried to use it on bare skin or over make-up and nothing worked, the product just sat flat and very obvious on the skin while it didn't cover much. At the end I tried layering it under much cheaper and better ones (Catrice camouflage cream) and this is how I managed to finally use it up.

Second to last is Avon Perfect Kiss lipstick in the shade Pink Wink. This is the second one from this line that I'm tossing because it went bad. The same goes with this one, the scent and color seems fine but as soon I apply it to my lips I get the feeling like I have sand in my mouth and this is a clear sign for me.

The color is super pretty, bright coral, just the way I like it but it is not worth it anymore so I'm getting rid off. I hope I will find a similar shade because right now I really want to wear colors like that.

The last item is also not completely done and it is Figs & Rouge natural lip balm in the Lemon Berry scent. The brand is natural and organic so no wonder it went bad before I used it up but this time I'm not upset at all because I didn't like it. The scent was a bit weird and plastic-y, it had some pink color but since I used it when I went to bed it didn't really matter (I usually woke up looking like a clown, thank God I live alone) and the formula was so thin that after 30-40 minutes my lips were dry and I sleep for longer than that. It didn't provide enough moisture so my lips were dry and patchy for a while. I prefer the Labello ones in the pot, they are not natural or organic but they do their job which is to moisturize and after I'm done with all of my balms in pots (I have two others form Figs & Rouge and one from The Body Shop) I'm for sure buying more from the Labello and never again from Figs & Rouge.
