ARTDECO celebrates 30 years

Hello,

brand ARTDECO launched collection to celebrate their milestone and it is called Art Couture. From them I only tried their magnificent eye shadow primer but this time I opted for some eye shadows. They had 30% off and I splurge a bit.

ARTDECO Art Couture collection

They released new magnetic packaging to keep new long lasting eye shadows in. It is beautiful and glossy but that also means that fingerprints show up.

I went with three of the long lasting ones and one regular. They had a deal if you bought at least three shadows from this LE you got the magnetic box (it retails for 12,99€) for free. Originally eye shadows which are part of the collection cost 7,49€ and contains 1,5 g. The smaller one which is a part of their regular line costs 4,99€ and contains 0,8 g.
I haven't made any swatches or used them yet. They are so beautiful to watch and I don't want to ruin them.
Does anyone else does that?

Avon purchase

Hello,

I shop a lot through Avon which you would know if you would saw my bathroom. I remember when I was in elementary and I brought brochures with me in school and my friends were browsing it and sometimes also my teachers. In all those years I discovered a lot of amazing products that I keep repurchasing as soon I ran out of them. I just got a package and here a two photos of what I bought.

Advance Techniques Smooth as Silk shampoo, conditioner and oil

Here are Advance Techniques Smooth as Silk shampoo, conditioner and oil. I previously had the oil and I loved it so much that this time I wanted to try the whole collection and see if my hair will really be silky. I will report back when I will try them.

Avon Color Trend glossy lip pencils

For now I only took photo of the packaging of the Color Trend glossy lip pencils. I feel I need to test them a couple more days before I write my opinion here. Next week come back for more photos and I will try to write in depth opinion about them because they still show up in the brochure from time to time.

Bourjois blush

Hello,

I bought my first Bourjois blush last week. I heard so much about them and this particular shade was on sale. I cheeked their official site and this shade is still on available for purchase.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in Jasper Rose

This is Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in Jasper Rose. It is beautiful pinky peachy shade with silver shimmer. When I apply it on my cheeks it looks more of a silver sheen rather than straight forward shimmer. Thay are famous for their amazing scent, I can't put my finger on it but it is delicious. Quite flowery and a bit spicy, a mix of summer and more autumnal scents. I can smell it when I open it and also when I'm applying it but it does fade away and I can't smell it once I'm done with my make-up.

Blush is housed in a traditional little round pot. It has magnetic closure which is a nice touch. Inside there is a quite soft brush (I haven't tried it yet but I will after it will dry cuz I just washed it) and a mirror. It is big enough if I'm doing something on my eye, otherwise I think it is to small.
I like it a lot, the scent is amazing, I love the color I just have to be careful not to over do it because it is very pigmented. I have nothing bad to say about it.
Next time I will try some other colors ;)

e-bay order

Hello,

yesterday I picked up a package I ordered through e-bay. I was waiting for this one for a while and when I sat in my car I rip open the box to see the goodies. For now I am just taking photos and testing them but when I will try them for real and form an opinion I will share my thoughts about them here.

Missha, Tony Moly & Skin Food

I bought Missha Chiffon Painting Rouge in CRD01 and Eye Fit Stick Shadow in Brunch Day. To top it off I ordered two blushers one is from Tony Moly Cheektone Single Blusher in  shade Salmon Nude and the other one is from Skin Food Rose Cheek Chalk in Rose Peach

Dry Shampoo

Hello,

today I have a little review about dry shampoo. My favorite one was from Balea and it was their LE
Lovely Berries. They discontinued it pretty fast and I didn't managed to buy backups. It smelled like berries and it was very cheap. The second one I found that I liked was from got2be brand. It was part of the Volumania line packaged in hot pink packaging, again this smelled amazing and the price was ok. Of course when I went back to pick some more they already stopped making it.

Now I am back with the Lee Stafford dry shampoo. Don't get me wrong it is amazing but expensive. That is the reason I'm buying and trying different brands, I hope to find something as effective as this little guy but for a more reasonable price. They come in a 150 ml packaging and they cost a little over 8 €.

Lee Stafford dry shampoo

Compared with other cheaper brands Lee Stafford offers colored ones. I have the Original which is standard white and the Mid Brown one which matches my hair perfectly. There is also Dark version but since my hair aren't that dark I didn't tried that one.
When my hair gets greasy I just spray a little bit over my roots and massage it in, with the brown one I don't even need to be careful because it matches me so well. The scent is hard to explain, it is strong and reminds me of the hair saloon smell. It's not my favorite but I can handle it.
I will definitely try some other dry shampoos just because I think these are a little too expensive but just in case I will keep one at hand if the new ones won't work.

Translucent

Hello,

do you have oily skin? I know I do. I tried a couple of mattifying powders but so far my favorite one and the only one I have repurchased 3-times already is the Essence one. It is super basic and cheap. It costs between 2 to 3 €. It is white but honestly on the skin you loose it, it blends in and it really is transparent. So in my opinion everyone can use it no matter how dark your skin is.

Essence All about matt translucent powder

I lightly swirl my kabuki brush around the pan and dab it where I need it. It doesn't make my skin shine free the entire day but for a couple of hours I'm good. Actually none of the other powders I tried kept my skin matte the entire day  in fact some of them clogged my pores or my skin had an allergic reaction or they were colored and me being so pale of course everything was to dark.

I would say considering the low price this is a great product but I wish it would keep my oils at bay for a little longer but none of the less I will keep this one in my stash and buy it again, Maybe next time I will try something new but I will make sure I have a backup of this one.

Minty fresh

Hello,

I am obsessed with lip products and nail polish and today I have another awesome lip balm to share but sadly it is going to be discontinued or it already is. On their official web page it is already gone :( but they have replaced them with different scents.

I am talking about Le Couvent des Minimes (I have no idea how to pronounce the name) smile lip balms. In the 'old' versions they had three flavors: Mint (mine), Pear (my sisters favorite) and Orange Blossom (that one always smelled a little off to me).
Now the packaging looks the same they just changed the scents. Now they have Citrus, they kept Orange Blossom, Pear & Apple and the last one is Rose & Berries. The last one sound perfect for me but there is no mint. I know that mint flavor isn't that hard to find but  tomorrow I will go and check if they still have Mint one in the stock, maybe it isn't sold out yet. If I will find it I will get another one for sure.

Le Couvent des Minimes Smille lip balm in Mint

It comes in a 15 ml tube. The packaging is convenient and easy to use. When I used it for the first time I expected to be a little bit thicker but now I actually think that the formula is perfect. It is not sticky at all, it is very moisturizing and cushiony on the lips. It is clear so you can apply it while on the go. As mentioned it has minty and slightly tingly feeling but it is not strong and it goes away after 20-30 minutes, the balm stays on for a little longer. This is one of my favorites and I will definitely repurchased it but if it sold out I will try some other scents.

2. NOTD

Hello,

just a quick post with a photo of the two lovely holographic nail polishes. The picture is a bit old but holos looks the best in the summer on the sun, right?

Depend Ocean green and Sand beige

They are from Depend. Green baby is called Ocean green and the beige on the middle finger is Sand beige. Two easy coats and you're good to go. Since this holographic edition was released I got a hold of another one. I don't even remember the name (they are not written on the bottle), I think it is Blue Jeans or something similar. I will try to take a photo of that one and post it here because it is a beauty.

My first MAC product

Hello,

I have the best sister in the whole world. She travels a lot and she always surprises me with a gift. This time it was a MAC product. She knows that I love lip glosses so she decided to get me a dazzleglass Love Alert.

MAC Dazzleglass Love Alert

The color is sheer red with a lot of glitters (I like to put red tinted lip balm or a lipstick underneath to get an even color). I'm normally not a fan of shimmer or glitter in my lip products but this one is quite nice. Glitter is visible on the lips but I can't feel it at all.

MAC Dazzleglass Love Alert swatch

The scent is very nice, it reminds me of vanilla but when it is on I can't detect it anymore.
I heard a lot of people mentioned that MAC glosses or glasses as they call them, are sticky and I have to say that at first when I applied it it is not  but I feel it gets a little bit sticky after a while and specially at the end. When it is time to reapply it gets annoyingly sticky, specially towards the inner part of my mouth.
The wand is a whole another story. I have never seen anything similar. It has short plastic bristles that are tempered into a point. The first time I used it they were so hard like it was made out of solid plastic but the next time it was better and now they are soft and easy to use. Another thing is that they are short and don't pick a lot of product, I have small thin lips and one layer isn't enough to cover them. This isn't a major problem but it is more annoying than anything.

So in conclusion: I like the color and that the glitter particles aren't rough, I'm in love with the scent but stickiness is a deal breaker plus the high price. I honesty don't think I will buy any more, maybe if I will really like the color but otherwise this is my first and last MAC glass.

Love Roses

Hello,

I recently bought this lovely bubble bath from Avon. From time to time I indulge myself with one of these even though I don't have a bath ;)
I buy them just because they have very strong scent and are a pleasure to use in the shower or as a hand soap. This time I went with a Romantic Rose scent simply because I love rose. When it comes to this particular product I was a bit disappointed. The scent isn't typically rosy. You know that fresh roses have a different scent than dried ones well this product has a third variation. It is flowery with just a hint of a rose in it. It is still nice but not what I expected.
In the current brochure they have a nice sale going on and I am planing to pick some more scents. I just have to choose them and probably only two, which will be hard.

My favorite lip glosses

Hello,

today I have photos of my favorite lip glosses (well there are a couple of others but all of them are already discontinued). They are by Avon and the line is called ultra glazewear absolute.
I have only three shades out of eight available. Right now they were on sale and they were dirty cheap but I stayed strong and didn't order any new shades even though I really wanted at least two but I ordered some other lip products which I will show you soon.

Avon ultra glazwear absolute lip glosses in Pure Poppy, Tender Pink and Renewing Rose

The shades I already own from top to the bottom are Pure Poppy, Tender Pink and Renewing Rose. I love them so much because they don't have and shimmer (and I think non of the shades in this collection has any). They have medium opacity and feel very cushiony on the lips. They feel like a glossy balm and the shine you get is very juicy. I have to admit that the last shade Renewing Rose looks different in real life than it looks on the photo above. I tried but failed to show the real color. It is not so orchid like but more muted more mauve like. On the lips it looks the most natural (color wise) and it is my favorite. Actually on the swatch photo this shade looks more like it does in real life.

Above are swatches applied in the same order as they are on the first photo.

Yves Rocher Instant youthful effect foundation

Hello,
today I have a short review of Yves Rocher Instant youthful effect foundation. It comes in a glass jar that holds 30 ml of product. On top it has a pump and for me a pump and a half or sometimes two pumps are enough for the whole face. It doesn't have a cap but the top of the pump is rotating and when you push it to the left it is locked and that makes it a little bit safer if you travel with it (so far it survived in my bag without spilling).

Yves Rocher Instant youthful effect foundation Beige 100

The color range is divided by skin undertones, so they have Rose (more pink toned) and Beige (it says neutral but for me it is quite yellow undertone). I have the shade Beige 100, there is even a lighter shade in the beige range and it has a number 000 (I think it would suit me better but they didn't have it at the store). There are 9 or 10 shades in total, it depends from where you are. Here in Slovenia we only have 9 shades but somewhere they have a shade more.

The formula is liquid but not too much. It spreads nicely over the skin and cover smaller blemishes. If I want better coverage on certain areas I just layer it and it looks pretty natural except the shade is a hint too dark for me so I have to be careful and blend it well.

Yves Rocher Instant youthful effect foundation Beige 100

I don't use it every day because I still prefer my BB creams. A lot of people think that they are light in coverage but that is not true. You can check my previous post about BB creams and I have to say that most of them have better coverage than this foundation.
For me it is the finish of this foundation that makes it so nice. It is not dewy but also not completely matte. I would say it is more on the matte side, more velvety. The staying power is because of that also really great. I have oily face but now in cooler months it's not as obvious as it is usually. When I apply it I use powder on top and that is it. I don't touch it for the rest of the day. Sure it gets more dewy towards the evening but nothing too serious. So when I come home after a long day this foundation still looks pretty nice so from me it gets a thumb up.

Oranges in Autumn

Hello,
today I have two lip products that I'm using this season non stop. They are moisturizing and nourishing, perfect in this cold weather.

Yves Rocher lipstick 21. Peach and Terra Naturi lip balm Orange & Citrus

Yves Rocher lipstick no. 21 Peach, first you notice pretty packaging. Combination of purple and white and the flower print on the cap (I admit that was the reason that I picked it up and tried it and eventually bought it). It is lovely looking but also a bit cheap. I have been very careful (I haven't drop it on the floor or carry it around in my purse) but the cap still cracked. That for me is a big no no. When you open it up you can smell oranges, the scent is very fair and once you apply it on the lips you can't detect it anymore. The texture is very soft and creamy actually very balm like. If I wear it on its own the entire day my lips don't get dry but are very nice and soft. So this lipstick does act like a proper lip balm. When it comes to the color I have to say that it is very nice in the tube but it doesn't really translate on the lips. It is very sheer even if I layer it.

Terra Naturi Orange & Citrus is a natural lip balm that was given to me by my mom. I don't think I would ever picked it up. I don't know why but I never really looked at it. I have been using it for over a month and I have to say it is magnificent. I think it costs only 0,99€ and the ingredients are natural so it is not harmful for your body. It has a very pleasant orange scent that stays on your lips for a while. It doesn't bother me because I personally like citrusy scents. The balm itself is yellow but it doesn't have any color when you apply it but it gives your lips a bit of a gloss. My lips are moisturized and hydrated but the product disappears very fast so constant reapplying is needed. The balm is one of the best I have tried especially if you take the price in consideration. I think it is safe to say that I will repurchase it in the future.

And on the bottom photo (if you enlarge it you can see it better) you can see two cracks on the cap. I don't know how this happened because I have been very careful. The product costs 4,70€ and the product you get is nice, it is not a lipstick (in my opinion) but more of a tinted lip balm. When I take all that in consideration I don't think I will buy more shades. The flimsy packaging is simply too much for me.

My favorite BB creams

Hello,

today I will show you my most used Asians BB creams. I am absolutely obsessed with them and I have a couple more of them but I don't use them so often. My favorite brands are Skin79 and Holika Holika, I also tried BB creams from Missha, Lioele, Mizon, Etude House... All of them I purchased through eBay.
They all claim to have whitening effect (usually there are available only one or two shades but don't worry if at the beginning it doesn't match you completely after 10 minutes or so it will start changing and adapting to your skin color so it will look better. I am very pale but I noticed that it does makes me look even lighter so I assume that is the whitening effect that they are talking about, on the long run I haven't noticed that my skin color would lighten up) and wrinkle improvement (which I haven't noticed, maybe I'm too young ;).

The Skin79 BB creams comes in different packaging. Here I have three and all of them vary in size. You can get a trial size, a little baggie which contains 2 g, a tube with 5 g, sturdy, non squeezable tube with a pump which holds 15 or 40 g (Super Plus Orange), tube without a pump comes in a 25  or 40 g (Oriental Gold) packaging or tube with a pump which carries 50 g of product (VIP Gold).

The last two, the Holika Holika ones only comes in one shade and one size. There are 5 different ones in this collection and not long ago they decided to repackage them. I prefer this old packaging mainly because they have kittens on them  ;)  the new ones don't.

Skin79 and Holika Holika BB creams

Skin79 Super Plus Orange BB cream 40 g BB cream, this is actually the first one I bought and it made me fall in love with Asian BB creams in general. It has SPF 50 and great coverage. It is one of the lightest that I have and it is quite thick. Without another BB cream or a primer underneath it doesn't apply nicely at least on me. So I use another BB cream first and then I top it of with this one to lighten up certain areas and cover blemishes up (for me it is more like a concealer). It is less dewy as the other ones so this makes it more suitable for the summer when I need to cover some blemishes and I want it to stay put for the rest of the day. I avoid using it under my eyes because it will crease.

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Super Plus 50 g BB cream is my most repurchased BB cream ever. This is probably my third or fourth tube. I love it especially in cooler months. It applies like butter no matter how dry my skin is. It will never accentuate dry flaky skin but because of that it also looks quite dewy from the start (a little powder and you should be okay). I pile it on under my eyes where little wrinkles starts appearing and it almost doesn't crease. It has low coverage or I should say that it evens out my skin but it doesn't cover much. If your skin is blemish free than you can wear it on it's own but my sadly isn't, so I use it as a base and then top it of with a higher coverage BB cream to conceal spots.

Skin79 Oriental Gold  Plus 40 g BB cream,  for me it works very similar than VIP Gold one, except this one is lighter (the color fits me better) and it has more coverage. When my skin looks better I can get away wearing only this when I usually layer two or three different ones. It has a medium SPF 30 and it is quickly becoming my favorite. This one creases very, very little under my eyes. The tube is almost empty so I'm starting to look for the new tube.

Holika Holika Petit Moisturizing and Essential 30 g BB cream. I will describe both of them here because they are very similar. They are more suitable for dry skin because when you apply them the skin looks dewy. In the summer when my skin is oilier I can apply them without a base underneath but now in the cooler months I use them on top of something. They both have nice coverage the difference as far as I can tell is in the color. The purple-Moisturizing one is darker and maybe has a tiny bit less coverage than the orange-Essential one.
Now they repackaged them (I don't know if they messed with a formula but I heard they only upgraded the packaging) and the Moisturizing one is still sold under the same name but they changed the color of the packaging. The tube is now light blue. They changed more when it comes to the Essential one, now the packaging is yellow and they also changed the name into Bouncing.

Skin79 and Holika Holika BB creams swatches

Here, on the photo above, you can see how they compare. I applied them in the same order as in the first photo. The first (Super Plus Orange) looks a bit more yellow toned than the others, second (VIP Gold Collection) and third (Orinetal Gold) are the lighter ones. I am so sorry that fourth one looks so liquidy (Moisturizing) the truth is that the tube is almost empty and the formula is now a bit more runny. When the tube is full the texture is the same as it is at the last one (Essential) but this one is a bit lighter.

Thak you for reading and have a nice day

1. NOTD

Hello,
today I decided to show you what I am wearing on my nails. It is one of my oldies but it is very well loved. In fact this is my first red nail polish and I feel in love with it immediately . I was wearing it non stop and this is actually my second bottle since I finished one already.

Avon nailwear pro Cherry Jubilee nail polish, my bottle is a couple of years old and since then they changed their core line. I don't know if the formula has changed but they still have this color. On the new bottles they added the + sign so it reads nailwear pro+. I have a little less than a half left and when that is gone I'm buying myself another one. The first coat can apply a bit streaky but the second evens everything out and deepens the color. It has a cream finish and it dries super shiny. I usually add a top coat after a day or two. The color is definitely red but with a brown undertone. It is dark and muted and to me it looks sophisticated. Whenever I wear it I feel like a grown up woman who can do everything.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

New In

Hello,

yesterday I have been shopping a little bit and I found some pretty little products. I only tried them but usually I get the idea if I'm going to like them or not right away and I have to say more or less all convinced me.

It has been a while since the last time I bought some eye shadows and I have a feeling this two will fit into my routine pretty nicely. They are just two neutral colors that goes with everything.

Essence I Love Nude My Favorite Tauping is beautiful buttery everyday chocolate color. I love the texture so much that I will soon go back and pick one of the lighter shades as well.

L'oreal Infallible 24 HR eye shadow Time Resist White in the packaging looks off white but when I swatch it it is just super shimmery/glowing white. I would prefer if it would be warmer but I think I can make it work. I lightly applied it over different eye shadows and it gives them the most beautiful glow. I don't see myself using it on its own but as a topper it will look amazing.

I have to confess that I am a lip product junkie. This year I really wanted to hold back and try to buy as little lip products as possible but I have a feeling I'm going to fail. I bought three new product because they were cheap. This is the only reason, they were cheap and colors looked like something I would wear.

Essence Happy Girls are Pretty LE sheer lip balm in Live, Laugh, Love and Repeat, I have the lighter of the two balms. I am telling you this because on their official page the lighter shade is called Pretty You!. I have spent a good amount of my time googling and trying to figure it out and it seems that the names are mixed up. Apparently both names appear on both shades so no one really knows how each shade is named. I wrote down the name that is on my balm and not the one that you can find on official page. Wow, that was quite a long intro for this little friend. First I noticed that it smells nice kind of frutty, it is also very soft. After one use you can already see some use, I presume that it wont last long. The color is light but that is good enough for me. I like it so much that I am seriously thinking of getting a backup.

Essence XXXL nude lip gloss in Taste the Sweets. It has been years since I bought my last lip gloss from Essence and I completely forgot how great they are. The shade looks very different once applied on the lips, on me it changes into baby pink and I love it. Also the scent is great kind of similar to the balm but less sweet, once it is on the lips I can't detect it. It wears beautiful and it last from two to three hours on me which is great. Some more shades are already on my wish list.

Essence liquid lipstick in Colour Party. I normally don't wear such light Barbie pink colors but this one really caught my eye. Unfortunately it doesn't look that good on me. It is a little to bright and cool toned. I also wasn't pleased how the product wears. After a while it slipped in my lip lines and if I would have dry chapped lips it would accentuated that too. Next time I will try with less product or with a lip liner as a base. I am thinking to use a bit darker one so it will change the base color of the lipstick... We will see if it works that way.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

Hello

As you can see this is my first post. I have been reading blogs for years now and I have been thinking about making one of my own but the time was never right. Now the stars finally collided, I have the time, nobody around me to bother me and I also got a camera to take photos.
I want this blog to be my platform for expressing my feelings, 'deep' thoughts about beauty and in general creating some sort of a diary for my self, so after a while I can come back and see what I was interested in back in the days.

I feel like this post should have a photo and today I had some errands to do and while I was in the shopping center I took a quick look at the drugstore. On the photo you can see the goodies I bought. I will try them and post a word or two about them tomorrow.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day  :)
