Lost my Bikini in Molokini

 Hello,

I haven't done one of these in a really long time. I'm still painting my nails regularly but don't take the time for a little photo session :)

This time I was wearing bright purple and even though I love lavender there is something about this deeper hue that intrigued me and made me want to wear it more often.

It is O.P.I. Lost my Bikini in Molokini shade which was gifted to me (my sister didn't want it anymore so she decluttered it and gave it to me). I really like the shade but formula... I got tip wear the next day. I thought that was super weird since O.P.I. nail polishes are so expensive but I guess this one wasn't for me. This poor longevity irritated me so much that most probably I will declutter it as well. It is a shame because I really like the shade.

It's a Snow-Woman's World.

 Hello,

I decided to show you the nail polish that I'm wearing right now. I am slightly obsessed with it, it is such a shame that it was only a limited edition color.

It is Essence TE Crystalliced nail polish in the shade It's a Snow-Woman's World.
It comes in a 8 ml bottle and it is a cream light grey color.

Even though it is pretty old it still applies nicely and dries duper fast (in the morning when I wake up it is perfect, no sheet prints).
I love this light grey, often I wear it on its own but sometimes I pair it with a lavender or a mint shade. I want to finish this bottle up this year and I have been wearing it non stop, hence all the combos.
I have some more light grey polishes in my collection which will replace this one nicely but I think I will still miss it.

Into the Dark

 Hello,

I think it is time to show off this pretty varnish. It is one of my favorites and such a jewel in my collection.

It is Essence Vampire's Love LE nail polish in the shade Into the Dark. A beautiful navy color with silver sparkle.
This shade charmed me years ago when I first saw it in the store and I just had to have it. Blue has remained as one of my favorite colors to paint on my nails.

I absolutely love the dark base but as dark as it looks it never comes across as black, it has enough life to it to remain blue. The silver shimmer nicely compliments the paint but when I still had gold top coat with the same sized particles I loved putting that on top and I loved the gold and blue combo.

This nail polish is almost gone and I will miss it dearly but I already bought a deep navy shade which will respectfully replace this love of mine.

Black Magic

 Hello,

I have been wearing light and bright colors for quite a while but now I decided to switch things up by applying something darker on my nails and since I bought this nail varnish a while ago and haven't worn it yet...

Avon mark gel prism nail polish in the shade Black Magic is what you are seeing.
There is a whole collection with a few shades to choose from and I picked up the darkest and witch-y looking one, expecting that it will have the gritty sand finish...

I really like the black base with silver sparkles on top. It makes it more interesting than the regular and basic black varnish but I was a bit disappointed because the finish is smooth and I expected to be rough.

There is nowhere written anything about the finish so expecting something sand like was made up completely in my head and I have no one but myself to blame.

Usually Avon nail polishes are great quality and they last on me so I was surprised to see tip wear after two days but at least tip wear can be fixed, it would be harder if it would start chipping and falling off.

I really like the effect, to look at it it is beautiful but the formula not being their usual bugs me the most and I won't get any more from this collection. I will keep this one and use it but no backups for me.

Galactic Glam

Hello,

I'm still painting my nails and trying to look decent. I rediscovered this lovely nail polish in already old Essence packaging. I remember loving this shade so I just had to try it and wear it again.

Essence Colour & Go galactic Glam nail polish.

It is a beautiful mid toned green with gold and green shimmer. I absolutely love the finish on it and I wish they would have more colors available.

I'm wearing two coats but on some nails I could do three. The next day I added another coat and it looked better. I did got some tip wear but nothing too major (keep in mind that it is an older nail bottle and while it still applies like a dream in the bottle wasn't moving much). On the fourth day I decided to scrub my bathroom and the nail varnish didn't survived it. It chipped and I had to completely remove it. Then I remembered why you have to be extra careful with green and blue nail polishes. My fingers were slightly stained (when I noticed that my skin is turning green I was extra careful) and my nails are a bit more yellow compared to before (I did use a thick layer of base nail polish underneath). Besides with the problems at the removing I don't have anything big to complain about, in fact today I repainted my nails with the same color, I just love it so much.

Pure nail polish

Hello,

for today I have comparison of the two nail varnishes. One new and other one old (discontinued) from the same brand. They are very similar but also different so do I need to keep both?

First is Catrice soft blossom Coachella Vibes and second is from Catrice new Pure line and is called Simplicity (one out of the five shades).

I decided to put Coachella Vibes on my ring finger (the first one on the picture) and Simplicity on the remaining ones. The new pure polish is a bit dustier compared to the CV which is brighter. I wore them for a week and tip wear was approximately the same on all of the nails, the removing process was also the same and with a bit of care they didn't color my cuticles.
I like this new formula but in my opinion the soft blossom varnishes were also awesome. When it comes to the color I actually prefer the discontinued bolder shade and owning both didn't make sense since I'm still trying to downsize my collection. I gave it to my sister who absolutely loves dusty shades and she loves it. She had it on for more than a week and that says a lot. Not only that she loves the shade she also enjoy the formula (Catrice is one of her favorite nail polish brands).
I would like to check the shade no. 2, Clarity (taupy-pink-mauve is how I would describe it).
Thanks to Catrice PR team for sending me this nail polish.

Agatha

Hello,

I had this nail polish for quite a while but since I'm doing the nail polish project (I'm trying to finish up as many bottles as possible, so I'm wearing the same colors over and over again, some newer bottles just don't get their turn which is a shame) I only got around using it now in 2020.

It is Avon nail style studio mark nail varnish in the shade Agatha.

I have a huge crush on the sand finish nail polishes and when I saw this collection I knew I will get at least one of them. I picked purple because I never had purple sand finish polish before.

There are some bigger glitters thrown in the mix for that extra special factor but are a nightmare to remove. This as all of gritty varnishes lasted on me for a long time, I had to remove it because my nails grow so much and there was too much 'empty' space from the nail bed. I love that these are so low maintenance.

Electric Blue

Hello,

lovely blue shade that has the power to pull me out whenever I feel a bit blue...

Essence the gel nail polish in Electric Blue (you would expect a bright, royal blue with that name but actually it is light close to pastel but it is still somewhat bright).
Mine is in the old packaging and as far as I know this shade isn't available in the 'new' design but all in all the shade isn't that special that you can't find it with different brands.

It is not that unique but it does make me happy when I wear it. To me it is that bright periwinkle shade that is one of my favorite blue shades ever to wear on my nails. I love to wear it in the hot Summer or cold Winter, no matter the temperature I will rock it and wear it with joy.

Electric Blue and Royal Vendetta

Hello,

blue nail polish is one of my favorite things and last year I bought and received plenty of them so my collection really grew (in blue department) and so I also discovered two very similar tones. Both were given to me by my sister who isn't into blue varnish that much so I adopted them and wore them together to see just how similar they are.

First is Essence show your feet (I think this line of polishes is no longer available) in Electric Blue and Avon gel finish in Royal Vendetta.
Bright blues sometimes don't need a shimmer to shine. Both are glitter free and so electric, bright and happy even though they are cool tones.

The difference isn't very obvious but on the first nail (ring finger I'm wearing the Essence one) and on the other two is Avon's. Essence still comes across as a bit brighter and makes the Royal Vendetta from Avon look a bit dusty.
I think they are both beautiful and since I love blues I can't force myself into giving one of the bottles away. They both were rather okay at removing. They didn't particularly stain my nails, the cuticles were looking a bit green from both but extra soaked cotton pad removed even that.
I decided to use Electric Blue from Essence from now on (because I like it a bit more) and when I will finish it I will work on the Avon bottle.

Miracle Stone

Hello,

I still have some nail polishes that I haven't tried out yet and my goal for this year is to at least use all of them at least once.

Essence the gel nail polish in Miracle Stone. This was another snatch right before they discontinued this line and replace it with different bottle design.

It is supposed to be matte but I would say it is semi matte. I love the little sparkle and when I add the shiny top coat is shines even more.

The sparkles aren't really white or silver but duochrome pink and gold. It is unusual but lovely at the same time. I really enjoyed wearing it and I can't wait for the next time to put it on. With the amount of the bottles that I have it will take a while  ;)
Removing it was easy and I haven't experience any chips. Essence can really make good nail polishes for really cheap.

Rockablue

Hello,

it is time to change my nail polish and use something 'new'. I bought 8 bottles of Essence nail varnishes when they were replacing them with the new design at the beginning of this year and I still haven't wear all of them. My mission is to use all of the nail polishes that I haven't try previously and with this grey number there is one less on the list.

First is Essence the gel nail polish in Rockablue and second is Essence shine last & go Millennial Pink (new formula and bottle design). I already raved about the soft pink one here.

I did this fun manicure with interchanging colors and I think that the two pastels went together lovely. I previously already wore the Millennial Pink and it is magnificent. With two coats I reach full opacity and there is no streaking. The Rockablue (it is more grey than blue but the undertone is blue) is thinner but still I can reach full opacity in two coats. It is not full on glossy but also not matte, something in between. I love wearing both of these colors separately or together (I will definitely match them again soon).

Essence makes lovely nail polishes in my opinion and I can't really distinguish between the new and old formula, they both work for me and if something will catch my eye I will for sure buy it, especially they being so inexpensive.

Flamingold

Hello,

another day another nail polish. Lately I have been on a neutral kick and I'm loving it especially if they have some shimmer to it and this one is sparkling.

Essence the gel nail polish in the shade called Flamingold even though I see this color more bronze than gold.

This color was the second one that I had some reservations but since it was so cheap (1€ because I got it on sale) I still purchased it. The other one is On air! that I reviewed last week but both surprised me and turn out to be among my favorites.

Just like the golden shade On air! this one also has some silver sparkles to keep it on the cool side but the shimmer is smaller and therefore also easier to remove.

I find this color to be lovely, neutral but it sill packs some punch on the Sun. I honestly can decide which one I like better but thankfully I don't even need to ;)

Fascinating Grace and nail oil with coconut and monoi oil

Hello,

a little while ago Catrice surprised me with a lovely package of their new products. The other day I was doing my nails and I just had to try the two nail related products for myself to see what is what. I love cuticle care and sparkling nail polish so expectations were high.

When the promo photos started to circle around my heart skipped a bit when I saw these gold effect nail polishes so getting one of the shades was amazing. They send me the fancy looking rose gold number named Fascinating Grace and alongside is the nail oil with coconut and monoi oil (it smells delicious).

Fascinating Grace is full on shimmery nail varnish and oh so beautiful. Application is easy and two coats are enough for full coverage.

I compared the Catrice oil with Essence nail care serum that I received last year. They both do amazing job at moisturizing dry cuticles the difference being in the scent (Catrice one wins here because the Essence serum is scentless) and feeling. One is a serum so it sinks in pretty fast but if my cuticles are extremely dry I need two or three coats while with the Catrice oil one layer is enough but it also take a while to absorb.

Here I have two coats of Fascinating Grace on and it might look like it does not offer full coverage but I can assure you that this is just an illusion, light is playing tricks with my camera.
It is very modest looking in terms of color because it does not stand out and jet it catches the light so effortless. I had plenty of fun wearing this nail varnish for a full week.

The finish is smooth (no grittiness from the particles even without top coat) and removing wasn't too annoying. It did took me a bit longer but not as long as it does with glittery nail polishes.
All in all I was not disappointed with these two buddies, in fact I'm eyeing the red and purple varnish within the same collection...

On air!

Hello,

I purchased this nail polish at the beginning of this year and I was just starring at it. I wasn't so sure that I made the right choice by picking it up. Do you also get the hives while at the store but when you sit in the car and contemplate you realize that you really didn't need it and that it is perhaps not a color you would wear?

Anyways, for this Essence On air! nail varnish I didn't really have high hopes. Golds are tricky for me, in general I like them also I prefer gold than silver jewellery but I have issues when gold is too yellow..

Thankfully this one is almost cool toned gold. It is made with tons and tons of sparkles and some of them are also silver, not too much because it still looks gold but the result is more neutral toned.

Putting it on I immediately bonded with it. The shine that these sparkles produce is insane and the tone is just right. I'm super glad that they decided to keep this shade (I have the old curvy bottle but you can get it in the new version everywhere where they sell Essence). It lasted on me for super long time as shimmery nail polishes do and even the removing process wasn't too bad. A bit longer than with the creamy varnish but not as time consuming as with glitters.
I love how it sparkled on the sun and under the lamp. The color is subtle enough to go with every outfit (if you care about that) but the shine adds something special so it is never boring or 'just neutral'. I think I have found the one, the one that I can wear to any occasion but still feel special. I love when a simple thing like nail polish can make me feel like that.

Glitter Choc

Hello,

this beauty accompany me last week and even though the dark colors are more suited in the cooler months this one made some sense in the Summer. It is dark and neutral to go with everything but still sparkly to get enough attention.

It is Essence the gel nail polish in Glitter Choc. I grabbed it when it was getting discontinued back in January.

It is a dark brown with some purple undertones but it doesn't look purple. The sparkles and more like flakes that shimmer and they reflect blue, purple and silver. The base is warm and the shine is cool toned, interesting combination that I haven't seen in any other nail varnish.

What is interesting is that on the nails it looks different. The brown base is mistaken for a black and only under direct sunlight you can see the chocolate hue. I'm not bothered by it, actually I think it is cool to have a nail polish which is such a chameleon and change color and shift light in different variations.
In some smaller stores I still spotted some of the 'old' Essence bottles so if I like some of the old colors you might still find them with some effort.

Btw, removing was quite easy. I had to rub a little more because of the sparkle but not as much as if it would be a full sparkler and most importantly my skin around nails didn't got tinted or stained which is much appreciated.

Tip Top Taupe

Hello,

another beauty from already discontinued line of Essence nail polishes (I still saw plenty of bottles in some close to me stores so you might still can find some). I love Essence nail varnishes because they are inexpensive, they last on me and have plenty of shades to choose from.

This one is Essence the gel nail polish in the Tip Top Taupe color. Such an interesting shade, not too grey or beige but a perfect mix of the two.
It reminds me of doves because even they aren't completely grey, right?

It does depends from the light and your undertone. I think on me it looks a bit more grey but since I'm a fan of grey nail tips I'm a happy kid whenever I wear it.
It lasted on me an average 5-6 days until I had to remove but mostly because my nails grow like weed and the gap between was getting too big for my liking.

When they discontinued them I rushed to the store and bought 8 different shades and this one is the third out of the bunch that I tried the other five will soon follow.

Time For Romance, Stress Does Not Go Well With My Polish and My Dear Reindeer

Hello,

this week I'm on a vacation (I stayed at home but I don't need to go to work) so I'm playing with my make up a lot and having coffee with friend's I haven't seen in a long time. I thought it is the perfect time to do something fun with my nails because I haven't done anything glittery or super colorful in a while.

I dig out two polishes but then my brains were, wait! Don't I already have 'this' glitter?
It was face off time. I used old Essence Time for Romance and newer Catrice Stress Does Not Go Well With My Polish and the color is Essence My Dear Reindeer. The two glitter nail polishes does look similar in the bottle, right?

On the nails you can clearly see the difference. Not only does the Essence one have more obvious sized particle differences but the smaller particles are holographic and sparkle much more. All in all they are not the same or similar but I was thinking do I need both? I don't wear sparkles as often as I did so having two in the same color seemed pointless. My eyes immediately goes to the Time for Romance shade and so I decided to give the Catrice one with the super long name away to my sister. The cool grey polish I will keep and I will try to use it up as soon as possible because it is getting a bit old otherwise I really like it.

Millennial Pink

Hello,

as you already probably know Essence has come out with a different bottle design and formula with their nail varnishes. I liked the old curvy bottles but these bullet styled ones are not too bad. I was lucky to receive one of the colors to try it out.

Essence Shine last & go! in the color Millennial Pink. It looks like a straight forward pastel pink but I have noticed that it leans toward peachy territory on me.

I was scared that it will be the typical pastel, streaky and hard to apply but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong. It applies like any other nail polish (for pastels that is a big compliment). I have used two coats and got very nice result. The finish is super glossy.

I'm actually very impressed by this color since I avoid pastels even though I like them but I despise their formula. I see that they also have a dusty pale blue (I have to check it out in the store).
I actually wore this baby twice, the color is so nice on my skin tone, neutral but still in a way bright, it also makes me look a bit more tan. I bet it will be even better in the summertime.

I think Essence did well with their new line of nail polishes judging only by one color (I know, I know that is not enough) but even before their vanishes were the bomb so I will definitely buy some more colors from them.

Welcome to the Universe

Hello,

it seems like everybody is ready for fall and prepared matte murky lipsticks which are all aligned along the changing leaves colored eye shadows but honesty I'm still not ready for it.
To rebel against described color scheme I picked one of the newer nail varnishes which stands out like a cucumber among apples.

It is Essence Cosmic Lights nail polish in the cool silver shade Welcome to the Universe.

It has foil finish with tons of holographic glitter particles which shine in numerous colors, hence the holo. They are large and make the finish rough and not so smooth as the regular foils do.

It applied really nicely with two coats and dried super fast. I had to operate faster than usually so I think it is especially convenient when you are in a hurry.

Maybe you can see the bumpy surface better here. The multicolored glitter only shows up on a direct sunlight or under strong fluorescent lights otherwise it looks bubbly.

I was a bit disappointed but I'm sure there are people who are looking for something just like that. Maybe it is also the shade that I received from PR team. At the beginning of the year I received this beauty. They are very similar minus the glitter and I decided that I like the Catrice one better so this Essence nail varnish will find another home but I will check out the blue one. It seems like it is the darkest out of the bunch and I would like it much better. The bumpy/bubbly surface wouldn't even bother me with such beautiful base. I will report back if I will end up buying it.
