Empties

 Hello,

this is the second part of June empties. I finished them up right after my Summer vacation.

First bottle is Korres White tea body wash light with light mandarine and tea like scent. To me it was the closest to clean laundry scent. Nice but forgettable and not very strong so it faded away pretty fast. If the scent would linger longer.

On vacation I have used up this mini Victor & Rolf spicebomb night vision body wash. It had a strong, sharp masculine scent. I usually don't mind masculine scents but this one was really spicy and strong, opposed to the White Tea for Korres this one lasted and made entire bathroom smell like it. Something strong, maybe cedar? That I din not enjoy that much and I was glad to use it up. I will not be buying it in a perfume form :)

This next one is an old one, Nivea essentials 1 minute urban detox mask 3in1. I used to love it and bought this tube, then forget about it until this year. It is a thicker white paste with beads in it, it can be used for a quick wash, left on bare face to dry out like clay mask are rub to get exfoliated. I didn't notice any big difference like I used to (this is not my first tube) so I will not be buying it again. I am not even sure it is still available.

I used up this entire tube of Afrodita cosmetics sun care sport suncream 30 SPF water resistant sun lotion with nice coconut/tropical scent. I used it together with my boyfriend and we loved the fast absorption and no white streaks. There was no greasy feeling or stickiness just lovely scent and lots of protection :) I would prefer SPF 50 but they didn't have it.

In the blue bottle there is what was my favorite face sun lotion Shiseido expert sun protector face & body lotion SPF 50. The texture is very liquid, so I always make sure to shake it well (there are some balls in it that make sound so it was even more enjoyable to shake it and I would never forget to do so). There is no white cast and just a slight greasy feeling but after a 5 to 10 min. It was my favorite for a while but then I tried the next one and the Shiseido moved a place downwards. I still have a big bottle left and it will be used up next year but my favorite is below.

Out of curiosity I tried Skin 1004 Madagascar centella hyalu-cica wate-fit sun serum SPF 50. It is mini 15ml mini, enough to try out and fall in love. It is slightly more liquid than Shiseido, no white cast and it absorbs quicker with no greasy feeling. I had enough for three weeks of constant use and I fell in love with it. I already had to get myself a new tube and slightly bigger one. I don't think I will be able to finish the new larger tube this year but it will wait for me till next Spring and I will see if the love will still be strong.

31 October 2024

 Hello,

my vacation came and went. It happened so fast and I am still recovering from it :) even though it ended in September, the memories are still alive.

I used two Avon care glycerine hand and nail creams, Jasmine with vitamin E and glycerine. I had one at home and one at work. These are some of my favorites. Lightweight but with real results. I probably already have some backups :)

Next is my purse hand cream from Frudia and this time I went through the Cherry hand cream version. Lovely scent and the lightweight texture (white cap has light weight cream and dark brown lid usually contains heavier cream inside). This one was one of my favorites and I would get it again, the formula is absolutely lovely, the price is low and the packaging is small enough to fit into my purse.

Next in line is Garnier ambre solare sensitive expert SPF 50+ face cream. I tried it on my face but it was too heavy for me, too greasy and I had a light white cast so that is a point down for me. I recently tried two different asian face creams with high SPF and I prefer those two over this Garnier one. I used it on my body until I completely empty this tube.

The Body Shop Refresing Passionfruit joghurt for normal to dry skin with cooling effect was amazing scent wise. So juicy and fruity :) the texture was very light, almost gel like but moisturising properties were very low. That is my only complaint, body moisturiser wasn't moisturising enough but the scent was phenomenal.

Next to it is Shiseido x Roxy after sun intensive recovery emulsion. I also have a full size but for this years vacation I decided to go with the mini. It is very liquid and slightly too sharp in scent. I haven't had any burns (thank god) but light texture didn't feel anything special. Next year I will use up the big size but honestly I don't think this item is anything special for me.

Last item in line is very similar to the previous. It is Biotherm anti - drying body milk with citrus essences. Slightly less watery but with a more pronounced citrus scent. This one also wasn't my favorite and thankfully I don't have any backups. I received it as a free gift while buying products from the brand and there are some nice face creams (I have a stash) but this one just didn't wow me.

Super old Essence plumping nudes in the shade XXL charm. With this one I had a love and hate relationship. Some months I loved the frosty finish and slightly lighter shade on my lips and afterwards came times I really disliked it. All in all I am in love faze and I would get it again if it would be available, now I am on a hunt for something similar.

I have these old lipsticks from Avon limited edition in Sumptuous Nectar and Rose Enchantment. Bright coral was my favorite and I will miss it while the pink one wasn't that special in terms of shade. They were light but buildable and shiny - exactly how I like my lipsticks. The Nectar one will be missed.

Next in line is Maybelline Desert Bloom lipstick. It is also super old and I don't know if they stil sell them... I liked the neutral shade and the sheen but for my taste it could be a little less pigmented. I doubt I will get it again but only because I prefer light pigmentation on my lips.

Under hot pink lid is Make up Revolution London Juicy Pout lip gloss with Cherry, Raspberry and Jojoba oil in the Watermelon option. It was clear with tiny sparkles. I am not a big fan of glittery lips but this was so little, just enough to add some shine and I ended up loving it. It lasted decent amount of time (it could be better) but since I don't have big success with products from this brand I have to say this gloss was probably my favorite item from them that I have tried.

The very last item is Clarins lip perfector in the 01 shade. It is lovely light pink, almost clear. It has a sweet caramel like scent but unfurtunately it doesn't last long on my lips. It is very popular but to me is mere average.  Probably I won't be buying it again unless I will find it super cheap. Then I might reconsider it.

Empties

 Hello,

I just got back from a short trip to the beachside and managed to finish up some SPF lotions, unfortunately none of these will be repurchased since I found others to suit me better.

First item is this large, 400 ml bottle of Ziaja Orange butter body lotion. It took me months to finish it up and I'm still not sick of it. Love the convenient pump and the lotion type of this moisturizer, it spread easily and nourished my skin (no dry or itchy skin) and the scent is mild but very lovely orange blossom type. Very nice to go to bed and sleep well with it. I will repurchase it.

Next is another Ziaja product but this one is sun cream for the face with high SPF 50 in a light shade. Surprisingly the shade is not orange at all and I can see people actually match this shade, for me it was still too dark but I'm pretty pale. Putting shade aside the formula was a bit weird. At first it looks nice but since it is a bit greasy (still it is a chemical sun protection with ingredient called Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzonate) it takes some rubbing to get it around and then the tint starts to separate and I just couldn't get an even application no matter how much I tried. There were areas full of tint and some without, it looked weird so at the end I just used it all over my legs and even then I had to be careful not to rub them together (since the tint would lift and start flaking) or rub it against some fabric. It did survive swimming in the ocean since after an hour of being in the water the tint was still there, uneven but still.

Neutrogena Hydro boost city protect fluid with SPF 25 intrigued me since I love their oil free face moisturizer which comes in the same packaging... I thought that this might be similar but with added SPF, a quick check at the ingredients list told me I was wrong and also the formula feels very different. It feels like a cream but doesn't absorb quickly, it also leaves a greasy residue which I don't like on my already oily skin and it is just slightly tinted light blue. It is a chemical sun cream and contains Octocrylene. I haven't used it on my face more that three times since I didn't like the feeling on my face but I used it on my body and I had no reactions or sun burns.

My tube of Skinfood Tomato sun cream with SPF 35++ is very old. I used to love to use it on my face but I was never able to finish it up, so this year I just took it with me and layer it over some other sun creams all over my body. It is a true mineral protection with Zinc Oxide and cast a white layer all over. At first it is pretty greasy but over a few minutes it tones it down (it was not matte but not overly greasy). I always put some BB cream over it (I like a little coverage even at the beach + some tint helps with a white cast). This never cause my skin to break out so I thought that it will be forever repurchased but since I found something better with no white residue so I won't buy it again.

Next is one of my favorite deodorants and it is Nivea deo beauty elixir deomil fresh option. I had different one before within the same line and would get it again but they discontinued this line of products and I was only able to get one bottle of this fresh version. It is very similar in term of scent, creamy and some what fresh, like clean laundry. Since it is a deodorant it didn't stop me from sweating but I'm okay with it as long I don't stink. This really was nice (love the creamy non-irritable texture and pleasant scent) so I was disappointed when I couldn't find it anymore.

And the very last item is The Body Shop tea tree anti-imperfection daily solution. I love tea tree products since my skin likes them and my acne not so much :) I loved using it in the evening under my moisturizer. It is a watery serum which absorbed quickly into my skin. Did it make my skin drastically different? I honestly don't know but the psychological effect felt real. Give me products with tea tree scent and I will apply them regularly with joy ;) I might repurchase it since the easily absorbed formula felt good.

Empties

 Hello,

I'm fresh from my Summer vacation and I feel super rejuvenated. I could finish up more than just two bottles of sun lotion but I was rotating among different tubes and that was all I could finish.

DM brand called Sun Dance makes affordable sun lotions and by my experiences very nice ones (they do protect my skin from UVB light because I don't burn ;). First is light sun lotion with SPF 20 with Coconut scent (very nice and tropical if I my add and it doesn't turn plastick-y). It is a mineral protection with Titanium Dioxide and because it is in nano particles it is not sticky or white. I actually really like it and because the protection is a bit lower as what I normally go for I layer it with something else and in this case I used another Sun Dance item. Sensitive sun lotion with calming Panthenol and with SPF 30. It contains the same mineral filter in nano particles but this one is a bit thicker and greasier for the first few minutes but after it sinks in I can't feel it at all. These two were with me last year already and I also came back from my vacation burn free and with a hint of tan. I will repurchase them again but I'm afraid that they revamped their range and have completely different range of products now...

Online I purchase this Jojoba oil from Dr. Feelgood brand that honesty I haven't herd of before. I really liked the packaging but the oil didn't feel quite right. I'm used to thicker oils and this one was extra thin. The good part was that it absorbed really fast and I used it as a moisturizer but I purchase it as an oil to remove my make-up and for that thicker texture is preferred. With this one I'm really on the fence because it isn't a bad product just not quite what I expected... and I'm not sure if I would repurchase it again.

Last two items are two face powders. First is Essence all about matt waterproof fixing powder which was available only in one white shade. This did gave me a bit of a white cast so I had to be careful when applying to prevent me from looking like Casper the ghost. I believe because the formula is waterproof it was extra drying so sometimes when applied over fresh, slightly sticky make-up it looked a bit cakey but the longer I had it on, the better it looked. Obviously, the illusion didn't last all day long (I have extremely oily skin) so after around four or five hours my natural oils would come through and I needed to touch up but it was better to use a different powder on top because this one looked too cakey. I'm glad that it is gone and I wouldn't repurchase it again even if it would still be available (I believe it is long discontinued).

The second is one of my favorite ones and it is Rimmel London Stay Matte in the shade Transparent. This one looks good applied over fresh make-up or reapplied through the day. The shade is great (but I also think that it doesn't have that much of coverage) and it is super inexpensive. I just ordered two more so I guess I can say that I love it :)

Empties

 Hello,

I just got from my beach vacation and I seriously thought I will finish more SPF infused products but I took with me way too many bottles and use all of them, so no wonder I couldn't completely finish up many.

First is Milnica's Almond oil. I liked this thicker oil (it doesn't absorb super fast into the skin) on my face to help me remove my make-up but soon I realized that my skin doesn't like it which resulted in some new acne. I quickly switch it to my body and managed to finish it up. I like it but I prefer oils which I can use on my face and body so I won't be buying it again.

I purchased this sun protecting lotion for the face a while ago. It is Vichy ideal soleil SPF 50 emulsion mattifying face fluid with a dry touch. High protection and matte finish really caught my attention but unfortunately didn't work for me. At first it is greasy, just like any other SPF cream, it takes a while to settle and even then I had a feeling like my make-up doesn't sit well on my skin (it created a layer on my face so foundation couldn't grip and when my skin got oily it just moved around). It also has a non typical scent, more alcohol and something artificial, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if they would claim that they didn't add any fragrances to make it more pleasant. At the end I used it up on my arms and legs, far away from my face.

Avon care glycerine hand & nail cream with and vitamin E hand cream has to be one of my favorites. I love this light jet moisturizing formula and the scent is somewhat clean (like fresh soap), I don't get much floral. I think this is discontinued but I should have a backup or two left.

Krauterhof aloe very gel was somewhat failed purchase. I remember they had a really good deal if you get two of them (which I of course did ;). The first one is already gone and this is the second one and I'm overjoyed. Aloe vera gel from Fruits of the Earth is my favorite but can be a little expensive so I opted for this brand thinking I will get the same thing for less. I still remember when I applied a thick coat of it all over my face and after a couple of minutes my face started to tingle (it felt like my face is covered with tiny ants, not quite burning sensation but very unpleasant) I checked myself in the mirror and notice my face turned bright red (neck and chest areas where I also used the gel were normal). I quickly washed it off and promised myself that I will never again buy cheap aloe vera. I used it on my body and as a hair gel.

Next is my beloved Fruit of the earth aloe vera gel which is the best that I tried. This is the large bottle and it took me years to finish it up. There is no irritations just relieved skin. I love putting it into toners (it completely dissolves if you use little bit and amp up the moisturizing properties), under my oils, after sun exposure, on bug bites, on my hair (it is a fabulous hair gel, on its own or again you can mix it with some water and pour it into a spray bottle if that is your preferred way of applying it) and probably there are some more ways to use it but I can't think of at the moment. I already repurchased it but this time in a smaller tube.

The very last item is Avon advance technique sun-light spray beautifying hair protector with UV protection. It had this signature AT scent which I love and since I am slightly obsessed with applying SPF on my skin I thought why not protecting my hair? It turns out I would mostly forget about it and again it took me years to finish it up. Most of it was also used on a vacation where I used tons of it at once. I even added some shimmer in it (I crushed one of my older highlighters which I didn't love anymore) and finally this year it is gone. I don't think I will repurchase it again because I just couldn't get into a habit of using it.

Empties

Hello,

a little late but never the less, my empties are here.
I feel like this time I have a good pile of awesome and some disappointing products, I feel that I usually have only good products...

First is Essence instant matt make-up fixing spray which I liked a lot. In fact this is my second bottle of it and I thought that I will repurchase this baby also in the future until the Catrice Active Warrior (LE spray) came out and I figure it out that that is even better. Since then I bought the Catrice matte fixing spray and I hope that it is just as good as the le one but this means that I will no longer repurchase this Essence one.

Avon's Little sequin Dress lotion was something I had my eyes on ever since it came out. Initially I wanted the perfume but since the lotions are easier to go though I bought myself this tube and I though that this scent will be the greatest (every time there was a scented page in the brochure I would rub my wrist and enjoy in the scent) but I was left a bit disappointed. The scent is still nice but nothing too special. It has that creamy rose scent mixed with some other flowers, it is not super sweet more so fresh. I like it a lot but it doesn't excite me as some other scent do so I won't buy anything else with this scent.

I was gifted this Afrodita cosmetics Passion fruit cream shower gel when I bought one of their sun lotions (my parents only use their sun lotions so once when they were on sale I bough a tube for them and received this as a gift with purchase). It had nice fruity scent, very invigorating and these natural looking beads (you can see them at the left bottom corner), not scrubby enough to do anything but rather annoying to clean after I was done with my shower. I would give them A+ for the scent but I would make them without extra particles.

The Body Shop Vitamin C glow protect lotion with SPF 30 wasn't as white as I expected and it did give me some glow (oily skin nightmare). I test it alongside with another sun lotion and I used each on one half of the face and went for a walk. After a couple of hours my face started to itch, the kind of itch that pimples are causing it (the nasty ones that grows under the skin and you can't do anything and are super painful) but only on the side of my face where I used this TBS vitamin C one. I have never ever used it on my face again, those acne took almost three weeks to heal and I wasn't ready to repeat it. Instead I used it on my arms where I had zero problems, it also has a nice pleasant citrus scent.

In the silver tube there is Skin 79 super plus triple functions BB cream. This brand is one of my favorites when it comes to the BB creams (I love the orange, V.I.P. gold, hot pink, oriental, I even like the green and purple even though I only tried the samples), this one was the weakest of them all. Coverage was barely there, more like a tinted moisturizer and it didn't cover anything, maybe blur and that is not what I was looking for. I ended up using it on my neck and chest to get some color (so my face covered in foundation didn't look too out of place plus I appreciated the sun protection I got from it, only 25 but still something). I definitely won't repurchase it.

Second to last is one of my favorite mascaras and it is already discontinued I think, I can't find it in the latest brochure, I hope they will come back with it. It is Avon Infinitize black mascara (I probably received this shade in a set where I couldn't choose the color, I normally go for the brown/black version).

The brush is really interesting but very easy to navigate. It has spikes also at the very tip so you can get those tiny ones in the corner as well. I never had issues applying it to my lower lash line ether. The formula was great as it is with Avon mascaras and even a little bit of rain or tears couldn't smudge it even though it is not waterproof or water resistant. I'm telling you Avon mascaras are the best, Catrice comes really close.

The very last items is Avon ultra glazewear Mullberry lip gloss. Another beloved product of mine. I love love love Avon glosses but sometimes it is hard to get the right shade (I'm very picky). This was a limited shade at first but now they have it for years so I guess it is not so very limited  ;)  It is soft pink with almost milky tendency so if you have pigmented lips this could look odd. When my lips were a tad too red I applied softer pink lipstick and then I topped it of with a gloss to avoid my natural lip color show through and it looked so lovely with my complexion.

I am thinking of repurchasing this shade but I still have 20 glosses left and a lot of them are pink. Since this shade is not going anywhere I will wait and get it someday in the future, maybe next year.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Empties

Hello,

this time I feel like I don't have that many empties as usually but some of them took me a long time to get through so I'm glad that I can finally trash them.

First is the Aveo Lotus nail polish remover. It is very cheap and it does its job. I already bought new bottle in a different 'scent'.

Himalaya purifying neem foaming face wash is my favorite face wash. This is the third bottle that I went through and I will definitely repurchase it again but for now I have some other bottles that I need to use up.

The next product has been in my stash for years. I remember also buying the lotion which was used up shortly after buying it but the wash stayed hidden for so long. It is Avon Skin So Soft body wash with watermint. It smelled nicely refreshing but not as minty as I would like. The texture was a smidge too watery for me so whenever I used it I pour way too much. I had it for less than a month and it was gone too soon.

Hawaiian Tropic makes wonderfully scented sun lotions. I used up this Silk Hydration face protective sun lotion with 30 SPF. It was too greasy for my face so I never really use it and I just let it sit in my drawl until this year. I used it as a 'regular' lotion on my arms because of the delicious coconut scent but on top I would always apply something with an unexpired SPF. In the future I am interested to buy more body sun protection from them but only on sale because they are a bit more expensive than the recently reviewed Sun Dance brand.

Figs & Rouge Rambling Rose multipurpose balm is the little pot in front. I had two other scents which I purchase at the same time and I wish I didn't. They are simply not moisturizing enough for me. I would use them at night and in the morning my lips would be dry and in desperate need of moisture. I should just toss it right away but I can't prepare myself to throw products away just like that. I did like the Rose scent but that was all that I liked.

The very last item is this huge 700 ml bottle of Avon naturals full volume Raspberry and Hibiscus shampoo. It used to be my favorite because not only it smells fresh like Raspberries but it also made my hair smooth, voluminous and a bit textured (my natural hair state is flat and straight). This time I didn't noticed any of it and I even had a feeling like it didn't cleansed them completely. I am very disappointed and I won't repurchase it any time soon maybe next year I will try it again but I will definitely get the smaller bottle first.

Empties

Hello,

I'm a little off schedule with my empties but for that I can 'blame' my vacation. I came back yesterday and it was amazing. I spent a lot of time on the sun with tons of sun cream on so I didn't got burn, next year I'm buying Sun Dance lotions again but maybe not the same ones.

I used up two Sun Dance SPF lotions. The first is the Melon scented foam (last year I bought two of them and used up the Strawberry one in the same Summer). I liked this fresher scent better but otherwise the foam that comes out is sticky (not great for an everyday life but on the beach I don't mind greasy feeling). It was waterproof so especially great for swimming but I used it up pretty fast.
Then I started to use another SPF 30 lotion with coconut scent also a bit greasy, not so much, but this one was a thicker white cream. None of these two was my favorite, one too sticky the other was too white but my skin stayed protected and that is all that matters. Sun Dance has a large collection of sun lotions and every year they come out with some new ones so I'm sure I will find something suited for my needs next year.

To retain moisture I used this Avon naturals Apricot and Shea lotion (not the most moisturizing in the world) but the light texture and pleasant scent convinced me. I think this is my third bottle of this particular one and now it is no longer available so it is also the last one.

Dove makes great deodorants/antiperspirants for me and this one was another winner. I really like the roll-ons even though you have to wait a little longer to dry before putting clothes on. The scent on this Mineral Touch was fresh and clean, just how I want to feel and smell after a long day on the sun.

The very last one is also an oldie. It is Avon Be Serene... perfume. I remember there were three different ones in this Be... collection but I only got the 'blue' one. It smelled very fresh and a bit flowery, nothing too much, think of a fabric softener, something like that. Their original Perceive smells very similar.

L'oreal infallible 24-h matte Vanilla foundation is already repurchased. I love this high coverage, buildable and matte foundation. It is my go-to and I'm already using the new tube. My only complain would be the dark shade but to fix that I buy The Body Shop lightening drops and I adjust the shade every morning to match me perfectly.

Catrice made under TE Active Warrior this wonderful make-up freezing spray. I received one bottle as PR but I went and bought two more bottles. This one is the first one to go but I have backups to last me through this year.

Another Catrice item sent to me was this lashes to kill waterproof mascara. I already raved about it and I still love it. The brush isn't rubbery and that worried me a little at first but after I tried it it was great. It was lenghtening and volumizing, the only thing that was lacking was the curl hold other than that it was really nice and I think I will repurchase it for my sister's wedding which is just around the corner.

This is another repurchase and probably by now everyone has already discovered how great are Catrice concealers. This liquid camouflage Porcellain concealer is especially great for under eye area because it isn't so drying. I love this one around my eyes and the pot version for all over my face. While the cream one lasts very long this liquid one gets used up relatively fast, thank God it is inexpensive ;)

The very last Catrice products is Pure Brilliants Next Stop Golden Gate Bridge colour lip balm I loved the Pure Shine balms but when they were discontinuing them I couldn't find any in desired shade so I picked up this one thinking it would be similar just with shimmer. I was right the formula was similar, nourishing and glossy but the balm is packed with shimmer so I had to be careful not to end up looking like a clown, the orange tint didn't help ether. I would get the Pure Shines one in a heartbeat but the Pure Brilliants left me cold.

We are almost at the finish line with this second Essence invisible kiss transparent lip liner in Multitalent Wonder shade. It is essentially just a clear waxy liner which 'seals' the lips especially if they are dry or chapped. It runs smoothly over lines and makes lips smooth so when I would go over with a tinted lip product no one could tell that my lips weren't in their best condition. I have another backup but I already bought one from Avon which I haven't put it to the test jet.

Essence Pure Nude powder in Nude Beige was so so for me. Nothing too impressive so when I found better ones I started to use this one on my neck (I drag my foundation or BB cream down my neck and chest area, it depends from my shirt cut and because I wear my hair down I have to powder my neck as well otherwise my hair would get stuck). For that I always use powders that aren't my favorite and just use them up, that happened to this one and I'm happy to see it gone.

The Terra Naturi Ivory face powder was on the other hand a very good one. Too bad that it is gone. They repackaged the whole line and while they still have face powders they have different packaging and I don't know if they are the same. I will probably try one in the future but at the moment I think I have four or five quite full face powders that needs to be used up before I get some more.

Empties

Hello,

we are already in the second part of August and Summer is almost over. I am excited for Autumn but I hate Winter, cold and snow just aren't my thing so clinging on Summer inspired product is a recurring thing for me.

First we have Essence keep it perfect fixing spray. I already talked about it in July and I still agree that it works for me. It doesn't keep my skin matte but it prevents my make-up from separating in this hot weather. There is a tiny bit left in the bottle but I can't get it out so I when I will repurchase it I will just pour what is left in the new bottle. I mentioned that I would like to try the matte version but I couldn't find it so I will repurchase this one.

Next we have a Sun Dance SPF 30 sun cream or should I say foam.

I bought both versions, the one above that is empty smells like sweet strawberries and the other one that still has some product left is melon scented. They both have rather strong fragrances but they don't smell plasticky or too fake.

Before every use you shake it and press the top button and this dense foam comes out (can you see a cat on the above photo?), it spreads very easy but it does leave a sticky feeling behind. I don't mind it when I'm on the beach because I get sweaty anyways but I don't like to use it in my everyday life. I find this product interesting, it is something new but I won't be repurchasing it again. The melon scented one I will use next year on a vacation and that will be it.

This Avon Calming Effects redness corrector green primer is super old. I actually haven't use it in years, it was just sitting there and taking space. I finally picked it up and toss it away. I don't think it was available for long, maybe that is because it is nothing special? I remember it being pretty green and sticky. After applying it all over my face it didn't feel good, I was convinced that my make-up won't be able to cover the color up correctly and the stickiness bothered me too much. This one was definitely a failed purchase for me.

Another Avon make up product in the line. This is old Avon SuperShock Vivid liquid eye shadow in Chromed Cocoa. It comes in this lip gloss type of packaging with the dove foot applicator, the pigment settles on the bottom and water like liquid stays at the top before using it you have to shake it to mix the two component and then you apply it straight to the lid. At first it feels a bit wet but it settles quickly so you have to be fast, I used the applicator to get it on the lid and then I blend it with my fingertips. The color sheers out but you can always apply more layer but be careful, it can start look patchy and thick if you use too much. I personally prefer more sheer look so one layer was usually enough but it gets more orangey bronze, I also struggled with the perfect application. On one eye I always used more than on the other or went too high up in my crease. To get the symmetrical look on both eyes was hard, I started to force myself to use it more often but I decided to stop. I have way too many beautiful eye shadows that are much easier to navigate and I like the colors better so why bother?

Second to last product is a replacement. Mine was exactly the same only in the old packaging. I took it with me on a vacation because it was almost empty and I estimated that I will be able to use it up completely but I must of lost it so I borrowed my moms new version of it. It is Avon ultra shiny gloss in Naturally Nude (now it is offered under the Mark brand and has white details instead of black). These glosses are some of my favorite and I was so happy that they came back with them. I used to own 7 tubes of them but now I'm gradually using them all up, in fact I'm only left with two and when they will be gone I will repurchase them again. My favorite and still available are Watermelon Pop and the one above in Naturally Nude. This shade is nude with a hint of peach in it and it has a cream finish (some shades have shimmer). They smell fruity and sweet and last for quite a while. The convenient tube makes application super easy and while the tubes hold whooping 15 ml of product they are small enough to fit in almost any pocket.

The very last item is Figs & Rouge Wild Cherry lip balm. I already used up one of them and I don't like them. They are natural and organic but nothing special in terms of moisture. The formula feels very thin and it disappears from the lips pretty fast, this one was clear so I used it on my cuticles as well. At first it feels very greasy but in terms of nourishing it felt flat. The scent was very fake. I actually can't think of one thing that I liked about it. Unfortunately I have one more to go through but I will leave it till next year, I feel like I need a break from this disappointing formula.

Empties

Hello,

it is pretty obvious that we are having a burning hot Summer. I have used up a lot of Sun lotions and I haven't had any burn on my body, jet. I still have plenty to go through (this year alone I purchased 6 bottles of Sun cream and I still have some left from last year).

First tube is Sun Dance cream with SPF 50. It is old and not completely used up but it is very greasy and it leaves obvious white cast so I'm tossing it, did I mentioned that it is old?

Next is Avon Sun+ lotion for kids with SPF 30. It is light blue which is great if you have some minor red spots because the cool color counteracts it but you are left with bluish hands afterwards. This one too is a little too old to be used in a safe matter so I'm discharging it.

Third one is my favorite, it is Hawaiian Tropic with SPF 50. I noticed that they changed the packaging and the highest protection that they are offering from this line is 30, I'm a little disappointed but probably I will still repurchased it next year (I just bought 6 full bottles and tubes from another brand so I think I'm good for a while). The cream itself is white and cream colored so it won't give you that white cast and the scent is phenomenal.

Fourth one and last for this month (yep, I am planning on using up some more next month) is another one from Sun Dance and it is not as old as the first one so I used it all up. It is for the face, neck and chest area with an SPF of 30. They claim to be mattifying fluid. I agree that it is quite liquid but not mattifying enough for me. I also didn't liked the white cast that was left after applying on top of the greasy feeling so I used it on my body and I was done with it faster. This one is not something I would repurchase.

Next we have Fruit of the Earth aloe body lotion. It was milky and I would never guessed that it has aloe in it because of the texture which is nothing like the aloe vera. It had a generic and barely there scent, it was not bad but I got spoiled by some amazing moisturizers so this felt a bit bland. It absorbed quickly but I didn't have a feeling that it would moisturize my skin well. I was glad when it was gone and I won't bother getting it again.

Avon Advance Technques heat protection spray was something I purchased ages ago. I rarely do any heat styling so this was completely unnecessary. I ended up using it on my hair when I went to the beach. I don't know if it works like that, if it protects my hair from the sun but I thought that it can't hurt, right? Otherwise it had that lovely scent that all Avon A.T. products have but my complaint would be that it made my hair sticky. They would get all tangled, in a way it is good because I was able to create some texture in my hair but on the windy day at the beach it just looked messy.

I bought not so long ago this Himalaya clarina anti acne clay mask and I used it very consistently. It is this typical clay mask that gets dry and manages to pull the gunk out of your pores. My skin felt better after one use (I mean in the morning after because whenever I remove clay masks my skin looks all red and irritated and this one wasn't an exception). The next day my skin looked better, pores looked clearer if not completely clear, acne were reduced or completely gone. I have to give two thumbs up for this one but there is one drawback and it occurs shortly after applying it. When it sits on my face it starts to burn around extra sensitive areas, in my case that it the nose. It felt cold and hot at the same time, very weird and unpleasant but after I got through this phase it worked and I might repurchase it in the near future (I bough another mask from the same brand which is also for oily skin types so I will see how that one will work).

Lastly I have another face mask and this on is from Lush and it is one of their fresh masks. I have Catastrophe Cosmetics and I already talked about it last week. It was great for my oily and acne prone skin. It helped reduce the big boys and clear out the smaller fellas. It didn't feel hot or cold on my skin and after I rinsed it off my skin didn't look red or angry but rather happy and moisturized. I already repurchased it along with another mask from the brand. I will report back as soon as I start using it.

Empties

Hello,

it is almost the end of the month and I'm back with my empties post. It will be divided in two parts, simply because I used too many things and this post will already be long.

First one standing is Mixa cleansing micellar water for sensitive and reactive skin & eyes. It was a clear and scentless watery liquid which I tried to use as a make-up remover and it didn't do to well, it only manged to push make-up around but it didn't remove much. They also have the regular one which I haven't tried yet but this one didn't give me much hope. I eventually used it up after make up wipes and face wash, just to make sure there is absolutely no make up left and also to slightly moisturize my face after extensive cleanse. It did calm down and moisturized my skin but not enough, so next time when I will shop for cleansing water I will skip this one.

Natura Siberica makes this tonic lotion which still leaves me a bit puzzling at how to use it properly. You see, the texture is creamy like cleansing milk but the instructions at the back tells you that you put it on a cotton pad and apply all over clean face. It is not meant to clean but to moisturize and I'm just not used to using such creamy products as moisturizing toners. The texture of the product don't match what it is supposed to do, at least not for me but after two or three weeks I got used to it until I figured it out that it was causing my skin to break out, heavily. I finished this product in the shower where I mixed it with my body wash. I definitely won't repurchase it again.

Next we have Avon Anew genics dark circle corrector eye cream. I feel like it wasn't so long time ago since I started using it. It had an interesting safety opening which is convenient for traveling but I still manged to squeeze some product into the cap. It had a little pigment pearls in it which camouflaged some under eye darkness, I'm pretty fair and the shade wasn't to dark. I appreciated the formula as it was moisturizing but at the same time it sink in really fast. I would repurchase it again but considering not so low price tag and how fast I used it up, I will try something else next time.

I finally finish this sun cream which is from Lavazon sonnen fluid SPF30. I talked about it in May and since I figured it out that it breaks me out I was using it on my hands whenever I went out. Someone might thought that I haven't used much protection since this bottle is small, 50 ml, but I was using some other creams in conjunction. It was alright for my body but definitely not okay for my face.

The last item is old Avon Super Shock lip gloss in the shade Melon Madness. These bottles are huge, they hold 12 ml of product and I manged to use maybe a quarter. The scent remind me of melon so first I thought there is connection with the name (I bought two other shades and they all smell the same) but it isn't. The scent is still nice though. The main issue is the color. Don't get me wrong, I like coral glosses and even the little golden shimmer doesn't bother me but this is so pigmented, basically the color you see on the photo is what you get on your lips and you can't sheer it out much. I figured that I haven't use it in over a year so I think I won't miss it. I like this line of glosses and if they would still be available I might pick some shades but only if they are light, sheer.

Stay tuned for second part of my empties.

sun protection

Hello,

a while ago I bought new sun cream for my face. I can never get it right. Usually they are always to greasy. They make my skin even oilier and they also make me break out. Finding the right protection can be a real hassle. I took this one because it was on the cheaper side and it says on the tube that it has fluid like consistency and matte finish, all that made me think that it will be less greasy.

Lavazon sonnen fluid mattierend SPF30

So, the brand is Lavazon and the products name is sonnen fluid mattierend SPF30. I really had high hopes for it. The scent is typical which I actually like. The texture is a bit more liquid so the name fluid has a point. When applying it to my face I didn't noticed that it would be too white, just a little like any other cream but nothing too much. At first it goes on matte but if you want to apply proper amount of cream it gets complicated. My skin somehow just couldn't absorb it and I started to glow right after applying it. The next time I tried with less and it worked better but after two-three hours my face looked like a light bulb. After using it for the whole week my skin broke out and four huge pimples appeared and I blame this sun cream for it.
Unfortunately this product doesn't work for my sensitive skin but thankfully I found the one from Holika Holika which thick all the boxes for me.

SPF 45

Hello,

warmer days are approaching. For me that always means that I get more concern about sun cream protection. I have a lot of different ones and so far non of them really worked the way I hopped it will.

Holika Holika Dazzling Sunshine Make up Sun Cream SPF 45

This is Holika Holika Dazzling Sunshine Make up Sun Cream SPF 45. I wondered for a while if I should order something so important as sun cream through e-bay, isn't it better to go to the local farmacy and get something from there? I did and nothing worked, so I turned to the Koreans. They are known to be very into skincare and particularly into sun protection (they prefer pale skintone and I assume they use a lot of sun care protection). Local brands have variety of products and it looks like they put a lot of thought into their products and I just assume that they actually work.

Holika Holika Dazzling Sunshine Make up Sun Cream SPF 45

This one has a nice SPF, I like everything that is above 30. The cream comes in a big 60 ml tube which is still convenient to travel around since it is more flat. The cream itself has a nice citrus-y scent which is not detectable once it is applied to the skin. It is cream colored but as you can see on the photo (I used the cream on the lover part of my hand) it still makes your skin lighter. This isn't a problem if you put make-up on top.
I find this cream to make my skin quite matte. I have to apply my regular moisturizer first otherwise my skin feels to dry and tight (I think this will be perfect for the summer when my skin get oilier). I like that since my skin gets oily on its own already. I have actually been skipping on my primer because this one works like a charm.
I was scared that it may break me out like majority of sun creams does but thankfully that hasn't happened.

I'm super surprised and excited about it. So far I love it but I have to see how it will get along with warmer weather and oilier skin that comes along but so far this is the best sun cream I have ever tried on my face. I think that says a lot.
