Empties

 Hello,

this is the second part of my empties for the month of May. This whole month went by so fast, it feels like I only blinked and it was gone.

I used up my first Maybelline Lifter gloss in Moon (I already have a backup). This slight pinky base with tons of shimmers is beautiful. It looks great on its own or layered. Scent is caramel like and very enjoyable. I am glad that I have a backup since I am not out of love with it.

Next is mini 2aN Glaze Bouncing Tint in the shade Peach Ade. Received it as a gift with purchase and I immediately fell in love with it. I love the glossy tin, even tint and the exact shade. I am thinking of getting the same one in full size again because it is that good.

Green bottle is Alexandre J. The Majestic Vetiver perfume. I have all six versions and after purchasing them I did not love them except for the red one and now every one that I touch I like. Most of them are very dry wood and then they added something special to the mix. This one is woody and there is vetiver not super fresh but also not completely dry, something in the middle and I really like it. On most days I layer it with something fruity or fresh.

Next is another mini, this one is Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh Rice +B5, SPF 50+ PA++++. That was a super long name :) I already have three SPF lotions for face that work for me and I just found another one. This one has a semi liquid formula and it absorbs quickly, I love that there is no greasy finish or white cast, i also haven't experience any breakouts so I think it is safe to say that this one just joined my beloved SPF creams. After I finish the one I am using at the moment I am getting big size of this one.

Second to last is Nude by Nature translucent loose finishing powder in the shade 01 Natural. At first I was using it as a fixing powder and it did not work, I got so greasy that it was not even funny. I just couldn't believe that it is fixing powder I flipped it and discovered that it is finishing powder... I was using it wrong for a few days :) Then when I discovered what it actually is I just did not see any point of using it. It made no difference so thankfully it is mini and it was quickly gone.

Lastly there is one of my old favorite fixing powders from Catrice. It is their all matt plus powder in Transparent. I am throwing it away because around two years ago I was using it to fix my make-up during my work, then I started using something better in the morning and I did not need to touch up so this one was just sitting there in the locker... now it is super old and I don't dare to use it, I imagine it is fully infested with all kinds of nasty. I am throwing it away but this one was a nice powder, it kept my oils at bay for hours, towards the end of my work day some came out to play but not much.

Moon and Toffee

 Hello,

I have some more shades of this already familiar lip gloss formula. This time around I picked neutrals.

They are Maybelline Lifter lip glosses in Moon and Toffee, latter is inspired by honey and there is some honey like scent mixed with caramel. While the original Moon only has caramel scent. I like both scent it is just that the honey line only has 5 shades available.

Top one is Moon, shimmery one with sheer base and bottom one is Toffee with no shimmer and warm nude base.

I love the shimmery Moon shade so much that this is actually already my second bottle, I like other shades as well but Moon is still my favorite.

First one gives almost pink feel with tiny shimmers which can sparkle like crazy and even when gloss fades shimmer remains.
Toffee is the lightest from the honey range if we don't take in account yellow shimmer one which I am not interested in.

I wish they would last a bit longer but that is also the only complaint that I have. I like the colors I picked, scent/taste, shine (even though it is not as long lasting as I would like it to be) and big applicator is easy to use.

Upstate and Blind Date

 Hello,

I was so excited to try this line that honestly I did not check much of other reviews, I wanted to see it for myself.

They are Maybelline Serum Satin lipsticks in Upstate and Blind Date. They have really nice packaging, mute beige with brand name wrapping all around them.

I am leaning towards nude and browns at the moment so this line came out right on time. I love the slight Vanilla/Cacao scent. It is soo nice.

Upstate is mid toned slightly warm toned nude but it looks pretty natural on me, I was scared that it will be too warm but my skin tone can handle it.
Blind Date is on the red side but muted and there is some brown in the mix to tone it down. It is still a bit bright, I hopped to be more muted.
Finish is slightly shiny but I like to pat them a bit to dampen the shade and that makes them less shiny, they are very comfortable to use.
Longevity is nice and Upstate leaves an even layer behind, probably the natural looking color is also at fault while Blind Date can be a bit uneven because it so much brighter and less natural looking.

I like the formula on these and I can see myself picking some more shades but Upstate here is my favorite and Blind Date will be worn much less just because after wearing it for a while it starts looking like an unblended liner. I just need to be wary when I drink and it is not that bad but still I will reach for Upstate more often.

My birthday shopping no.5

 Hello,

this is the last one from this series and it is also slightly different, this time around the brands aren't Asian but closer to home.

The two on the top are Catrice Filler Supreme lip glosses in The Sugarcoated Truth and Fairytale Filter (this one I wanted the most ever since I saw the promo photos because I am a sucker for soft pink lips).

Below is new Essence Soft Baked blush in the shade Think Pink (they used to have a lip gloss with that name and I loved it until they discontinued it so now I have bitter sweet memory of that name). I hope I picked the right shade because some are crazy sparkle, mine just looks glowy.

At the bottom there are two Makeup factory eyeshadow quads in Coffee Break and Rosy Powder. I already have one quad and the shades are very buttery, especially the glitter shades are something else.

Above are Essence lip oils in Cookie Sparkle and Sugar Sparkle, I can already tell that they smell delicious and they sparkle like crazy.

Then there is highly anticipated Catrice Diamond Treasures cream to powder eyeshadow duo in Fairy Dust. I know that there are three options available but before they had almost exact same color combos also in three variations. I believe that I have the 'old' one which are creamy, new ones are supposed to be powders, the one in rosy tones is named On The Go Rose and now I kind of want that one as well :)

Lovely cream packaging belongs to cute Maybelline lipsticks in Upstate and Blind Date, both in Sateen formulation.

There are two Essence Extreme shine glosses in Nude Sorbet and the other one makes my heart flutter because it is bright peach shade named Peach Please.

Single looking Catrice eyeshadow looks a bit sad, all alone :( I wanted to get Essence Mono eyeshadow glitter in Frosted shine but the remaining shade was shamelessly swatched even though there were designated testers underneath, this really makes me angry. At the end I picked Catrice single shadow in Frosted Dust. it is not similar but it is amore subtle sparkly option.

Lastly there is another Essence Glossy Glaze high shine lipstick, this time around in the Cloud Nude  shade. I already have the pink one and I like it so much that I decided to get another one :)

Pink Drip

 Hello,

It is Maybelline lifter glaze Pink Drip lip balm. I choose a safe shade since this looked very sheer and slightly pink, just what I like.

It has this slight minty scent but on the lips I can not detect it, it is also not tingly.

Shade is soft pink and I got a hunch that it will turn bright pink once on the lips.

It looks shiny but not super glossy and there is slight pink base to it. My freckle is still visible and that shows you just how sheer it is.

I love that they used their famous square packaging, but otherwise I this lip balm is pretty underwhelming for me.

Scent is not strong, the balm itself is on the hard side (maybe it needs warmer weather to soften) and it gives just a moderate shine. Shade is nice but I wish it would be a bit more visible but after wearing it for a while (half an hour or more my lips turn deeper, not really brighter just deeper). So I guess this has some ph activating properties where the longer you wear it the deeper it gets.

I wore it for half a day and my lips got so dry and chapped, this did nothing for them so I will use it only when I want some tint which lasts for quite a while and it is even. I will definitely keep a nourishing lip balm around to hydrate my lips while wearing this. I wish it would be shinier and more nourishing. I probably will not be getting more shades.

Three lifter glosses

 Hello,

a little while ago these lip glosses were all the rage. Everyone had and loved them. I waited a bit for the craze to settle and also for prices to drop before getting my first. I first picked Moon and the other two followed.

Here I have three Maybelline lifter glosses in Moon, Gummy Bear and Bubblegum. Packaging is pretty large but they carry 'only' 5,4 ml of product.

I like the larger doe foot applicator which allows me to coat my lips completely with just one go. Moon was my first and it is the only one with shimmer out of the three. Scent is sweet caramel and there is slight taste which lasts only a few minutes.

Here are swatches in the same order. Moon has base color but on me it looks pretty natural. Shimmer is intense, not gritty but it reflects the light like crazy. It looks somewhat frosty and the end result is very nice. I didn't think that I will like it so much like I do.

Next is Gummy Bear which looks lovely pink in the tube but it is sheer, almost too sheer for my liking and I prefer glosses on the sheer side.

Bubblegum is brighter pink and the tone is lovely but it is almost too pigmented. If it would be up to me I would made Gummy Bear slightly more pigmented and Bubblegum slightly less but I would leave tones as they are since they are perfect for me.

I really like them but at the same time I don't think they are that special. The biggest minus is the poor longevity. I get around 45 min of wear time. Shimmer in Moon stays for a bit longer but the shine is gone. If I find them on sale I would maybe get more shades but for the full price I will not be getting them. There are just soo many glosses that I want to try out and possibility of them having longer staying power is tempting.

I am shining

 Hello,

I felt a bit stuck with my eye shadows and I was looking at buying something new. To spice up the everyday routine.

I decided to try out the Maybelline color tattoo 24h in the shade I am shining. I remember their tattoo pots and the popular bronze shade didn't work for me since it would crease but matte versions (I had two) were amazing and I would get them again if they would still be available.

I wanted to see how they last since the tattoo name and maybe to see if they are more practical since they come in pen format. I purchased it online so I wasn't completely sure about the shade but I ended really liking the color. I am no longer a big fan of gold shadows but this one strikes different.

It is shimmery but somehow cool toned gold. It has a slight yellow to it but also white so it comes off as pale and cool. If I choose to wear gold this is the one.
I tried it on my bare lids and it would crease within the first hour (just like the bronze shade in the pot version), next I tried it with eye shadow primer and that worked much better. I would get around 8h of wear, before creasing.
I don't like to apply it straight from the pen since it drags my lid. I like to put it on the back of my hand, warm it up and apply it with my fingertips but then it doesn't show as intensely as on the swatch.
My favorite way to wear it is in my inner corners. Here I can apply it straight from the pen and it also doesn't smudge or move.
I like it for highlighting my corners and I feel like other shades won't work, maybe white one would or maybe that would be too stark. I am glad that I picked up this particular shade but I am not too impresed to buy more.

31 October 2024

 Hello,

my vacation came and went. It happened so fast and I am still recovering from it :) even though it ended in September, the memories are still alive.

I used two Avon care glycerine hand and nail creams, Jasmine with vitamin E and glycerine. I had one at home and one at work. These are some of my favorites. Lightweight but with real results. I probably already have some backups :)

Next is my purse hand cream from Frudia and this time I went through the Cherry hand cream version. Lovely scent and the lightweight texture (white cap has light weight cream and dark brown lid usually contains heavier cream inside). This one was one of my favorites and I would get it again, the formula is absolutely lovely, the price is low and the packaging is small enough to fit into my purse.

Next in line is Garnier ambre solare sensitive expert SPF 50+ face cream. I tried it on my face but it was too heavy for me, too greasy and I had a light white cast so that is a point down for me. I recently tried two different asian face creams with high SPF and I prefer those two over this Garnier one. I used it on my body until I completely empty this tube.

The Body Shop Refresing Passionfruit joghurt for normal to dry skin with cooling effect was amazing scent wise. So juicy and fruity :) the texture was very light, almost gel like but moisturising properties were very low. That is my only complaint, body moisturiser wasn't moisturising enough but the scent was phenomenal.

Next to it is Shiseido x Roxy after sun intensive recovery emulsion. I also have a full size but for this years vacation I decided to go with the mini. It is very liquid and slightly too sharp in scent. I haven't had any burns (thank god) but light texture didn't feel anything special. Next year I will use up the big size but honestly I don't think this item is anything special for me.

Last item in line is very similar to the previous. It is Biotherm anti - drying body milk with citrus essences. Slightly less watery but with a more pronounced citrus scent. This one also wasn't my favorite and thankfully I don't have any backups. I received it as a free gift while buying products from the brand and there are some nice face creams (I have a stash) but this one just didn't wow me.

Super old Essence plumping nudes in the shade XXL charm. With this one I had a love and hate relationship. Some months I loved the frosty finish and slightly lighter shade on my lips and afterwards came times I really disliked it. All in all I am in love faze and I would get it again if it would be available, now I am on a hunt for something similar.

I have these old lipsticks from Avon limited edition in Sumptuous Nectar and Rose Enchantment. Bright coral was my favorite and I will miss it while the pink one wasn't that special in terms of shade. They were light but buildable and shiny - exactly how I like my lipsticks. The Nectar one will be missed.

Next in line is Maybelline Desert Bloom lipstick. It is also super old and I don't know if they stil sell them... I liked the neutral shade and the sheen but for my taste it could be a little less pigmented. I doubt I will get it again but only because I prefer light pigmentation on my lips.

Under hot pink lid is Make up Revolution London Juicy Pout lip gloss with Cherry, Raspberry and Jojoba oil in the Watermelon option. It was clear with tiny sparkles. I am not a big fan of glittery lips but this was so little, just enough to add some shine and I ended up loving it. It lasted decent amount of time (it could be better) but since I don't have big success with products from this brand I have to say this gloss was probably my favorite item from them that I have tried.

The very last item is Clarins lip perfector in the 01 shade. It is lovely light pink, almost clear. It has a sweet caramel like scent but unfurtunately it doesn't last long on my lips. It is very popular but to me is mere average.  Probably I won't be buying it again unless I will find it super cheap. Then I might reconsider it.

Desert Bloom or Pink For Me

 Hello,

today I have a 'battle' of two Maybelline lipsticks. I bought both on the same day and at first the colors look super similar but formulas are different so they also act different on the lips.

First red tube is Maybelline Hydra Extreme Desert Bloom and second in a more recognizable tube is Color Sensational Pink For Me.

The shades looks very similar but as I mentioned they look and behave different while worn.

First swatch is Desert Bloom and appears more peachy nude while Pink For Me is a deeper rose with almost a brown undertone.

Here you can almost see the the difference in the texture, Desert Bloom is much creamier almost glossy looking while Pink For Me is more pigmented and the pigments slowly eat all of the shine so after a while it looks semi matte on my lips.

I tried to wear both lipsticks at once to really see the differences but I messed up and swapped them so on the first part of my lips there is deeper Pink For Me and lighter Dessert Bloom follows.

If I leave the shades behind and just focus on the texture Color Sensational Pink For Me lipstick is more pigmented and with two layers I reach maximum opacity. It doesn't completely settles so when I drink it leaves a distinct mark but the pigment is still in full swing on my lips. It doesn't survive eating but drinking with this baby on is effortless (the glass has marks but my lips don't have any gaps or weak pigmentation). It lasts for hours and only after eating I retouch it. My lips also didn't complain too much, after a long day they did felt a bit dry but nothing too noticeable.

The second part of my lips is covered with Maybelline Hydra Extreme Desert Bloom lipstick which is weaker in pigmentation. I rubbed it a couple of times over my lips to get decent pigmentation on but it is also a lighter color and closer to my natural lip shade so it is obvious that it doesn't show up super bold. It is much more shiny looking and after drinking there is not much pigment on the glass or the lips. I'm a bit bothered that my lips felt very dry and looked chapped after two/three hours of wearing it on its own.

I prefer the packaging of the Color Sensational lipstick but when it comes to the shade and finish I love the Hydra Extreme lipstick. I live for these type of almost glossy/tinted lip balm lipsticks (reviews of some tinted lip balms are coming), reapplying doesn't bother me that much and so I much prefer the Hydra Extreme lipstick but I have to keep a lip balm with me and apply it under otherwise my lips look very angry.

Empties

Hello,

I have a new empties post. I am preparing for a new year and I would like to use up as many products as possible so next year I will start fresh, do any of you have the same felling? When you just want to get out of the way as many products before the change of year?

First is Le Petit Marseiliais body lotion with cotton and almond note in this beautiful bright red bottle. It reminds me of Poppies and my mom|s old favorite fragrance Kenzo Flower (anyone else?). It was really nice but I prefer the one in the pink/lavender bottle that I have finished earlier this year.

Next is a *miracle* product from REN and it is their flash rinse 1 minute facial. Basically it is a scrub that you apply on a clean and dry face (it has to be dry), it has little scrubby parts that do not feel too much and when it starts balling up I rinse my fingers with lukewarm water and go over my face again. Water turns it into an almost oily product and the scrubby particles dissolves. If my skin is sensitive (acne) it will burn a little (it claims to have water activated vitamin C in it, that is why it is so important that in the first step there is no water involved). My skin will not turn red, even when it feels extra sensitive and the next day my acne are reduced or smaller ones are gone, the texture is improved and the skin after using it a couple of times looks more even. This is gorgeous so I did not hesitate and purchased another tube even though it is expensive.

Next is my beloved Avon advance technique silky hair serum. This is my second used up bottle and third one is already in rotation. I love this oil in my hair not only because it smells nice but also because it makes them look less dry, basically silkier (as the name suggests). My preferred method is to use it on damp hair and in the morning when I wake up they are exceptionally smoother and silkier.

Caudalie vinosource overnight recovery oil was my last years black Friday deal. I also got the one in the green bottle and honestly I did not saw much improvement in my skin but this one in the red bottle (also cheaper) suited me better. It contains Grape seed, Jojoba, Sesame, pure Rose, Sunflower and Palmarose oils mixed together. Using it on a regular base I noticed that my skin looked more even (less red which I can thank Rose oil). I was using it with different serums and my skin improved a lot since last year but I think it was a combination of products. This one was nicer than the one in the green bottle but still it is a bit pricey for what it is. I already bought Jojoba (nourishing) and Rose (redness reducing) oils and just mix them myself since I notice the biggest difference while using these two oils.

These two are the last heroes from this amazing Essence line called prettifying lip oils first one is red SOS, my heart and the other one is actually pink named First, help Pinky (they were hard to tell apart even when they were full). I think I talked and raved about them quite a lot so I will try to be quick. They smell and taste lovely, a bit fruity, they are super glossy and nourishing. When my lips were cracked I applied this miracle oil a couple of times and it healed them within one hour. I think this is pretty good because I have plenty of lip balms and hardly any get that close at fixing my chapped skin. The only downfall with these is that they are pretty thin and disappear too fast. If Essence will ever bring them back I am buying more of them.

Next is also my very last of the Avon SuperShock gel eye pencil in Golden Fawn (both me and my sister owned three of each). This was a limited edition shade and what a pity. The gel in the name suggest that is very creamy and it is but it also dries and does not move around (amazing formula, they still have them but in more modest shades). This one was more of a taupe than gold and had that multi dimensional feel where it looked like you used more than one shade because it looked more complicated and the shimmer made it look sparkly and glowy. Such a good shade that could transform and elevate any look. I would get it again in a heart beat if I could.

Next is another discontinued item and even though  love it I will not be crying my eyes out because I have similar shades already in my collection. It is Catrice Ooops, nude did it again eye shadow, It is a bit hard to spot because it is so close to my skin tone but what is fantastic about it is the sateen finish and I mostly used it as a highlighter on my cheeks. It looked soooo good but I have another shade from Essence that is almost the same and plenty of highlighters to go through, sooo... I am glad that I was able to use up another item and I can not wait to start seeing dips in some of my other shadows.

The very last swatch belongs to Maybelline 24h color tattoo from creamy mattes in the shade Creamy Beige. I absolutely love it. I usually use much less and blend it out so I only get a light shadow on the eye plus this one does not budge. It has some build in primer that even my greasy lids could not get through. I would repurchase it again but I have another brown cream shadow that needs to be used (I was neglecting it because I was focusing so much on this Creamy Beige shade).

I did a little damage on the biggest, blackest Friday. I bought backups of REN mask seen above, backups of my favorite face powder and concealer, daily face moisturizer, new blush and I have also ordered two new fragrances and I can not wait for them to arrive. Nothing too crazy like I did last year.

Shopping

Hello,

I feel like I haven't done a 'big' shopping spree in a long time and I sort of missed that. I really didn't need anything but I just wanted to splurge a bit. None of the items are expensive but buying too many unnecessary items at once is a splurge, at least for me.

First I grabbed this set (I'm pretty sure it was left from the Winter season) of Neutrogena concentrated hand cream and their lip balm (I borrowed this hand cream once from coworker and I like it a lot and lip balm is just an added bonus ;).
I haven't heard about this Malibu brand before but they have a lot of SPF lotions (maybe next Summer). To try something out I decided to get the lip balm trio. I'm excited for high SPF and different scents. One is Watermelon, the other is Vanilla and I think my favorite will be the Mint one.

And for the last I saved the makeup bits. First has to be the Maybelline color sensational Pink for me lipstick and hydra extreme lipstick in Desert Bloom. I didn't really need any more lipsticks (my collection is pretty large and I'm trying to downsize it...) good luck with that, right?
Next is Rimmel stay matte face powder in Transparent shade. I heard so much good stuff about it that I just had to try it out and see why everyone loves it.
The very last item is gorgeous Essence melted chrome eye shadow (I already have the silver one and I love it) in Zinc about you. In one of the stores I have already saw big mark downs on some of the items and these chrome shadows were among them. I quickly grabbed the most beautiful shade and run with it. I tried to check online but can't find the full list of products from Essence that will leave us. Did you find it? Let me know because I'm curious to see what else will be leaving us.

Lipstick declutter

Hello,

I am in a serious declutter mode and that goes for all material aspects of my life. I'm constantly giving away bronzers, blushes, highlighters, eye shadows... never in bulk but just one or two every week or so but this time I attacked my lipstick 'collection' and I was surprised at how many of them ether went bad or I just don't like the color or formula on me, so I decided to pile them up and have one bigger declutter on my blog.

Yep, that is ten full sized lipsticks that I'm parting from.

Essence Longlasting Wear Berries!, Maybelline Color Sensational faint for Fuchsia, Rimmel Moisture renew Sheer & Shine Glow-rious Pink, Essence Sheer & Shine Candy Love, Avon Mark Rose Kisses, Avon Indulgence Tawny Rose, Avon Ultra Color Latte, Avon Ultra Color Tempered, Avon Ultra Color Rich Country Rose, Essence Next Stop: Summer Wish I was a Mermaid lipsticks.

Essence Longlasting Wear Berries! was a lipstick that I wanted to buy ever since they came out and everyone was praising them. The formula is really amazing but unfortunately I picked this darker, bolder shade that I maybe wore three times. Thankfully I picked up another more wearable shade before they discontinued them.

Maybelline Color Sensational Faint for Fuchsia was an impulse purchase. I think I got it at the 30% off sale and there weren't that many shades to choose. Again I really like the longlasting formula but a bright cool toned pink just isn't something I would wear often. I think I will check their stand in the future to find something more natural looking because I think that the formula is really nice.

Rimmel Moisture renew Sheer & Shine Glow-rious Pink was a lipstick I bought last year in November but I only recently tried it. I liked the sheer & shine claim and I picked a soft neutral pink but the first time I put it on my lips something was off. A minute after application I got a bitter taste in my mouth that came from that lipstick. I don't know if that is something 'normal' or it went bad but ether way I'm tossing it after wearing it a minute and a half, such a waste of my money.

Essence Sheer & Shine Candy Love has a similar line name as the Rimmel one and on the swatch it does look super glossy. This one was one of my top favorites so I'm extra angry at myself for not being able to just use it up before it went bad (gunky texture made it unusable). I have loved everything about it, I even got my mom hooked on but the 'new' Color up! Shine On! line is very similar in texture but I don't think they have a similar shade available (I hope they will come up with something similar in January, fingers crossed  ;).

Avon Mark Rose Kisses is something I purchased immediately after they released this line and after the first application I knew that this is not something for me. It is very pigmented and creamy which is a good thing but I just personally don't like super pigmented lipsticks and on top of that I even don't like the shade that much. Whenever I put it on I just couldn't prepare myself to leave the doors wearing it so I think it is time to part with it.

Avon Indulgence Tawny Rose is a line of skinny tall bullets. I had two other bright pinks but I got rid of them already because I wasn't wearing them. This one on the other hand is one of my favorites. On me it looks more pink than nude and the formula is very nourishing. I don't think they are still available but if I could find it I would get it again.

Avon Ultra Color Latte is an oldie but a godie. For a long time this was my favorite nude and I actually wore it quite a lot but for the past two years I really can't remember when was the last time I used it. Now I prefer to wear more light pink shades and this one got overlooked. It is really old so it must to go but if I will feel the need to wear a nude I will get it again.

Avon Ultra Color Tempered is another one from the same collection but this particular shade was a limited edition. I did wore it a bit but then I left it in the dark and never picked it up. It has the same amazing texture (buildable coverage, creamines, slight sheen and lovely lasting power) but the shade seems a bit too light, too pastel for me so I will get rid of it.

Avon Ultra Color Rich Country Rose is another one with the same texture except mine is an older packaging. This shade is still available and it still looks the same. It is an amazing bright red with unique silver sheen. My favorite but I wear it so rarely and this packaging is a constant reminder that it is way too old.

Essence Next Stop: Summer Wish I was a Mermaid lipstick is a color changing lipstick. In the bullet it looks green but on the lips it is just clear and then it slowly starts to get a bit of a peach hue. Very very faint but I used it mostly as a lip balm bu the last time I saw how weird the color looks like. On the bottom is almost white and then it starts to get gradient and the top is dark green. I know that it was even when it was new and approximately a month ago it still was. I'm scared that it might went bad so for the sake of my health I'm tossing it away.

Here they are all swatched and since there are mostly pink tones I can see a nice variety in shades and tones, at least I don't have gazillion lipsticks all in one shade  ;)

Wear Berries! is the darkest and the most dramatic. I think that it looks nice on me but if I'm not in the right mindset with enough confidence then it is pointless to wear such an attraction pulling shade.

Faint for Fuchsia is the boldest and coolest of the bunch. I usually just dab it on to get more of a stain and not so much color but still I didn't wear it that whole much.

Rimmel's Glow-rious Pink was the biggest disappointment because I only put it on once and I loved the shade and sheen, it felt moisturizing but then it started to get bitter so I wiped it off and now it is going into the trash bin.

Next is Candy Love which is lighter but just as creamy. I love it and when they were discontinuing it I wanted to grab as many back up as possible, at the end I only got one and I gave it to my mom who used it all up.

Rose Kisses is deeper rose borderline rusty red and I' m just not into shades like that. The pigmented formula is also something I'm not too comfortable with so I was never really interested in picking more shades.

Tawny Rose is such a lovely neutral pinky-nude shade with amazing moisturizing formula. It is such a shame that I can't find it anymore because I would get it in a heartbeat and this time I would finish it.

Latte is more brown toned nude which can look very striking or monochromatic. Like, I mentioned this was my favorite nude which says a lot because I normally don't go for nude and now I only have one more nude which is way more sheer and I use it instead of a lip balm.

Tempered looks so alive and pretty here. I kind of want to take it out and use it but I know that this particular lighter shade clashes with my natural lip shade and it just doesn't look the best on me. I think that my sister who is paler and has less pigmented lips could rock it.

I could not get a nice shot of Country Rose. The silver sheen just doesn't photograph well. There isn't any shimmer or glitters but that special shine that when you apply it all over the lips it looks like you have done much more (lined, and used at least two different shades with some gloss in the center of the lips, if this would be brown it would remind me of the 90's lip, maybe the new Luminous Velvet lipsticks will be similar ). I wish they would make more shades with this kind of finish because it is spectacular.

Color changing Wish I was a Mermaid lipstick is the very last one and I waited approximately 5 minutes for the color to form but it is still too faint to really see it. On the swatch it just looks glossy and that is mostly how it looked on my lips.

They will all be trashed since their old age and now I'm looking forward to rediscover the rest of my lipsticks and I will try to finish as many as possible next year to really get down my number.

Empties

Hello,

another month has come to an end I feel like the Winter is just around the corner and the New Year with its resolutions and failed attempts to reach my goals...  It's all about spinning and catching the snake by its tail. Do you feel the same? Like the time fly by and you are not in control?
Well these products did come to its finishing line and with some we had a good run..

Avon Care glycerine and, nail & cuticle cream is my favorite hand cream and a long time ago I stopped counting through how many tubes I went through. It absorbs quickly and moisturizes my hands on a long run. This version is just the regular (unscented, usually the Spring ones are scented) in their standard packaging but I just ordered a new Winter themed packaging with the Coconut scent which is amazing.

Next is another hand cream, this one is from Essence and it is their Tropical hand mousse, It smells like fresh melons and it is fun to use because of its texture. I have to be careful and use a little bit otherwise it can get very greasy very quickly.

Avon Clearskin white clay cleanser, scrub & mask is 3 in 1 product but I think that claim is a bit of a stretch. Yes, it has some particles in there but they are not strong enough to do decent job so I only used it as a face wash or sometimes I applied thin layer all over my face. In about five minutes time it did its magic. It feels cooling so I wanted to use it as fast as possible because in the cold weather I don't like to use freezing face masks but it did work. It managed to clean my pores and refresh my face. My skin did approved so maybe next year I will repurchase it.

Bio Oil is very popular and well know brand of oil and I was very tempted to try it out. When I was looking for it the store had a special discount but only if you bought two bottles, if you know me then you know I purchase a pair without trying it first. The first thing is the gorgeous scent, I could lather my entire body with it and sleep like a baby. It is comforting, the texture is oily even though I have read that is light and absorbs fast. On my face it was moisturizing but nothing too revolutionary. I will use up the other bottle but I'm not so sure I would repurchase it again. Maybe now when I'm not using it I will see if my skin will get worst but I somehow doubt it.

The very last item on the photo is old Trend it up volumizing hair powder. This berry scent is intoxicating and they should make more products with it. When I picked this one up I really though that this is a dry shampoo in a can but it is not. It does nothing for greasy hair instead it makes them extra sticky. So very sticky that it hurts. I'm used to shampoo my hair twice and if I did it in a hurry with this icky powder on the next day my hair would still be sticky. It is so hard to wash away and so not worth it for me that I rarely use it and now I just decided to toss it. Volumizing powders just aren't for me.

This time around I went through The Body Shop body butter, and it is Cocoa butter. I seriously thought that I will use more of their stuff since there is a shop near my workplace. I went in a couple of times and bough a lot of their butters, lotions and other miscellaneous stuff but apparently I'm saving them for some sort of special occasions... I really enjoyed this one, it is a bit thicker but I don't mind some extra massage and the scent was amazing. Definitely my cup of tea.

Holika Holika Clearing BB cream with the SPF of 30. I used to really like this one, it was a but dark bit mixing lighter one in made it perfect. It has quite a nice coverage and I used to wear it everyday until I found L'oreal foundation which completely replaced BB creams in my routine. I still used this one on my days off and on my neck to help everything blend together. I don't think it is still available and even if it would be I am past BB creams and now I'm just trying to use all of them up.

Maybeline 24hr Color Tatoo in the shade Creme de Rose was an impulse purchase. I already had the super famous On and On Bronze which was very bold against my pale complexion and I didn't like how it looked but it also creased within thirty or forty minutes even with a primer underneath. People were raving about the formula but for me it just wasn't working but when I got my hands on some coupons I bought two more. Creme de Rose was one of them and I'm very happy that I did buy it. This baby last on my lids all day even without a primer. The shade looks a bit mauve toned in the pot but when I blend it out it sort of melt with my skin tone. It covers the veins and makes my lids all nice and even, often I used it alone because I liked the 'bare' look. I tried to find it in the store but the biggest drugstore doesn't even carry them so I was scared that they might stop selling them but I found them in some other more obscure stores but this shade was ether sold out or already swatched so at the moment I don't have it. I think I will buy it again but in the mean time I will focus a bit more on the brown Creamy Beige which I bought at the same time.

Next is a little Avon sample in the shade Amethyst Sunset. It is so old that I don't even remember the name of the line it belonged but it was the sparkling one. If you look close you can see multicolored shimmer in there but it is very small and it didn't bother me that much, the glitter didn't travel all around my lips. On the photo it looks a bit too brown, in real life it was more mauve-purple and since the formula was glossy and shiny I could do a very light and sheer coat. It just slightly deepen my lips and add some much needed shine. I really liked it and if it would be available I would buy myself a full size immediately.

The very last item is this super old Essence 50's Girls Reloaded LE I'm a Marine Girl eye pencil (it was released seven years ago, I checked). It got a bit dry and since I have some other blue pencils which aren't as old I decided to part with it. Using something so old around my eyes really isn't something to be considered safe. I hold on for so long because of the beautiful shade. It looks dark but when the light hits it you can see the royal blue reflection.

Time for Creamy Beige

Hello,

if you read my previous post about new Maybelline color tattoo pot then you would know how much I love it. I have been using it non stop but I did put it down to test the other more brown shade.

Maybelline color tattoo Creamy Beige

This one is called Creamy Beige and if it looks a bit weird on the photo it is because I had to do a little magic with the Photoshop. You see, I usually check products before I buy them to make sure no one has been opening them and sticking their filthy fingers in them but on this one I didn't check and I got the filthy one. Oh my, the stores have samples use them and not the actual product meant for sale. I can't stress enough how rude it is to open products and test them out. I once witnessed a girl applying lip gloss on her mouth and then put it back like nothing happened, I guess she didn't liked the color (me saying it in full sarcasm tone).

I will try to keep my rant down so I will tell you that I whipped it off and toss quite a lot of product but what else can I do?
After that I started using it and I can't believe I'm saying that but I actually like this shade even more than Creme de Rose.

Here on the first swatch you can see how it looks when smudged and that is also how I wear it and second is not smudged and more intense to show the color. It is warm chocolate shade which brings out my blue eyes. Sometimes I wear it on its own or I put very light layer of neutral shade on top which doesn't really alter the shade but ads a sateen finish which is my favorite plus a layer of mascara and my eye look is done. It is so simple but it looks like I did so much more, well at least I think so ;)

Creme de Rose

Hello,

I caved in and recently bought more Maybelline color tattoos even though I already own one and I'm not to pleased with it (I know I'm the only one). I'm normally not up for matte finish but the shades that I took were exactly what I was looking for so I decided to put them to a test.

Maybelline color tattoos Creme de Rose

First I tried Creme de Rose which looks at least in the pan very light beige and somewhat close to my skin color. The consistency is very creamy and smooth. It does not apply patchy but I have to blend fast because it dries fast.

So this is how it looks on the back of my hand, it is slightly darker and muted, kind of greyish rose toned nude. It covers all of my little veins and uniforms the color on my lid. I love using it on its own and I only add thick liner and lots of mascara so it kind of looks like pin up make-up, at least on the eye.
Not only the color but also the formula convinced me that this  is a great little pot. My original On and On Bronze shade creases within the first hour without any primer (aren't these supposed to last 24h no matter what?) but this one Creme de Rose stays put for 5-6 hours without any base, if I top it with a light eye shadow it prolongs the wear for a couple of hours but with a base layered first it does not move at all.
So far I am delighted about this color and formula and I only hope that the other pot I bought will perform the same.
