Good as New

 Hello,

I new nail polish that I have been wearing for the past few weeks. I am definitely in my sheer era and this one seemed like a mix between base coat and light coverage nail varnish.

Here I have Essie nail perfector in Good as New. I was attracted to the soft pink hue even though I knew it is supposed to dry out matte.

This is three coats on my nails and I can still see my nail line through which I don't mind. Color is a mix between peach and pink, it is a bit warmer than what I anticipated.
Finish is matte and it is interesting with this color. It almost looks like no nail polish and my fingers are just long.
At the end I can say that I like this nail polish. I wish this color would be a bit more cool but this combo sort of masks my nails and I think it looks nice. Finish is also a bit odd but it works. I wear it for a few days on its own and then add clear top coat to refresh it.
Longevity is also very nice, this lasted whole week on my nails.

I can see myself repurchasing this one again, if they will ever come out with a cooler version I will be the first to jump and get it.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Empties

Hello,

this round I have very little products at the finished line. I think that is simply because now I'm left with newer products which are still quite full and therefore harder to use up. I'm trying really hard to use up what I already have and purchase less so every used up product is a little victory on its own.
On the photo below I have some really lovely and some really awesome products.

Avon Today body souffle didn't have any special formula as the 'souffle' implies. Regular milkier lotion but I purchase it because of its scent. I was eyeing this perfume for a long time and I thought that purchasing lotion will make me decide if I really like the scent (I do like it a lot so I already own a perfume as well ;) To me it smells creamy, warm, flowery and a bit honey like. I loved coating myself with this scent and probably I will repurchase it soon.

Alkmene tea tree face wash is nothing new in my bathroom. I like its tea tree properties since I think it keeps my skin acne free. I use two pumps of product mix it with a bit of water and clean my face with it. It is great at removing my make up but it doesn't completely strip my skin. Plus it is on cheaper side  ;) Double win.

Batiste makes some of my favorite dry shampoos. This time around I used sweet & delicious Sweetie dry shampoo. As the name implies it does smell sweet and candy like but I didn't mind it, actually I wore it also as a perfume. Whenever I used it I skipped on my actual perfume because of its heavy fragrance, I honestly didn't need anything else. My favorite is still the Peony scent but this one comes close, I think there are some other versions that I would like to try next (anything but the Voluminous or Tropical ones since those two scents didn't suit me at all)

Second to last is this old bottle of Essence studio nails pro white glow base coat. It was slightly pink toned to help cover the yellow stained nails. The effect was so minimal that I don't think it was even worth it plus I never wear only clear nail polish so why I purchased it is still beyond me and this was actually the second bottle of it. In the future I think I will avoid tinted nail varnishes which promise covering the stained look simply because I don't need it.

The very last item is my beloved Catrice all matte plus shine control powder in Transparent shade. This is my third? one I think. It is very nice. It doesn't keep me matte for hours but what sets it apart is the fact that when I use it in the middle of the day (powdering my already oily face) it doesn't look all cakey or weird but it looks refreshed and matte, almost as if I redid my make-up. That is why I like it and the fact that it comes cheap helps a lot because I go through it quite fast, especially now in the hot Summer. I keep one more at work and then I'm out. I will try to use what I already have (Rimmel super famous powder and Maybelline fit me are already waiting to be used and I can't wait to see how they compare) and if they won't work I'm buying the Catrice one soon.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Empties

Hello,

my life has caught up with me and I haven't find any time to blog. I hope that now things will slow down and I will get back to reviewing and posting since I still enjoy it a lot.
This time my empties pile is a bit smaller but it feels so good to throw empty packaging away  ;)

First is one of my favorite shampoos ever. It is Avon naturals vitamin complex shampoo and conditioner with basil and lotus flower. It had lovely scent but also the formula made my hair clean, soft and silky. Something that it is hard to find, there are clarifying shampoos and then there are moisturizing ones but rarely you can find these qualities together. I  think this was my third and also the last bottle of it since Avon don't sell it anymore.

Another bottle of lotion is out the door and this time it is The Body Shop's Frosted Plum from 2017 holiday collection. I liked the cozy and warm scent but when I was rubbing it onto my skin it started to smell just slightly plastic-y. Not so much that it would bother me but enough to notice it. I'm glad that I didn't pick any backups of this scent. This past year though I got another LE scent and I can't wait to start using it.

Skin 79 Hot Pink BB cream is one of my favorite BB creams ever. This brand Skin 79 make amazing ones and for me this one and the V.I.P. Gold are the best. My tube was quite old so I used it on my neck but I have backup which will get in use in the Summer time especially on the vacation.

REN is an expensive brand which products promise miracles. I had high expectations for this product but it did disappoint me. The texture is somewhat thick but it absorb fast (I would apply more than necessary because it absorbed so fast and it left my skin feel almost dry) the next morning my skin didn't look amazing as the name suggest: wake wonderful night time facial but it was dry and dull. Something in this formula just didn't work for me. I didn't want to just toss it so I top it off with some oil and that is how I managed to use up the entire tube. Needless to say that I won't repurchase it again ;)

The very last item is only half used up and it is Avon nail experts nail illuminator nail base. It looks slightly blue toned but on the nails it is clear. While it does make my nails appear whiter I just don't wear clear polish on its own so it is pointless. I wore it as a base coat for my colorful polishes but that didn't work ether. The next day or within the same one if I washed my hand a lot the polish would peel of. That is great if you wear some glitters and want it gone the next day but otherwise it is pointless so I would rather use base coats that keep my polish on for longer.

Empties

Hello,

happy new year. I hope you survived your holidays well and are ready for new adventures.
I have decided to shop less this year and rather use my extensive stash of products but Essence is teasing me with all the products that they will discontinue soon (everything will retire, every single product!!!! I can't believe because I thought that I have found my holy grail concealer and powder but soon they will be gone). I will try to pull myself back and not buy every single product but in the mean time I'm using what I have which is evident on the two photos below.

First is Avon ultra shiny tubes in Dreamy Peach. I love the formula on these but this quite glittery orange shade didn't rock my boat. Now they have them in slightly different packaging but they still feel the same. I did use mine a bit but like I said the color didn't suit me so eventually it went bad and I'm tossing it in the bin but I'm thinking of getting some other shade.

Then there are the two EOS sphere balms in Vanilla Bean and Pumpkin Spice. The scents were okay but the formula was really not for me. They are very hard and even when I rubbed like twenty times it felt like nothing on the lips. I prefer a bit softer balms that melts into my lips and nourish them. These two failed and while there is still plenty of product left in both, I'm getting rid of them.

Biobaza makes this Bee balm with some SPF and I thought that it will be great for the beach time. I was wrong. This balm is much softer and when I took it with me on Summer vacation it already started to melt so taking it with me to the beach was a no no. At the end I did used it up but next time I will look for some other balm to take it with me to the beach.

Essence used to make these Sheer & Shine lipsticks which were absolutely amazing (now they have Color up! Shine on! line which is very similar). My red shade is named I feel pretty and it really is pretty. I used almost entire tube of it but at the end it started to taste a bit weird so I'm throwing it away because I don't want to risk any infections.

The very last item is Avon ridge filling base coat. It was a bit thicker but otherwise a pretty regular, standard base coat. I like it but I have a couple of other bottles left and I have to use them up before buying something new (I'm on a low buy so I have to keep telling that to myself so I don't forget  ;).

I have bought this set from Aldo Vandini two years ago and I'm super glad that I finally used it up. The pink tube is body wash and white is body lotion. They are both Magnolia scented and it is the scent that remind me of my childhood and I love it a lot. The body wash was nothing special but the lotion was top notch. The scent on my skin developed and after using it a couple of days in a row my sheets and pj started to smell like it and I dare to say that it even helped me fall asleep faster. I would repurchase the lotion in a heartbeat but since I have plenty of tubes and bottles already it will have to wait. The body wash like I said nice but I prefer to buy cheaper washes and rather splurge on lotions.

Liquid Silver

Hello,

my nails needed some life and instead of bright colors I decided to get something mirror like and wow, the effect is better than what I expected.

Catrice kindly gifted me with these new nail polishes. First is Lux Chrome in Liquid Silver (so far it is the only color available) and the Lux Chrome 2 in 1 base & top coat.

I used one coat of the 2 in 1 as a base, it dries super fast so almost immediately I applied the Liquid Silver on top. It is quite liquid but very opaque. I did two coats to get that even and smooth layer and after it dries the surface reflect image, almost like a mirror.
I tried the ridge filling base coat the next time (yes, I loved it so much that after I removed it after five days I repainted them with the same color but I used different base coat to see it my nails would get smoother and so the surface would look even more polished but the silver varnish didn't wan't to stick to it so using the 2 in 1 base & top coat is a must!).

I think my pinky looks the best so I wanted to include one photo of it as well.

I was scared that it will be hard to manage or it will dry streaky but I was completely blown away. I honesty would never pick it up myself but now I want Catrice to come up with more shades, I would pick up a garnet red or a deep blue shade in a heartbeat.

L.O.V. and Catrice

Hello,

today I will show you another PR package that was sent to me from Slovenian Cosnova team. The bag was full and I honestly didn't expect so many products. I received them last week so I'm already testing some of the products out. All of the items are new and have just arrived on the shelfs in our stores.

First I have a batch of L.O.V. products (two or three weeks ago they had 30%off sale and I purchased quite a lot of products from them and after I will properly test them out I will show you all of the goodies).
First item in the round pot actually belongs to their new LE called forever brows and it is a staining eye brow cushion in the shade Warm Brown (there is also cool brown shade available). I haven't tried it yet but my brows are black and I use dark grey shadow to fill them in so I don't know if brown will do it for me but I guess I can use it as a eye liner, right?
Next is a simple lipstick bullet with fantastic magnetic closure. They have come out with four new lipaffair color & care lipstick shades and I received Selma's Courage which is a brown shade.
New to their line are blushliaison dewy gel blush sticks. Mine is in Darling Pink but to me it looks straight up coral which is fine by me because I love coral and peach blushes.
The last item on the photo is lovillusion holographic highlighter palette which contains three beautiful shades (lavender, green and pink). They are a little out of my comfort zone but that is the best thing when they send me random products. I get to try something I would never purchase myself and often I surprise myself.

The second part are new Catrice products and the first one is Lashes to kill waterproof mascara. At the moment this is the only waterproof mascara that I own and when the weather gets warmer I like to wear them. The wand is not rubbery/plastic so I don't know how we will get along but I'm willing to give it a go and I will report back.
Next are two nail polishes, Liquid Silver lux chrome one is like a silver foil on the nails and Catrice recommends using lux chrome 2 in 1 base and top coat to be worn with it. The base and top coat feels very watery so I might use some ridge filling base coat to prepare my nails for the silver metallic one.
The last item is another highlighter but so very different. It is Dewy wet look stick and it looks like it would be clear with some shimmer. I love their highlighters in these chubby formats (I have two out of three) but we will see how we will get along.

Stay tuned for some more Catrice products that I have purchased and are in the process of getting discontinued.

Hello,

wow, this month really went by too fast. It is already the last day of Autumn and we are entering Mr. Winter tomorrow. I collected a handful amount of make-up, skin care, body care, hair care and even one nail treatment.

I will start with an Avon Clearskin blemish clearing bubble cleanser. I remember having one before in a different packaging but the concept is the same. It is liquid but when you press it down the light foam comes up which cleansed my face nicely, it wasn't too drying but I used it up way too fast. I think it lasted me only one month and I won't repurchase it again.

Next is L'oreal Micellar water which is already a repurchase. I like it a lot, it cleanses my skin and it is cheap. I received the new version of it which is now housed in a round bottle and the size is twice as big. I think it will last me for a long time and probably I will repurchase it again or maybe I will try something new.

In the green bottle is already discontinued Avon naturals Great Burdock and Nettle hair mist. It smells fresh like a forest after rain and it instantly makes my hair less frizzy and smoother, the effect doesn't last for long but it is a nice and quick 'fixer' and because it is not oil based I can use a little more and I'm not afraid of oily hair. This is my third bottle of it and I have one more backup left and after that one is gone it is gone.

In the little red tube is Yves Rocher Cranberry cooling effect face mask. I had it for a couple of years and maybe because it was a bit older I didn't noticed any cooling effect on my skin so I just used it up but I haven't noticed any difference so I won't be repurchasing again.

Now, Holika Holika Petite Essential BB cream was one of my absolute favorites and they don't make it anymore. They first replaced it with Bouncing one which was nothing like this and now they cleared all of them out and have a completely new Lolipop line. This baby was pigmented and so easy to spread, it covered my imperfections, I just had to set it well to stick it onto my face. The color was nice and fair but I sometimes mixed it with something lighter to adapt to my skin color better. I would definitely repurchase it again if it would still be around.

Under orange tube of perfection is pink Avon Anew Vitale BB cream which was a bit of a flop compared with the HH one. It was light but on my face it turned too pink after some minutes plus the coverage was so light that only people with already perfect skin could use it and be happy. I still used it up but on my neck just to connect my face with the rest of my body. I'm glad that it is gone and I have some other BB creams that disappointed me with low coverage that I can use on my neck and will replace this one.

The only one nail product is this old Avon nail experts adhesive base coat. Some time ago I added some golden nail polish to create my custom golden shimmery top coat but I didn't like it at all so I still used it as a base coat under my colored nail polishes and now I finally used it all up.

Melvita Damask Rose floral water was nice. I like the toners in spray bottles to refresh my make-up after I'm done with my cream products. I find that a little spritz of toner helps everything blend better together and absorbe into my skin so the result is more natural. Afterward I powder my skin and apply my mascara and I'm done. I find reaching for this trick more in the cooler months but even in the hot Summer sometimes a little refreshment is crucial. This particular bottle was a gift with purchase and in the past I already went through one of them already but I have to admit that I prefer the Lavender one a little better.

The very last item is the Rituals Touch of Happines ultra rich, whipped body cream. I loved the sweet orange and cedar wood scent which is so very 'me'. It was comforting and relaxing but I went through it way too fast. I don't think I would repurchase it even though this brand would be available to me. In general I adore their product but the price tags are a bit high so I usually get them as gifts from my lovely sister when she travels and brings them back to me as souvenirs.
