Empties

Hello,

today's empties post is filled with products and if I drop you a little hint, tomorrow another one will follow with only make-up products.

First bottle is Avon Planet SPA Himalayan Goji Berry body wash. This was discontinued a while ago but the scent was so lovely that I wanted to keep it forever. How foolish, right? I used it up before it went bad and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't noticed any special moisturizing properties, it washed my body like any other regular wash and for the slightly higher price I wouldn't repurchase it even if it would still be available but I would buy the lotion in the same scent.

My sister bought me this Kiko micellar cleansing water which I liked very much. It had nice floral scent and it did it's job, took off all of the remaining make-up. Since Kiko isn't available here I won't be buying it again but if they would open the store nearby then maybe I would.

The little bottle of A'pieu tea tree oil is already a repurchase and I have another one to replace it. What can I say about it that hasn't been said before? Tea tree is an ingredient that works for my oily and acne prone skin, I think that little suckers drown in it when I apply it at night since usually they are smaller or gone the next day. I started to use it also on days when my skin is 'nice' and it looks like it stops little buggers from appearing, not completely but my skin definitely improved (along with a healthier diet, lots of water and some serious reduction of diary).

Underneath there is an amazing body butter from Avon Skin so Soft line. It is the Original with jojoba oil. The consistency is slightly thicker and it takes a while to absorb. Maybe it is not the best to use in the hot Summer because it can feel sticky but because of the scent it is worth it. I can't put my finger on it but it smells nice, sort of comforting and warm. It reminds me of that classic Nivea scent. I still have one or two backups that I need to go through but I will save them for cooler months.

Krauterhof Aloe Vera gel is a product that I don't recommend. No matter how cheap it is don't buy it. I made a mistake and bought two before trying it out first. Aloe Vera is known to soothe and calm down the skin, this bad boy must have acid inside because it almost burn of my face. After I applied it on a freshly washed face I started to feel some weird tingle, after ten minutes I cheeked my face in the mirror and it was bright red. Even after I washed it off some of the product absorbed and it continued to irritate my skin. Next time I put it on on a burn (silly me got burn on the hot oven when I was trying to take my pizza out), first I stick my hand under a cold water but you can't stand there for half an hour, right? So I put this gel over it because I thought it will help, instead it started to burn even more. The only part of my body that doesn't mind are my hair. I used it as a hair gel and that is how I plan to use my second tube of it and then never again.

Second to last is another legend of mine, it is Melvita's Lavender Floral Water. I had a sprayer on but now I reused it on the second bottle. This smells just like lavender and I personally love the scent as I find it very comforting. I usually use it over my make-up to help the cream products blend with each other and mesh with the skin. It does make my skin glossier and it doesn't prolong the wear of make-up so it is not a fixing spray but a true refresher and a moisture booster when you need it. This was my second bottle of it and the third one is already sitting pretty in my bathroom.

And the very last product for today's empties is Melvita's argan oil hand cream. It had a nice scent similar that their Golden oil with a mix of five oils (one of them is also argan one) but it felt a bit heavy, not like the rose one which was way to greasy for me but still a smidge to heavy. I won't repurchase it even though it smelled nice.

thank you again Cosnova team

Hello,

jet again Cosnova team managed to sweep me off my feet. They asked me if I would like to try some of their new products and since I liked the new collections I agreed. I thought I will get two or three items, they send me whole bag of goodies.

It is not hard to miss the two golden products from the Catrice soleil d'ete collection. The main theme is gold and everything evolves around enhancing that Summer tan (I don't have it jet). I received the beautiful Metal Muse five pan eye shadow palette (neutrals with a pop of peach and soft pink). The lipstick doesn't have a sticker with the name on it so I'm just guessing for now which shade I got, I believe it is Nude Metal Mood. It looks like a liquid metal with tons of subtle shimmer, I'm getting a very strong 90' vibe from it (frosty and always shimmery brown nudes).

The most colorful and fun looking are the Essence Cubanita products. I received the cutest livin' la vida banana bag which makes me smile every time I see it. Highlighter, Mi Corazon, is indeed huge (bigger than the eye shadow palette). It has that fake sweet scent that some people like but I don't. It is only noticeable when I open it up, after I apply it on my cheeks it is gone. Pink tinted lip balm, Bienvenida a Palm Beach, looks adorable with its palm tree print and it is another one of those color changing products. I like the anticipation of waiting to see what the color will look like and I can't wait to try it on. The last item from this LE is wet look lip lacquer in the shade Kisses from Havana. It is that purple color which in theory looks amazing but I'm not so sure how it will turn on me. I will try it on and report back.

The very last item is actually my first L.O.V. item, They send me one of their new fatal muse liquid matte lipstick. Let me tell you that even the packaging looks high end (at least to me, I don't have any high end products to compare but just comparing with the rest of my 'collection' this one looks expensive). I got the shade Provocative Confidence. This is my first liquid lipsticks and I wish they would choose somethong more neutral for the first time but then again maybe I will fell in love and it will turn into one of my 'special occasion' lipsticks.

Thank you Slovenian Cosnova team for surprising me once again. My vacation is approaching and I will have more time to test all of these products and enjoy some time on the sun.

Chilly Orange

Hello,

it is time to show you a lipstick that was sent to me, in case you are wondering what am I doing with a bight orange number ;)

It is from Catrice Travelight LE and it is in the shade Chilly Orange. It comes in a sleek silver tube which clicks into place and the cap won't come off easily.

As the name suggest the shade is bright orange and veeeery pigmented. Swatch underneath was made with two effortless swipes.
When you open it up it has a weird scent, something plasticky and sweet but once it was on my lips I couldn't detect it anymore. After a couple of seconds I started to feel the cooling sensation on my lips which lasts for a couple of minutes. I personally like that but I know there are some people who don't.

I'm maybe not the best person to judge this lipstick with a strong matte finish because it is my first one and that is only because I was convinced that I won't like it. I like to feel something moisturizing on my lips which get dry pretty fast. The lipstick lasted but it started to crack as my lips started to get dry under it. Lipstick itself I don't think is drying but it doesn't provide enough moisture so after an hour or so it looked terrible on me. The matte finish didn't convince me and I will rather stay close with glossier lipsticks, they don't last as long but they feel way more comfortable.

I think this shade will look great on my sister so I will pass it on to her and maybe she will love it more.

more shopping

Hello,

I was in need for some retail therapy and for me that means that I went into drugstore and bought some make-up. I know I shouldn't because I have enough but I picked some items up that were on my wish list for soo long, now I wish I would wait a little longer because I could get the two Catrice blushes for less (have you seen which products from Catrice are leaving us and what will replace them? I'm excited and I can wait for the end of the month).

I bought the'last' Catrice Illuminating blush (I already have the other two and they are among my favorites). This one is called Coral me maybe and it is  a very light peachy shade.

Under it there is another Catrice blush from the Defining line. I have heard loads of amazing reviews about it so picked up one shade to give it a go (all of the shades will leave the range). I decided to get dusty, rusty rose shade named Sunrose Avenue.

I'm not a big fan of matte cheeks but this Essence shade in Rose me up! stole my heart. It looks pretty neutral. like a face powder for a few shades darker skin tones but as mentioned it caught my eyes and I just had to have it. Out of the three blushes I bought this one maybe looks the most blah but I'm the most excited about it.

One eye shadow belongs  to the ARTDECO longlasting line and this particular shade is Satin Light Taupe. I was left spechlees after swatching this beautiful neutral brown shade. I think it will fit perfectly into my eye shadow collection.

For last I saved the only lip product. It is Catrice Lip Glow Lip Pencil Secret Glowtensify liner in a pink color which reacts with the warmth of your lips. I don't know why I felt the need to purchase it since I had some lip glosses or the Essence lipstick which were also activated by the warmth and they all turn bright pink on me. I guess I'm an optimist and after trying it out I will see if we will get along or not.

more nail polishes

Hello,

a couple of days ago there was a good deal on nail polishes and of course I had to spend all my money on it. I  had no self control when I saw these beauties. Just yesterday I talked about the Catrice ICONails polishes and how I feel like they aren't anything special but if I will find some nice shades I will still get them, remember that? I bought four bottles.

They had them in sets and I picked out the green one and more neutral one. The darkest green is called Mermayday Mayday and lighter one next to it is Mint Map. In the second set the taupe one is named Taupe League and the delicate shade is Want to be my brightsmaid? All four are shimmer free and I can't wait to try them out.

I was leaving when I caught with the corner of my eye something sparkly. I wanted to try the Moon Rock polishes ever since they came out but somehow I never did (they will discontinue them so if you want them you should hurry). I picked the beautiful berry shade called Moonlight Berriage and lavender/grey one is named Magical Bluelight (I don't know where they got the inspiration for that name because I can see any blue in it). And lastly I picked up the ARTDECO nail polish thinner simply because I'm running very low on my bottle.

It's all about that Red

Hello,

back in May I received this beauty. I know it took me quite a long time to test it but the reason is that I lend it to my sister to try it out and she took it with her on a vacation. I waited for her to sit and talk face to face so this review could include both of our opinions.

I got Catrice ICONail nail polish in the shade It's all about that Red. They completely replaced the old ultimate nail lacquers and there are 45 shades to choose from.

The cap comes off, which is supposed to be more luxurious. I don't know, I guess I just don't care about that. The bottle is squared now and holds a smide more product, 10,5 ml to be exact but the price has gone up a bit as well. I think they retail now for 2,99 €.

Here I compared the brush with the old one from Catrice (blue polish) and it is a bit wider which makes it hard to paint your toes (my sister tried it on her small toes and she said it was extremely hard to do so because of the wide brush but the color stayed put through her entire vacation),

The color is bright and has that classic vibe to it. I have always been more into deep reds but this one totally converted me. It looks so juicy and shiny and bright that I'm having a hard time to focus while I'm at work.
My sister has always loved the Catrice polishes and she loves this one and thinks that the formula is even better than it was. She said that she will definitely check the new stand and pick more shades, the slightly higher price tag doesn't bother her at all.
My opinion about this new line is not as strong as hers. I think that the formula is nice but I don't think it is spectacular. It lasts on me an average amount of time. I get tip wear the next day but it doesn't chip but most of nail polishes also doesn't. They added an extra half of ml of product but they rose the price disproportionately. Avon and Essence polishes works for me just as well and they are cheaper so in the future I will probably buy more from them but if I will see a nice or even an unique shade or if they will be on sale I will get it for sure.

P.S. I already bought some more shades, stay tuned ;)

Empties

Hello,

yesterday's post was all about finished nail polishes and today I'm focusing on other products even though there are two more nail related products in here  :)

Let's start with the Alpstories cleansing gel with Sage and Mint. I have heard so many praises about it and was super thrilled when I won it in a giveaway. I couldn't wait to start using it but in my books this is rather an average face wash for my oily and acne prone skin. I imagined the scent to reminiscent Sage and Mint but it doesn't, it smells green and fresh which is nice for sure but I haven't noticed nothing bitter like Sage or cooling like Mint. The texture is rather liquid and it doesn't work with the packaging. That is my biggest issue with it. The pump should have a longer nozzle so I could get my open palm underneath, this short pump just make product spill down the packaging and if you don't clean it regularly it gets all sticky and icky. For sure it felt nice on my skin and it was super gentle and jet it managed to remove my make-up without stripping my skin. Nice product but I really despise the packaging and I won't be repurchasing it again because of it.

As mentioned above there is one nail polish product in the mix and it is Essence nail studio xxxl nail protector with nylon fibers. I went through a couple of bottles of it and this was my last one and it for sure will be missed since it is discontinued and there are no similar product available. Basically it is a milky base coat with small nylon fibers which holds the nail together. This is especially useful when your nails are brittle or already broken, the fibers connect, make stronger base and your nails aren't breaking as much. That is the explanation in a nutshell and I can't think of one reason why they thought that discontinuing this product was a good idea. Do you?

Aveo nail polish remover with almond oil was a simple and handy little thing. I think it removed my nail polish well and the scent wasn't so horrible. Probably I should mention the super low price tag which is not very proportionate with the efficiency of the product. I will most probably repurchase it, I think they have some other 'scents' and I might try something different or I will just buy the same almond oil infused one.

Avon Planet SPA pillow mist with Chamomile and Lavender was a joy to use. I did use it on my pillows and sheets but mostly I used it as a body spray. Who doesn't like to smell like a relaxing cup of tea? I'm not even being sarcastic here, I'm bloody serious. This sprayed around my head made every task easier and I already miss the scent. I will try to use up some other body sprays but I will repurchase this dreamy scent soon.

Last item is a lip product and usually they are colorful, this time around I have a clear one. It is Essence Transparent lip liner which got discontinued but they came back with it in a different packaging (mine is in a wooden form where I had to sharpen it but the new version comes in twist up plastic, I don't have it jet but I hope they didn't tweak the formula). It might look like a gimmick product, clear liner what is it supposed to do? Well, my friends it does a lot. When my lips were a bit dry or even chapped I applied this waxy liner on it and it smoothed the surface of my lips and I was able to use lipsticks on top (you know when your lips are flaky and colored lip product only make it look more obvious? Not if you apply this guy first), even when my lips looked its best it filled in all of my fine lines and it made my lips look plumper and even fuller (poutier not I got fillers bigger). It even prolongs the color of a product worn on top, because it is clear, transparent it doesn't add color but it helps to last everything for much longer. I will repurchase it, there is no doubt in fact this is probably one of my top ten Essence products of all times.
