Project Polish

Hello,

it is that time again when I'm getting rid of of some nail polishes.
This time around I used up one and gave away two bottles.

Essence My wish list is a pale opaque pink which I fell in love with and I need to find a dupe.
Avon Gunmetal is super old but the formula is still surprisingly good but I decided to give it to my sister because I have a lot of grey varnishes.
Dusty lavender Manhattan 61V is also still in a pretty good shape, it is not as old as the Avon one but still. I also gave it to my sister because she loves Manhattan formula and I have plenty of lavender ones that I just like better.

My wish list comes across as a off white color but it is in fact pale pink and very chic looking on the nails.

Gunmetal is shimmery and very pretty, I had zero issues with it. Avon varnishes really do last.

The very last Manhattan is also cream with a lot of muddiness in it, I prefer my lavenders to be brighter and more cheerful.

I'm glad that I have a bit less bottles in my stash and I hope I will continue with this pace till the end of the year.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Empties

Hello,

I know it has been a while but I'm back, back with another empties post just to let you know I'm still alive and kicking.

In the past I bought two body washes from Balea but the scents turned out to be very plastic and gross. This one on the other hand changed my mind. Jamaica vibes smelled like fresh pineapples and the scent lasted all the way till the end. If I could still find it in the store I would repurchase it in a heartbeat.

Next bottle is Avon naturals Apricot and Shea body lotion which is one of my favorites from this line. I don't find naturals lotions from Avon to be the most moisturizing but I buy them because of the scent. I can't remember through how many bottles of this scent I already went through (three or four and I still have one full backup left) but if it would still be available I would get more.

Lush makes this amazing fresh mask called Catastrophe cosmetic.  It contains chunks of blueberries and when it dries the texture remind me of clay ones but apparently it doesn't contain any. My skin right afterwards feels soft, smooth and nourished, the next day I can notice my acne being reduced and less swollen. For me this mask does 'miracles' but it doesn't feel too strong or abrasive. Right now I have another one (Cosmetic warrior) in my fridge but I can already tell you that CC will be the one I will buy the next time I visit the store.

For a couple of years I have been loyal to Avon deodorants but just for fun I decided to get something different, something to break the routine. I decided to get Dove Original moisture cream anti-perspirant. First of all the scent is just what I like, it smells fresh like I just got out of the shower and after a long day of sweating my armpits still smell fresh. The creamy consistency absorbs fast and right after applying it I could get dressed and it didn't leave marks on my dark clothes. I seriously don't have any negative things to say about it. I went to the store and wanted to get the same scent only in a roll-on version (just because I always used this type and I started to miss it) but I decided to get different scent which I ended up loving just as much as this one but the cream is definitely more moisturizing and it absorbs faster.

A while ago I purchased this Yves Rocher instant youthful effect foundation in the shade 100 beige.  I have a full review of it here. I like the natural finish, the undertone matched me but the shade itself was a bit dark for me (that was before I got lightening drops). It worked with my skin pretty well in the cooler months when my skin wasn't excessively oily but in the Summer it didn't control my oils enough and I stopped using it and started replacing with with other products. This past week I remembered that this is still around and I wanted to start using it again but it started to separate really badly so I think it is time to let go of it.

The very last item is this Manhattan colour splash liquid lip tint in the shade Hint of Pink. It has  a very strong fruity scent and liquid texture which absorbs fast when you are applying it. The texture doesn't allow you to go over it once the first layer is drying. The color at first looks soft but give it a minute or two and it will turn into a bright fuchsia pink. I think that the formula was pretty long lasting but it was the bright shade that didn't suit my everyday mood so I rarely used it. I think I used it only once or twice this year and I know myself, I know I would rarely use it so I might as well just toss it and rather use lippies that suits me better.

Empties

Hello,

I back with another empties post. Today's talk will evolve around lip products, don't believe me?

Lets clear the one product that sticks out first. It is Avon clearskin pore penetrating gel cleanser about which I talked here and I still agree with it. It is gentle to my skin and eyes but it removes all of my make-up and sebum. My skin is pretty clear at the moment and I believe that using this cleanser regularly helped with that. I am considering repurchasing it but not right away since I have two full cleansers in my stock and I need to use them up before buying some more.

The next four products are all lip items. On some of them I worked for a while but this Manhattan Sweet & Tasty one in the shade Swiss Milk Chocolate was gone under a month of consistent use. I can't find how much product this bottle holds but it has to be below 4 ml, I know it looks like a normal sized gloss but the plastic is pretty thick and the inner space (where the product is housed) is super slim. I googled them and they replaced them with a similar looking glosses but since this brand is no longer available here I can't tell if they are indeed the same. Anyway, this gloss smelled and tasted really nice (as the name already implies). It was sweet with toffee and vanilla thrown in the mix. It didn't last long on the lips but I didn't mind since it tasted so good, the only 'issue' I had with it was the color. It is such a pale golden bronze shade which didn't go well with my pigmented lips and my complexion so I mostly used it at home where no one could saw me but since it was moisturizing enough I could skip the lip balm and reapply this product all day long. I might repurchase it again but definitely in a different shade.

I manged to use up another gloss, this one is from Avon ultra glazewear line and the shade is called Nude Muse. This line of glosses is awesome, I like everything about them (sweet scent, glossiness, color payoff, great sales) and this one was not an exception. It is quite brown toned nude with no shimmer. It is a great lip gloss but I don't think I will repurchase this particular shade again simply because I find this nude to be slightly too brown for my taste. I mostly wore it on top of pink lipsticks to make more of a nude-y pink lips. I currently have two other shades but I'm eyeing some others as well (I had Crystal Lilac in the past and it is the shade I will repurchase it someday in the future).

Second to last is Catrice luxury oils intensive care gloss in the color Spending all my Honey. I wrote a very positive review last year in July and I still agree with everything said. This 'color' was my least favorite since I noticed after reapplying it all day that my lips turned slightly yellow. Nothing too crazy but still noticeable if you looked closer so I wore it inside my home. The scent was barely there but it didn't remind me of honey as the brand was implying. I reached for this oil when my lips were in poor state and it manged to heal them in just one day. I call this product a miracle and a must in my collection but Catrice discontinued them all together but they have very similar looking product in the Essence line so when I will be done with all three of them I will try those and I keep my fingers crossed that they used the same formula.

Manhattan Sweet & Tasty Swiss Milk Chocolate lip gloss, Avon ultra glazewear Nude Muse lip gloss &
Avon ultra color Latte lipstick

The last item is Avon lipstick sample form their core line, ultra color and the shade is Latte. This one is one of my favorite nudes and since I already have a full size it felt very natural to go through the little sample. It is a brown toned nude (not as brown as the gloss) with no shimmer. It apply like a dream and it has almost a velvet finish, probably because it is so pigmented (it covers my natural pigment with just two layers) and due to that it also lasts on the lips. As mentioned, I already have a full size and when I will use it up I'm definitely buying more of it.

Hint of Pink

Hello,

today I have something colorful for you. My recent posts were more about skincare but now I have bright almost fuchsia lip product to brighten up.

Manhattan Color Splash liquid lip tint Hint of Pink

On of the rare Manhattan products that I own but it really is a nice one. The full name is Color Splash liquid lip tint and mine is in the shade Hint of Pink. It comes in an average lip gloss tube with the same applicator. I remember there were only four shades available but now when I check their official page they are gone and are probably replaced with another similar named product, if you are interested they are here (I just might purchase a shade or two if I will find them).

This is how it looks like straight from the tube. The applicator carries enough product so you don't need to get more from the tube, a little goes a long way and you have to work fast because when it start drying you can't fix it because it will come straight off. Just go evenly all over your lips and let it dry for a minute or two and you are done. You will noticed that it has a nice fruity scent and taste, when it dries you can lick it and it won't budge ;)

This is the stain that remained, it looses a bit of color but when it is completely dry you can apply another coat and get super bright color or I sometimes add fuchsia lipstick on top so it looks a bit glossy just because I like that finish and when the lipstick wears off I still left with a nice stain.
