10. NOTD

Hello,

I wore the red manicure for five days and today I decided that it is the time to switch. I dig out this super old nail polish and I have to admit it was a bit thick but a few drops of nail polish thinner solved it.

Essence magnetics Spell bound!

This is Essence magnetics in the shade Spell bound!. If I'm not mistaken this line doesn't exist anymore. When it came out I had to try it. First I bought the silver/gunmetal shade and realized that I don't like to use magnets with it. Yes, I bought another one but I just couldn't resist this color. It takes me a lot of time because you have to polish each nail individually and dry it with a magnet on top. Of course I came to close and smudged perfectly painted tips and I had to start all over. Now I use them like every other polish, I don't mess around with magnets anymore.

Essence magnetics Spell bound!

This is how it looks on the nails. Not to shabby for a thick varnish, right?
I have a feeling that I will get tired of it soon and I'm already looking for a perfect top coat to make it a bit more interesting.

9. NOTD

Hello,

it has been a while since I used this title. I had to check which one is it so I wouldn't mix it up. For this one I decided to check which polish is really old and to see if it is still usable.

Avon Golden wine

At the back of my drawl I found this one. I used two coats of this beautiful Avon polish called Golden wine. This one is discontinued for a couple of years now and it was love at first sight. When I saw that it is leaving I bought another bottle which is still full, this one is half empty.

Avon Golden wine

Like I said I used two coats and as you can see it is completely opaque. It contains beautiful red and golden shimmer which is not hard to remove. It is perfect for Christmas manicures but I forgot about it because I was really distracted with all of the Essence advent shades.
I still find this polish to be one of my favorites.

Cosnova news

Hello,

you probably know that Catrice and Essence change their core line twice a year and they already released a list which product will have to say goodbye and which items will replace them.
Every time I can hardly contain myself, I throw myself into googling and making lists of all the products I want. I always make little collages and this time I decided to show it to you. I only do this with products which are leaving us because I can find swatches and reviews online. This is my last chance to pick them and they are also cheaper (they are already reasonably priced but still, when you know you can get them cheaper than you wait for the sale, right?)

Here is a Catrice collage. All of those products will leave us soon and I want to take a closer look at them and possibly buy them before they are gone for good.
I know I want the palette because my sister has it and she is impressed so probably I will get one for her too.
I'm not sure about the eye shadows, I picked neutrals but I have to swatch them in the store and if they will convince me I will buy them.
The same goes for the blushes and bronzer, maybe I will pick only one bronzing product. Robin Wood is actually fitted under blushes but the color is more bronze than anything else.
All of the new Catrice products which will be available soon you can find here and if you can't wait to see all of the soon gone products you can check them on this link here.

Here I have my Essence picks. I have to check how glittery the metal glam shadows really are. I know that there is only glittery over spray and underneath the colors aren't so shimmery which I prefer.
I think I will get both 3D duos. The shades look like something I would wear.
Blush here looks crazy but I was looking at the swatches and it turns out that this one is actually pretty light peach but I have to see it in person.
The pure nude powder is probably too dark for me but maybe I can use it as a light bronzer.
The hair elastics are always good to have them around, especially when I braid my hair and I need small bands.

Last but not least here we have nail polishes. As you can see I picked only Essence this time simply because I didn't liked anything from its sister brand. I think I will collect all of them because I like those colors and top coat is a bonus, we can never have too many top coats, right?
If you are interested about all of the new Essence products you can see them on the official site here
or if you are curious which products will leave us you can check them here.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Essence advent calendar XVII

Hello,

happy New year. I hope that 2015 was great for you and that 2016 will be even better.
For today I decided to show you some top coats, two of them are from le calendar and the third one is also from a le but from years ago. They are all shown in the same order in all photos.

Essence See you in my dreams!, Message from the North pole & Feels so good

Here they are. All Essence limited edition toppers. The first two are from this years advent calendar and are called See you in my dreams! and Message from the North pole. The third one is from the Re-mix le and it is called Feels so good. They all look somewhat similar in the bottle and I was curious if there are any differences among them or I can give two of them away.

Essence See you in my dreams!, Message from the North pole & Feels so good

Here they are all painted over dark blue polish (it looks like there is purple base but I swear it is dark creme blue polish).
See you in my dreams has the tiniest shimmer and dries with a more velvety finish.
Message from the North pole has almost flakes and what you see on the photo above is only one coat and it is semi-matte. It also looks more gold than pink.
Feels so good top coat dries into a high gloss finish and particles are more sparse compared with the other two ones.

I just couldn't help myself. I had to test them over something lighter because I don't think I will actually wear them over such dark polish. They are still different but it is not so obvious.
I think they are all beautiful and probably I will keep all of them to play around.

Essence advent calendar XVI

Hello,

for the last day in the year I decided I will show you what is on my nails. It is jet another Essence nail polish in on of my favorite colors but did I liked it?

Essence What a grey-t night!

His name is What a grey-t night!  It is a light grey polish with fine pink/gold shimmer which is seen only in a strong light. The color is unique at least to me. I usually pair my grey polishes with something silver but this one totally convinced me that gold and grey goes hand in hand.

Essence What a grey-t night!

This is how this beauty looks on the nails. The warmth of the shimmer reminds me of the colorful sunset, right? This one is a total winner for me but the formula is not as great as expected. The problem I have with this one is that it doesn't dry completely. After half an hour or so I expect my nails to be completely dry but this one isn't, I'm seeing lots of dents in it. I bump with my nails a lot and everything shows on the surface, I even used my Avon liquid freeze which helped a bit but not completely. It is a real bummer because this one is one of the most beautiful polishes that I own.

Thank you for reading and have a nice New year

Coco Rose & Cherry Blossom

Hello,

today I decided to change things up a bit so I choose some lip products. This time there are two but from the same brand and line but still different from each other.

Figs & Rouge lip balms in Coco Rose and Cherry Blossom

I'm talking about Figs & Rouge lip balms. The one in the pink packaging with the flamingos is called Coco Rose and the color is blush pink. The scent is very specific, it smells like roses and it is spot on. It reminds me of the Alverde rose oil and honestly it feels so weird to apply it on my lips, it doesn't feel right. I keep thinking that it can't come in my mouth. Which is a problem since all of the lip products eventually ends up in my mouth.
The second one is called Cherry Blossom which actually smells like Haribo gummy bears and the shade is soft cherry. I haven't used it a lot but enough to see how different they are from each other.

Figs & Rouge lip balms in Coco Rose and Cherry Blossom swatch

First is Cherry Blossom. The shade is nice cherry red and it doesn't contain any glitter particles.
The second is Coco Rose, it is pale pink with tons of silver glitter. It is a bit oilier and that makes it softer, more liquid-y when it comes out of the tube.

Here you can see the shades better. They sheer out when  put them on lips. Cherry Blossom is slightly tinted and I like that. The Coco Rose first looks pink but on the lips it is clear with a lot of glitter which is a bit rough. I definitely feel it when I rub my lips together.

I just have to show you the packaging more up close. To me liquid lip products that comes in a tube are the most practical since you can apply them on the go, you just press the tube on the lip and smear it all over but here you can see that this is impossible. The opening is huge and you can't apply it straight from the tube. I put it on the back of my hand and apply it with my finger or a brush but when you are walking or on the bus you really don't have time to do it.

I was so excited to see them on sale since they aren't so cheap. I picked these two and I had high hopes. First the packaging is a total fail in my books, second Coco Rose scent reminds me of something else and I feel uncomfortable wearing it on my lips and the third complaint is the non existing color packed with rough glitter. I wish I wouldn't purchased this one. Thankfully I'm almost gone with it, I was mixing it with my body lotion just to use it up. On the other hand I quite like the Cherry Blossom. The packaging is of course the same but the color is nice. It is very softly red tinted  with no glitter. I will use this one with joy.

My review is mixed because the products differ from each other but mostly it is just a personal taste, maybe someone likes their lip balm to be full of glitter or doesn't like red tint. We are all different and like different stuff.

Essence advent calendar XV

Hello,

I'm back with another polish form this years Essence limited edition calendar. I have to say that I'm really impressed. So far I like all of the colors and I'm sure I will wear them often (or for as long until I will use them all up).

Essence Kiss under the mistletoe

This time I will introduce you to the dark green shade which is called Kiss under the mistletoe. I'm not a huge fan of greens but this one is so simple. Plain dark green that interestingly enough appeal to me. I can wear it on it's own or I already have a vision to top it off with silver chunky glitter.

Essence Kiss under the mistletoe

It' s pretty dark but not so much that it would look almost black and the cream finish is a joy to apply.
