Project Polish

Hello,

today I would like to show you my recently used up nail polishes. All of them look like there is still something left but since they are so old they got thick and goopey. I did use all of them recently and I had to tilt the bottles to get enough polish out to paint all of my nails and even then I got tip wear really soon. I really like all of these shades but they are past their prime so they have to go.

First we have Catrice Royal REDding which has a sand finish that I adore. It is a standard bright red but the finish is what makes it so special. This has to be one of my favorites and because Catrice discontinued it long time ago I'm checking other brands for something similar (I know Misslyn has some diamond/sand finish varnishes, I have to check their stand the next time I will be at the store).

The next two bottles I believe belong to the same brand Joy. I can always find them in various stores all tossed together in giant bowls and you have to dig in to check the shades. For me that is not very appealing because it makes them look even cheaper even though they cost around one Euro anyways. One reason why they are so inexpensive is the 5 ml bottle and the other is that they don't even have names so I name them myself. The first color reminds me of bottle of a Jam. Purple base with purple and red shimmers and almost jelly texture looks delicious on the nails. The other is darker almost black blue-purple with tons of silver sparkles that shines like stars on Starry Night.

The very last one is also one of my favorites and it is Essence Grey-t to be here. I'm in love with grey nail polishes and it doesn't even matter if they are light or dark, shimmery, glittery or creams... I like them all. This was pretty unique with its light color and pink and golden shimmer in it. It had a little something to it to stand out and I definitely appreciate that especially if you have so many bottles of gray polish.

I know, not the best photograph but it is the only half decent that I could make. The red one isn't so light on the nails and all the other have shimmer which is more shiny in person. Only the Starry Night looks quite true to it self and boy oh boy it is gorgeous. Well, all four were magnificent colors and I will miss them all but life goes on and there are still so many colors in my stash that need to get used up.

These four bottles concludes 40 bottles that I got rid of this year alone. Some of them I used up, some I had to toss because they were too old and some I gave away to a better home but all in all I have 40 bottles less (I did bought and received some so my collection didn't exactly went down for forty but it is still a pretty good accomplishment). I think I deserved a good pat on the back  ;)

Project polish

Hello,

last month I gave two nail varnishes away and this moth I only used up one and even that one is small 5 ml bottle. I wore it quite a lot lately and even though I was constantly repainting the same color I didn't get too sick of it. I blame the unusual finish. Keep on reading to see what I mean.

I still don't know if these are Volare or Joy nail polishes. Is that the same brand just different name? Anyways, they don't have an individual stand but all of the polishes are tossed in a large see through bowl with a ridiculous low price tag.
I remember seeing these speckled ones on a blog and went into the store to get some for myself but I was only able to found one. They don't have names so I named it Strawberry Yogurt.

It is cool toned light pink with lots of little black non-reflective dots in it. I find that when it dries on the nails it starts to look more warm. I even paint over one of the nails the other day just to see the slight difference in the undertone.
I think that the dotted finish is unique and I loved wearing it a lot. It dries glossy and it is smooth, the dots which looks like seeds aren't touchable.
The bottles are small so is the price tag, I  didn't have any major problems with it. The wear time was average, it didn't crack on me but the tips started to show after two or three days which is normal if you work with computers all day long.
They probably don't make this shade or finish anymore but if I could find it in another color I would buy it.

Project polish

Hello,

we are almost done with half of July and I manged to clear out three more bottles of nail polish. There are only two on the photo because I used them up, the third found a new home before I could take a group photo.

Avon Golden Wine and Joy 69

The top one is Avon Golden Wine. It is fantastic red with golden shimmer, one of my favorites and before it got discontinued I bought another bottle which I will crack open soon so I'm not that sad to depart from this one.

The second one is another Joy nail polish with number on the bottom which I assume is the shade and it is 69. I liked it but not loved it, it is a mix of orange and copper shimmer. I'm so happy to be done with it and now I can start using some other shades.

The third one which obviously isn't on the photo is another Avon varnish in Wandering Rose shade. It is still available for purchase, even though I bought it last year. I don't know why I didn't return it but I'm happy that my sister likes it so I just gave it to her. It is a medium bright pink with a cream finish. Nice but not really my cup of tea.

Counting these three as finished I resized my collection for  13 bottles all together in this year, I think I'm doing really well and I can only hope to continue with this pace.

31. NOTD

Hello,

I think I wore this shade once before and then never again. This rusty, burnt orange just isn't my cup of tea kind of shade, I honestly don't even remember when or why I purchased it.

Joy 69

It is another Joy nail polish and  the shade is labeled as 69. It has some sparkles and if I'm not careful brush strokes appears.

Joy 69

It covers my short nails perfectly in two coats but I added the third one just to 'fix' the brush strokes and I think now it looks better.
I'm wearing it for two days now and it still looks nice, no chips or tipwear so once again I was proved that for me the nail polish doesn't need to be expensive to last. I think these 5 ml bottles retail for less than one euro.
I'm happy with the wear time but I'm not so sure about the shade, it is so not me but I really can't decide if I should keep it or give it away. I guess I will see after a couple days of wearing it.

Project polish 2

Hello,

last month I first updated you with my take on the project polish and I decided to continue with posts (if you are interested in introduction post it is here). I love seeing empty bottles but at first I thought it would be super hard to finish any, almost five months later and I used up 8 nail polishes and the most important thing is that I'm not tired and done. Year has seven more months...

Essence Blue addicted & Joy 72

First on the photo is Essence Blue addicted glittering top coat. You can see from the bottle design that this is old and I'm glade it is gone since this was never among my favorites. I know it is hard to see how this one looks like but you can follow this link where I posted up close photos.
Second raspberry shade is from a brand called Joy, they have very affordable prices and sometimes I get some funky shades from them (by funky I mean colors that I'm not so sure I will like but I want to try them up). However, they don't have names just numbers and this one is 72, I fell in love as soon as I applied it. The shade is gorgeous and if I will be able to find another bottle I will purchase it for sure. If you are interested in the shade you can see it better here.

I'm already working on some other polishes and I can only hope that the next month will be successful like this one.

21. NOTD

Hello,

I found this little fella somewhere in the back and decided to dust it and see if it is still manageable. It turns out that it is and since I'm still not so sure which brand it is or when I bought it this is an accomplishment.

Joy 72

This raspberry shade is I think from brand called Joy (I peeled the sticker off, probably the minute I bought it) and on the top there is number 72, so I assume it is the shade number. The bottle contains only 5 ml but I think that is okay.

Joy 72
The formula is still nice but it is very liquid-y and sheer, I needed three coats and under a strong light you can still see my nail line. I don't think that is so bad since the color is so pretty, it remind me of a raspberry jam.
The wear time is not that great, I got tip wear the next day and after three days I had some minor chips, not the best but since the color is so nice I will keep it.
