Hello,
I have purchased another Clarins mini set (I already had one in the past but with different products but it also included mini lip oil and mini lip perfector). If I am not mistaken they reformulated both and now I have also different shades.
Part of this new set is Clarins shimmery lip perfector in Translucent Glow and lip comfort oil in Pitaya shade (there is also a mini mascara but I will not be talking about it jet since I haven't fully tested it).
Lip perfector still has fuzzy top, which I find nice because it doesn't spill the product but on the other hand is less hygienic (I am used to wipe the top every once in a while). But maybe this forces me to use it more often and use it up in recommended time frame. In the previous version I had the pink one in the 01 shade.
Lip oil comes with surprisingly long doe foot applicator (I assume they didn't minimize it for the mini) and has almost enough product on for my entire lip (keep in mind that my lips are small). Previously I had yellow one in the Honey shade. I don't remember that it had any specific scent, definitely not honey like and it also didn't leave any color behind.
Here are the color swatches in order. Lip perfector doesn't have any base color but a lot of tiny white shimmers which add to the glow but when I rub my lips together it is not scratchy. I think that the scent is the same, slight caramel but there is no taste to it, even after reapplying it. The shimmer is small and when the product is gone (after 2h it disappears) the shimmer is also mostly gone which I consider as a plus. I used it on days when my lips just felt and looked dry and it actually made them hydrated and better. The shimmer didn't cling on dry patches and my lines were less deep. I really like this lip perfector and I will probably carry it in my purse since it is easy to put on while on the go.
Next in line is the Pitaya lip oil. I don't think I tried Pitaya fruit before so I don't know how it smells but this oil has somewhat fruity scent but I can't pinpoint the fruit. It could be the Pitaya but now I wonder how other colors smell like. In the bottle looks pink, swatch and first application look barely there pink but it does get brighter after some wear time. My lips turned bright pink like they do with ph reacting lip products. I am not the biggest fan of this shade but it was at least even on me. The stain color is nice but usually I don't want to deepen it so I would put clear balm or lip perfector over it and the shade stayed put but it did get removed after eating, drinking is fine but after eating the color was gone.
I believe them when they say they changed them and for me it is for the better, I prefer both new versions. I probably won't buy more oils (I can get cheaper ones elsewhere) but lip perfector won me over. They have the glow version, shimmery (the one that I got) and intense ones which I believe have more pigment to it. I am most interested in the first two lines.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day
