Empties

Hello,

I have been focusing on a couple of products and so in this post I have a wide variety of empties. Some of them are my favorites and already repurchased, others not so good are already trashed and out of my life.

Avon Planet SPA Greek Seas with Algae extract smoothing moisture lock eye gel was something I wanted to try for the Summer but it took me much longer to actually use it up. It was a proper gel with some pink/purple pearl shimmer which wasn't obvious on the skin. It absorbed fast but I didn't noticed any special moisturizing properties so I won't repurchase it again.

This bottle of Eveline expert C, 12% active vitamin C serum is already my second one. I bought both at the same time and while I loved the first one I think this one went bad. There was no intense citrus scent as there was with the first one and I'm pretty sure this one caused acne, so I just pour it out. I know vitamin C is very unstable but I expected that the dark bottle placed in a dark drawl would protect the product inside. I have some other serums that needs to be used up but after that I will buy this serum from Eveline again but only one at the time.

Avon Advance Technique duo treatment spray for luxuriously nourished hair is another repurchased product. There are two oils and you are supposed to shake them to mix and it smells so very good. I haven't noticed that my hair would look better so I used it only because of the scent and I will buy it again in the near future.

Garnier skin active honey face wash smelled amazing. Very honey like and that is definitely my jam. It did wash my make-up off and didn't strip my skin. It was really nice but I don't think I will buy it again. Himalaya's neem foaming was or Alkmene's tea tree wash simply do more when it comes to my acne.

Second to last blue bottle is Melvita's Lavender floral face water. I think this is my third bottle of it and if it didn't work it wouldn't be a constant in my make-up routine. I like to spray my face with it after I'm done with my cream and before my powder products especially in the cooler months. I will probably try lavender toner from some other, cheaper brand to see if it works just as good otherwise I'm buying it again.

Batiste Tropical dry shampoo was a disappointment. I like their peony scented version but I wanted to try some other scents as well and this one was icky. To me it smelled like plastic bag which they tried to cover it up with a generic overly sweet coconut scent. I apologize to everyone who love it but we are all different, with different tastes. Peony version is already repurchased and I also took the cherry one to try out and I hope it will be better then this one.

Melvita Extraordinary oil was just a 17 ml sample (this is the second sample bottle that I went through plus I used up the full, 100 ml version in the past). This oil has intoxicating scent, it is so very good and addictive but I don't think it did much for my skin or hair. I used it and my skin didn't look any better, if anything it was a bit dry like this oil wasn't moisturizing enough for me. It is on the more expensive side so when the results aren't there I don't think I can justify buying a new bottle.

Catrice Pure Shine Colour balm in Go, Flamingo Go! was a repurchased shade and I used up another red one. These balms were amazing. Very moisturizing, tinted and glossy, everything I seek in a lip product and I would get it again in a heartbeat if I could.

Avon Mark Plump it clear gloss is nothing new for me. Through the years they changed the names, packaging, shades but the formula still seems the same. This is my third tube of it and I love it. Clear isn't really my first pick but the tingling, minty and cooling formula is phenomenal if you like that sort of thing. I'm glad that I used it up before the really cold weather because I only use it when it is hot outside but next year I'm getting some more. I'm eyeing the nude shade.

Alverde Rose face oil has been repurchased numerous times. My irritated skin responds so well to it. After a couple of days of using it (I apply it at night time) my skin looks more even and is more moisturized. I like the handy pipette packaging but 15 ml of product goes quick. At the moment I don't have it since I'm working on another oil but when that one is gone I'm repurchasing it aging.

A'pieu NonCo tea tree face oil is another little gem (14 ml) for my skin. When my skin is suffering form acne or when I just start to feel them under the surface I start using it (also at night), those little suckers don't stand a chance. Also at the moment that was the only bottle of tea tree oil in my possession but I'm testing a sample from The Body Shop and I will see if it is just as good.

The Body Shop shade adjusting lightening drops is another 'I can't live without' product. I love my foundation but the lightest shade is not light enough so I just can't see myself not using it.Even one week of vacation couldn't turn my skin darker enough to make it without the drops so this is a must and a new bottle is already in good use.

pore minimizing primer

Hello,

I'm big on priming my face before I put any coverage on top simply because I would like it to last me through the entire day (if you have oily skin then you know that it can be a struggle). This Essence primer came out just on time for my sisters wedding. She had her make-up professionally done but I did mine myself and this primer was the first thing that I used.

It is Essence prime+ studio mattifying + pore minimizing primer with black clay (yep, that is the name of it). They have two more, one with green clay for redness prone skin and the one with pink clay which is supposed to give you some dewy effect.

The product itself really is grey but it melts into the skin very nicely without any color. I like the thin nozzle and squeeze tube, very convenient and small packaging. You still get the normal sized products with 30 ml and it is easy to travel with it.

Grey blob of product on the back of my hand looks like a seal, doesn't it? For my face I would use twice as much. It absorbs quickly and it doesn't feel sticky but rather smooth and pores are filled in.
I don't need to wait but apply my foundation right after it and it looks even and nice. My oils still comes through but it takes them longer and I can just powder it and it still looks good for the next couple of hours.

I think that this primer is really nice for my oily skin and it has proven to me through these hot days. If you are on the hunt for a good and cheap mattifying face primer I can suggest you to try it out.

It was sent to me from Cosnova PR team and I can't thank them enough.

Empties

Hello,

a little late but never the less, my empties are here.
I feel like this time I have a good pile of awesome and some disappointing products, I feel that I usually have only good products...

First is Essence instant matt make-up fixing spray which I liked a lot. In fact this is my second bottle of it and I thought that I will repurchase this baby also in the future until the Catrice Active Warrior (LE spray) came out and I figure it out that that is even better. Since then I bought the Catrice matte fixing spray and I hope that it is just as good as the le one but this means that I will no longer repurchase this Essence one.

Avon's Little sequin Dress lotion was something I had my eyes on ever since it came out. Initially I wanted the perfume but since the lotions are easier to go though I bought myself this tube and I though that this scent will be the greatest (every time there was a scented page in the brochure I would rub my wrist and enjoy in the scent) but I was left a bit disappointed. The scent is still nice but nothing too special. It has that creamy rose scent mixed with some other flowers, it is not super sweet more so fresh. I like it a lot but it doesn't excite me as some other scent do so I won't buy anything else with this scent.

I was gifted this Afrodita cosmetics Passion fruit cream shower gel when I bought one of their sun lotions (my parents only use their sun lotions so once when they were on sale I bough a tube for them and received this as a gift with purchase). It had nice fruity scent, very invigorating and these natural looking beads (you can see them at the left bottom corner), not scrubby enough to do anything but rather annoying to clean after I was done with my shower. I would give them A+ for the scent but I would make them without extra particles.

The Body Shop Vitamin C glow protect lotion with SPF 30 wasn't as white as I expected and it did give me some glow (oily skin nightmare). I test it alongside with another sun lotion and I used each on one half of the face and went for a walk. After a couple of hours my face started to itch, the kind of itch that pimples are causing it (the nasty ones that grows under the skin and you can't do anything and are super painful) but only on the side of my face where I used this TBS vitamin C one. I have never ever used it on my face again, those acne took almost three weeks to heal and I wasn't ready to repeat it. Instead I used it on my arms where I had zero problems, it also has a nice pleasant citrus scent.

In the silver tube there is Skin 79 super plus triple functions BB cream. This brand is one of my favorites when it comes to the BB creams (I love the orange, V.I.P. gold, hot pink, oriental, I even like the green and purple even though I only tried the samples), this one was the weakest of them all. Coverage was barely there, more like a tinted moisturizer and it didn't cover anything, maybe blur and that is not what I was looking for. I ended up using it on my neck and chest to get some color (so my face covered in foundation didn't look too out of place plus I appreciated the sun protection I got from it, only 25 but still something). I definitely won't repurchase it.

Second to last is one of my favorite mascaras and it is already discontinued I think, I can't find it in the latest brochure, I hope they will come back with it. It is Avon Infinitize black mascara (I probably received this shade in a set where I couldn't choose the color, I normally go for the brown/black version).

The brush is really interesting but very easy to navigate. It has spikes also at the very tip so you can get those tiny ones in the corner as well. I never had issues applying it to my lower lash line ether. The formula was great as it is with Avon mascaras and even a little bit of rain or tears couldn't smudge it even though it is not waterproof or water resistant. I'm telling you Avon mascaras are the best, Catrice comes really close.

The very last items is Avon ultra glazewear Mullberry lip gloss. Another beloved product of mine. I love love love Avon glosses but sometimes it is hard to get the right shade (I'm very picky). This was a limited shade at first but now they have it for years so I guess it is not so very limited  ;)  It is soft pink with almost milky tendency so if you have pigmented lips this could look odd. When my lips were a tad too red I applied softer pink lipstick and then I topped it of with a gloss to avoid my natural lip color show through and it looked so lovely with my complexion.

I am thinking of repurchasing this shade but I still have 20 glosses left and a lot of them are pink. Since this shade is not going anywhere I will wait and get it someday in the future, maybe next year.

Steel the look

Hello,

Essence came out with these intense metallic shadows and the moment I saw them I  knew I will want them. There are six shades available and I got the coolest of them all.

Officially they are called melted chrome eye shadows and the name is definitely suitable. My silver shade is Steel the look.

It feels almost creamy even though it is not cream, just powder but it is so smooth and buttery. Mine arrived cracked and I have to be careful not to drop it but otherwise it is fine.

Pigmentation is insane, I just lightly rubbed my finger in there and the first swatch is the result. Crazy, right? With the remain shadow on my fingertip I made the second more subtle swatch. I wore them both ways and with my regular primer underneath (ArtDeco shadow primer) it stays put all day, no creasing or fallout.
When they announced that they will discontinue the super popular and awesome Metal Shock shadows I was surprised but I knew there is something even better in the works. I think they did an amazing job with these. I'm only judging by one shade but this is crazy pigmented but if you want it it can be subtle. Almost creamy formula does not allow any fall out plus there is no glitter or visible particles. The shadow itself is so reflective that it doesn't need any big sparkly chunks.
I absolutely love it and I'm rocking the sparkly and reflective look almost every day, I'm seriously considering buying the green Lead me or the soft golden shade named Ironic.
